Whoever is there first checker is extremely rude. I asked if I could make a money order to pay my rent, she rudely replied yes and they don't accept any cards. When I asked why she huffed and said "we just don't " even though it says online you can use a debit card and cash, then when I asked for a manger she got more of an attitude. Yeah, there is something of an atmosphere out of Nathaniel West at the Rite Aid, but the somewhat depressed employees are helpful and you can find all those Rite Aid things you think you need. Someone should water the poor bedding plants, though. read more

I stopped going to Rite Aid a couple of years ago. I had a monthly co-pay on my prescriptions of $70. Several months in a row, when I went to puck up my prescriptions, the demanded the $70 before I could get the meds. The total cost of the meds was usually under $30! When I said that it was very rare that I would even reach $30, much less $70, they still demanded the money. I went to the pay phone and called my doctors office. They transferred my meds, etc. to Walgreens who rarely charged the co-pay. Rite Aid was about to restrain me (a 67 year old female) until I paid for something I didn't receive. My doctor moved all my meds to Walgreens and I have been happy there since. read more

I was in the Rite Aid in Fortuna looking for a bottle of shampoo and there was an employee (or so I thought was an employee...He turned out to be the store manager.) and he was hacking and coughing next to me, not covering his mouth and was blowing spit spray all over the merchandise!! very understaffed but as far as I can tell the people who are there, are doing their best. I go here regularly, mostly to the pharmacy. They are very helpful and sweet. They do what they can and sometimes other things are out of their control. Sure, a few employees seem to dislike being there, but I can't blame them. Wouldn't even give it ONE star if I could get away with it. I am from out of state, towing with a 35' travel trailer, and need to have a Schedule II prescription filled. I have the prescription written by my physician in Colorado in hand (secure, all that). The barely English speaking pharmacist told me they would not fill this prescription as "it is against California law to fill a Schedule II drug from out-of-state". I called my Dr., he told me this person must have been misinformed, that they should be able to run his DEA number to ensure all is in order. I did my research and is IS LEGAL to fill this prescription. I notified the pharmacist to review California Code of Regulations Section 1717 (d) and CA Business & Professions Code Section 4005 (b). To top it off, I also wanted to refill a Schedule 4 drug ONE WEEK EARLY (since I am on the road). The last refill was 5/24...she told me she could only refill it two days before 6/24. Again, my research indicates that a schedule 4 drug can be filled at 75% (which would be about one week early). The trouble is, Rite Aid did the prescription transfer from my CO Safeway Pharmacy into Rite Aid's system before informing me of ANOTHER rule - once a schedule 4 drug has been transferred, it cannot be transferred again. So it is sitting in the Rite Aid computer system, and I can not fill it at another pharmacy. Of course, no body told me this when I initially ordered my prescriptions, nobody called to tell me about these (misinformed) rules (I gave them my cell phone number), and I waited the polite 24-hours before going in to pick them up...that's when I found all this crap out. Today I walked into Rite Aid, asked where are the iPhone 6 Chargers? the lady replied aisle 3. I went to all three, and well. Aisle 3 is lotions and Beauty Supplies. I only come to this Rite Aid for one or two things so I don't really know where everything is at or how the store is catgorized. I literally walked in and out of Rite Aid twice to go get my cousin who was in the car waiting and she lives out of town, so she can direct me where the Chargers were. If a customer has to walk in and out of a store to go get another customer to ask for directions to an item is, that is the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. I went to go pay for the phone charger and when I did I got hassled at the register. Once I paid with a bill the clerk immediately changed her tune. I know it's the time of the year around the holidays, but that still is unacceptable. read more

On September 18, 2016 I was admitted to the hospital with a heart attack, and three stents were implanted. On October 3, 2016 I went to my doctor to be seen about a cyst that was in my armpit that had been there for over two weeks, and was showing no signs of healing on its own. It had to be excised. I explained that I was on a blood thinner, and the doctor knew this would be a difficult procedure but could see that I was in a lot of pain and the procedure needed to be done. The procedure was painful as expected. He bandaged me up and directed me to come back at any time if the bleeding worsened. He prescribed me pain meds. I went to Rite Aid to pick up the pain meds. I was in pain and the blood was soaking up the side of my shirt. I waited in the drop off line. The woman in front of me said "I'm not in any rush, but could you check on this too..." When her business was concluded the pharmacy tech left the window to address another matter before coming back to me. When the tech returned and saw my doctor's prescription she said they could not accept it because the doctor had not hand written the date. The pharmacist came over to exclaim the same thing. Can't you just call the doctor? I asked. "No sir, sorry". "You're telling me I have to drive back BLEEDING, to the doctor just for a damn date?" "Yes, sorry sir". I returned to the doctor and he applied pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding (this also caused more pain). He thought the response of the Pharmacist was ridiculous because he also entered the prescription in the computer which had the date. My shirt had to be disposed because there was so much blood on it. I returned to the pharmacy wearing a hospital smock tucked into my shorts. At this point it would have been appropriate for a pharmacy tech to recognize me and say "You don't need to wait sir, let me help you. I assume the doctor has put the date on it?" I had to stand there in line, in pain, in a hospital smock, and wait to get to the tech at the drop off window. I asked him how long it would be. He said "possibly about 5 o clock." I went to the front of the store, waited in line, and then did a return and purchase. When I came back to the pharmacy, I asked the tech, "How much longer will it be?" His response, "I don't know, the pharmacist hasn't approved it yet, but she's on the phone right now". I sweared under my breath and left the store. I called to verify the prescription was ready, and I informed them that was the last prescription I would ever have filled there. Upon pick up the pharmacist attempted to apologist by reciting the policy. I interrupted her and said "I understand you have rules that you must follow that don't allow you to apply common sense". I turned to the other tech at the register and said "A damn date. She sent me back to the doctor's office in a blood soaked shirt for a damn date". I turned around and left the store. When I got home I could feel my blood pounding so I checked my blood pressure. It was dangerously spiking at 200+ over 100+. I called 911. They sent an ambulance and insisted on bringing me to the hospital. I spent the next 4+ hours in Emergency as they ran various tests. I explained to the emergency room staff that I was in there because of the stress caused by Rite Aid pharmacy. It was determined that I had not had a heart attack. I have been in a Walmart Pharmacy where the policy is you should never have to wait in line twice for the exact same thing, and they skip you to the front if that is the case. Common decency would dictate that more attention is given to a person in obvious signs of distress. On principal I will never use a Rite Aid again. read more

Had a $2 coupon off $10 purchase. Bought over $10 milk and nuts; also bought beer. Wouldn't take the coupon; manager too lazy to ring up separately after the fact, so he tried to convince me that milk was excluded. Bullshit. Terrible public relations. I don't give a shit about the $2, but the inability of the manager to simply tell the truth is bad. read more
