We noticed a fella who looked maybe 20 buying an alcohol and a person he drove with in the parking lot who looked even younger. However, the store called in a police report on us saying we looked "suspicious." We came to the store to look for some good deals, and upon seeing that half the shelves were empty we left. This must have offended whoever was on shift because they called the police. Wouldn't the store have CCTV they could check before calling a bogus report? Maybe it was just a boring night and they needed some entertainment. Whatever the reason, don't go here unless you like to interact with people with room temperature intelligence. A real patriot would have used their brain to figure out the actual situation instead of making stuff up like some kind of Benedict Arnold. Maybe the patriot name is a facade like the Quality Learing Center in Minnesota. In all seriousness, our experience here was horrible. The patriot likes to exploit the thin blue line as their personal gestapo against average citizens who deem their store to be subpar. They have gas, beer, cigarettes , lotto, snacks, a cooler with frozen foods . They also have a section with microwaveable foods. They have fresh fruit . Also have have every gift card imaginable. I always get their Starbucks energy triple shot mochas 2/$6 can't beat it or they have monster to. And sometimes they have the police in there on break so it's safe but is anyway as there not anything to worry about in Frankenmuth . They aren't always 24 hours in the winter though . They close at Midnight or sometimes a little later.

But, look for the flickering OPEN sign. There most definitely is a business here. This is exactly the sort of small grocery store you would expect to see in Mexico, with a wide range of items from snacks to cooking ingredients to cleaning products. There is an entire wall devoted to dried peppers, from guajillos to ancho chilis to chile de arbol, and likely several others you have never heard of before. They cost $1.99 for a 3 ounce bag, significantly cheaper and better quality than your specialty grocery store, like Nino Salvaggio's. There is a small refrigerated section that includes massive, beautiful tomatillos, and nopales (cactus). You will seriously never see better representations of either of those at any grocery store. Then, there are the snacks. These are all imported, and the type you would expect to find in Mexico. The only brand you may recognize are Takis...which of course is a Mexican brand. And, they have several varieties that you may never have seen before. The store is quite small, but packed with value, and a few surprises. I got a 15 ounce can of sardines for $3.29. Absolutely nothing here is expensive. I've driven by here so many times, and wondered what was inside. I'm glad I finally stopped in. It definitely will not be the last time.
