I went in to get some vaccine shots and pick up some prescriptions. I mean, staff was nice and they seem like they have all items in stock but WOW this place is filthy; looking up at just about every single vent will have you notice that they haven't dusted or wiped it down in god knows how long. The chairs by the waiting area in the pharmacy are just...oof...they're in rough shape. Look. I really don't care but I can't ignore that even a simple wipe down of the pharmacist's cash register would at least clean that area up immensely. read more

This pharmacy is poorly run, understaffed, not stocked with essential medications. It is baffling. Same day/ urgent scripts take 3 hours to get filled, and prescriptions that are chronic can take a week from fill requests to being ready. I have given up on them and only go here if a script accidentally gets sent. Like I legitimately sometimes wonder if it is a front operation for some shady dealings because it barely functions as a pharmacy. read more

Not the type to write these reviews but I came here yesterday during the pharmacy's lunch hours then had to go to work. No big deal. I have hives from an allergic reaction and could not get my prescription. No big deal. I had dealt with the burning and itching all night, and could hardly sleep or stand it. The pharmacy has the most horrific customer service anywhere. Whatever their system is to fulfill orders and actually serve customers it needs to be thrown out and rebuilt... Always a long slow line with the workers behind the counter ignoring it, once you finally get to the counter, they will tell you that your order won't be ready for another 30 minutes and to go sit down and wait for them to move their azzes. We love Rite Aid. This location is one of the few Rite Aid locations here in Orange County where you can get the rapid 2 Day turn around COVID-19 test. They make it very safe and easy to do so. You schedule the test appointment time and date via their website only. Call in won't work. The system seems to prefer you use a gmail account to set up your profile and appointment. If you don't have a gmail account already, the interface gives you an easy option to set one up at the time of your scheduling it. We had a very easy and pleasant experience with the system. Appointments only until early evening. Ours was at 6pm. Safe distancing. Done via their drive through window. We got the negative results easily afterwards. Highly recommend them. Naturally, you're going to need at least 3-4 days advance time for scheduling your appointment. read more

Went in at 9:30 (they close at 10) the place was dead, minus two ladies checking out at the register. I wait by the thrifty ice cream to get my order when the guy in charge asks me if I'm here for icecream to which I reply yes. He says they're closed? I reply I thought you guys close at 10? He says tgrt do but they're shortstaffed and because of that they're closed. There was no one there that was next... he basically closed shop before it was time and left early since there was no one there to hold him accountable I guess. read more

I shop here and cash in scratchers every now and then. Decent selection, they have good discounts on the Thrifty Ice Cream cartons often and on other stuff too. Had a bad experience with customer service there yesterday that was totally rectified today by the Manager Robert. Came in to cash a couple scratchers one night in late April (5/23 to be exact). The clerk scanned both and paid out the $30 winner but realized he didn't have enough for the $100 winner (unless I wanted 20 $5s). I said I'd come back another time so I took back my scratcher and the receipt. Flew out for a weeklong vacation the next day so the first time I had a chance to cash it in was Wednesday 5/2. I told the situation to the assistant manager who refused to pay the winner, essentially alluding to me being paid the winner and stealing the ticket to cash it in twice. I'm an Attorney and wouldn't risk my reputation and freedom trying to double dip on scratchers. Anyway I remained polite, but in hindsight, he's an asshat. I think I may of used words that went over his head. I gotta remember not everyone knows what swindling is lol. Wish I remembered his name to apprise others of his lack of knowledge and lack of good customer service. (He gets a negative 2 star rating) Ok, forward to this morning (the next day 5/3). I went in and the first person I encountered was the Manager, Robert. Just the person I was looking for! I explained the situation and asked him to take a peek at the surveillance to see what occurred on the night of April 23. After a few minutes he came back and saw I was telling the truth and cashed out the ticket for $100. Robert was nothing short of courteous and understanding. He gets Six stars in my book (hence the four star review after factoring in the assistant manager haha). In my opinion, he should be in like a regional director position where he's directing/managing the managers as he'd provide the correct leadership and guidance for all when it comes to proper customer service. Semi-unrelated to the review but I won another $100 scratcher last night, lucky me! They didn't have the $ to cash out both $100 winners at the time so I didn't have him scan that one lol, but will stop by to cash it in after work! read more

I guess if you live long enough, you get to experience almost every type of event. She did not have the courtesy to ask me anything, no explanation. I will never go back to a place like that. I usually like Rite Aids but this one had absolutely awful customer service. I try to buy my drugstore makeup here because they usually have excellent customer service and a good return policy if the color is wrong. Plus I can get a scoop of ice cream at the same time! The guy who was helping me- middle aged Indian guy, was completely rude to me during the entire checkout. I know customer service can be tough so I was trying to be really polite and patient but he was condescending and just seemed constantly annoyed. I had a return and he didn't even give me a receipt. I thought that was weird and I asked for one but he said he couldn't do it. What store doesn't give a receipt or keep a log of a return? Anyways, this one is close to my house and newly renovated but I may venture to another drugstore or the other Rite Aid down Harbor instead. The pharmacy is incredible. Every staff member work so hard and are ALWAYS on top of things. Shayna for example saw a glitch regarding my moms coverage I believe and before I could blink corrected the issue in all of 5 seconds. Friendly and highly competent pharmacists always on top of everything including vaccinations my moms own doctors can't handle for whatever reason. I call in the 10 prescriptions my elderly mother needs I have them. If her doctors fail to approve refills these pharmacists are already on the phone before me requesting urgent approvals with the doctors. I could have automatic mailed refills but honestly this rite aid makes it so easy I don't see the need. I'm sticking with them forever! Also fantastic hours they stay open til! I love them! Talk about a MAKEOVER! Out of all of the Rite Aid's I've been this one is so clean and bright! It was so inviting which is rare to say about any drugstore. You'd be surprised if a store is clean and how the overall appearance of the store can enhance the shopping experience. 100% of the aisles in the store were so organized and nothing was out of place! Whoever is running this store is doing an excellent job and definitely trains their staff. When it was time to checkout, I was greeted by a friendly cashier and I informed her of how nice and clean the store is! So I hope her manager reads this review because their doing an excellent job! I am extremely disappointed by this Rite Aid. I have been using their Amazon lockers for my purchases the past 2 months (I order 1-2 times every week from Amazon). I will also buy a few additional items I need while there. This past Saturday, 1-2-2021 at about 2:45PM, I was using their rolling hand cart my Amazon packages and an item I wanted to purchase from Rite Aid. I have a very painful back and the rolling hand cart was very helpful to me not to have to lift and carry the heavy and awkward Amazon boxes throughout the store as I shopped. After my purchase, I had planned on rolling the cart out to my car (parked right outside the front door), emptying it into my car, and then rolling the cart back inside to Rite Aid. The female employee who checked me out at the front yelled loudly at me before I left the store, "You can't take that cart outside the store!" I told her that 2 shopping carts were already outside. It didn't matter to her. She was rigid in her announcement. I stooped down to pick up the heavy Amazon boxes, further strained my already painful back, and left the cart inside by the front door. I plan on looking for another location to have my Amazon orders delivered to and taking my drug store business elsewhere. There are cameras all over the place, even if I DID want to steal their rolling cart. I sincerely hope this young woman never has a back injury and is treated with so little understanding as she did with me. read more

Terrible service. There was a line of customers 10 deep with only one checkout person. The other person, a lady behind the counter was stacking cigarettes. She looked at the long line several times, but kept working on the cigarettes and talking to another person behind the counter that was supposed to be working the ice cream counter where customers were also waiting. After she was done talking to him and stacking the cigarettes she finally opened a register. I ask you, what's more important, paying customers or stacking cigarettes? This is the worst store to go into. The staff is never helpful or polite. I just brought my son and boyfriend for ice cream and other items and the man working at the counter was rude and impatient. I asked a question on the size of something and he refused to answer what the size is. Really customer service is not a priority here. Management allows them to be rude to people and doesn't attempt to fix it. I used to think it was just a bad day when I went in but it's every time I go in there. Lesson learned! I want to write a review about the store not the pharmacy. I am VERY dissapointed with the service here. I am a big rite aid fanatic but man what a bummer to go into to this one and be treated so rudely. We came in the store to buy a pregnancy test which for me was very important and when we walked in we were immediately told they closed in three minutes in a not nice tone. Then I barely got to where I was looking and I was told they were closed, again rudely. Then they began to shut down the lights and lock the doors. I will NEVER be back to this costa Mesa rite aid again and will make sure my family does not go there either. Thank goodness the rite aid in my area has considerate friendly employees. I have finally gone to this pharmacy for the LAST time... I have not had one ONE good experience here since I first went a year ago. I went today to drop off two prescriptions. Just to drop off and it took 15 minutes to tell me they didn't have either of them in stock and had to order both. If you shop here and need assistance from an employee, avoid Lawag. Actually, you don't have to. He'll avoid you. My girlfriend needed perfume unlocked and pressed the employee alert for the perfume case. Lawag looks up, makes eye contact with us, and goes back to setting up his display. Okay, maybe he doesn't have the keys or isn't responsible for the perfume case that day. We press the alert again, he looks up, makes eye contact with us again, and goes back to what he's doing. I walked over and asked if someone can unlock a case of perfume for us and he says he'll be right over. He goes back to his display, waits for a line of 3 customers to form, rings up each customer, then goes back to his display. When I remind him we're waiting for him to unlock perfume for us, he "apologizes" and gets the perfume and holds it behind the counter. I let him know we were being rang up in the back of the store at the pharmacy counter. He walks the perfume back to the store, and slams it on the pharmacy counter. For the most part, my experiences at this Rite Aid location have been good. The employees were generally helpful and friendly. Avoid Lawag. Let him set up his display and don't bother him. He'll make it very clear his job isn't to help customers. read more
