I asked for the 30 days, but the conversation escalated. The pharmacist, Alan, hung up on me. When I arrived in person, he called the cops claiming I was threatening, which I wasn't. I was told to take my prescriptions elsewhere. This was distressing, and I'm deeply disappointed by this treatment.

How can I not complete the cycle here? And how utterly useless is this listing when it's just 5 people each giving this CVS all different rankings? Guess you need to go judge for yourself. Maybe the 6th person to review this CVS will dispense the real truth, completely objective in every aspect. Really, I don't have a lot to say here. This is a pretty standard CVS, but it's location is very convenient in respect to my parents condo when I'm out that way and it's 24 hours if I'm burning the midnight oil. They have a bunch of household essentials. They didn't have lock de-icer when I really needed it last month but I won't hold it against them too much. There were another couple of places that didn't have it either. That walk was brutal but eventually I got some and got back into my car and that's another story anyway. Service has always been decent, it's not too hard to get someone up at the register who seems decently awake and aware in the wee hours when I tend to roll in to grab a few things. And what do you know, it's terribly late right now and I'm out of stuff to write here. Whoever writes that sixth review can you do me a favor and message me on here? I just wanna see how it turns out.

Although I have my own problems I have been able to remain healthy. Two years ago I was in a car accident (not at fault) which left me with cervical spine injury and spinal cord compression. My treating providers send all my RX to the pharmacy located 16mile/Metro Parkway. However, Julian (pharmacist) decides how I'm to be treated. My MAR has two RX for Gabapentin which means that he is being bias based on prejudice to my pain management. Since I no longer have insurance he will not fill my pain medication. My migraines have increased because the previous Duloxetine they issued was non theraputic causing "brain zaps" which a pharmacist should know what that means. They ordered from a different supplier only to be able to give me a 30 day supply at a higher cost. And when it was time for another refill they're only able to give me a 15day supply stating it's still on backorder at an even higher expense. This is not gatekeeping nor is it in the best interest of their patients. If I could give them a zero it would be to much.

I've been living in the area for about 20 years, which means I've been here hundreds of times. As with any Rite Aid, you'll find a good selection of just about everything here. It's usually a little bit more than you would pay at a supermarket, but you do pay for the convenience. With their wellness+ plan, you can save up to 20%, so the prices do end up becoming very competitive. You have to spend a fair amount to get that discount, although the cost of your pharmaceuticals definitely gets you to that threshold quickly. I have to say, this is the first time I am doing a review in response to other peoples reviews. I think the common element here is that people are expecting happy, bright, cheerful people every time they come in to have their pharmaceutical needs tended to. Some people here are like that, but others might take a while to warm up to. You know, just like people in any profession. I actually like every person that works at Rite Aid, from the pharmaceutical staff to the cashiers. Andy is a good guy, even if he may not come across that way when you first meet him. I guess after you've seen someone a few hundred times, you start to get used to the personality a bit. I can understand being upset when someone at a pharmacy makes a mistake, but here's a crazy idea: tell them about the mistake so they can fix it! My daughter has a brain tumor, and she's had so many medications I can't even count. In all these years, I think they only made one mistake, and it was a minor one. So, if you really want to take your business elsewhere because the people here didn't kiss your butt sufficiently, that's your business. I totally trust my family's health being in the hands of these pharmacists. That's all that matters to me.

I gotta give a special shoutout to the GM. My wife sent me in with a laundry list of women's products to buy (and a few product pics). He noticed I was dazed and confused and approached me to see if I needed help. I guess it was pretty obvious cause he laterally took the list and my phone and told me to grab a basket and meet him in aisle whatever. He even had me text my wife for clarification a few times. There's not a lot, or enough, above and beyond these days but he provided me a shopping experience I will never forget.

And also being on a fixed budget, pharmaceutical prices can be crippling. My last review was terrible but I can comment here and now to say the aisles looked great. Sale food items on the shelves stocked along with sparkle clean floors. The produce, deli, meat department, lunch meat, dairy, staple aisles, cleaning supplies, cereal, bread and bakery to name a few =Awesome. The beer and wine areas have huge displays and the deep refrigerated coolers stocked for the summer= COOL ! I did not shop in the clothing, misc, Garden Center but I could see from afar everything looks great with ceiling Lighting and upbeat music to shop by. I saw many happy employees working hard stocking and saying hello plus greeters at the door and 8 employees working at the check out lanes and registers. My only 1 complaint = no conveyor checkout Lanes for over 20 items. You scan only & regular cashier lanes open today. I will definitely keep in mind this location when I'm in the area shopping at 23 Mile Rd and Gratiot for sure but keep my shopping items limited to 15 items or less. I'll be a faithful customer to the location on Groesbeck near Cass because of the conveyor belt so I can slowly and efficiently pack my own groceries. HIGH 5 'S .. Clap clap.. to all who helped and completed the remodeling with great efforts and hard work!! Automatic entrance doors working fast! Hopefully customers who live around here or others who make the drive, will benefit at this location for their weekly or daily shopping experience. Also a drive up Pharmacy..
