Always has the lowest price in town and most of Mendocino county for fuel. I think their deli section is pretty decent as well.

After a morning of canoeing Big River, we stopped in for lunch. The Harvest Burger, tuna melt, Reuben, and Chipotle Chicken Sandwich were all incredible. In fact, we loved it so much that before heading home a few days later, we made one last stop. This time we tried the Philly cheesesteak, BBQ chicken sandwiches, and I couldn't resist getting the Chipotle Chicken again--it was just that good! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The service was friendly, the portions were great, and it's exactly the kind of small local spot that makes a trip memorable. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Mendocino!

We decided to go right at opening the following day. I ordered the chipotle chicken on whole wheat, and my boyfriend got the crab cheddar on Dutch crunch. The chipotle chicken was so savory and amazing. The bacon, chipotle sauce, and tender chicken all went together so well with the veggies. We also got a cup of clam chowder that was delicious and hearty. Super fresh seafood that would warm you right up on a cold day in Mendocino. They have some board games on the side of the restaurant that you can play while you wait for your food. I would 1000% come back on my next trip.

What a great market/general store! It has everything your desires and more…read more I got here right when they opened in the morning and primarily the locals were in getting things for the day. The store is much larger than I anticipated and they have an amazing array of fresh produce, just as you enter the place. It's best to scope out the store and check out all that's available. The aisles meander and you may find things were It's least expected. They have a good looking meat counter and lots of typical market items, plus local things too. I was on a quest for breakfast things and amazed to fine very nicely packaged breakfast sandwiches and burritos made by the store in a refrigerator case. I grabbed several. The store is a bit rustic yet clean and well organized, and there's lots beyond just food items at one end of the store. The woman who checked me out was very pleasant and friendly. If you're looking for something to eat, or fill up on groceries, this is it.

When we first checked in, we were told about this market and given directions to it. We were glad for that as we found it to be a well stocked and reasonably priced place to get food for our picnic on the cliff and snacks for the other days of our stay. The selection is great and the prices are very reasonable.

The Peg House has a cute gift shop, general store with booze and basics (famous brownies and ginormous cookies!) and next door is the outdoor restaurant. It has a great vibe, owner took out orders and you KNOW by the taste and food service how much love and thought goes into this place! We had: Grilled Chicken w/brie Bigfoot Burger Classic Cheeseburger All came with coleslaw and that was great too! We plan on making this a pitstop from now on. Everything was delicious and there was live music on stage. **if you're camping get wood here too-it's a great price for the large bundle. Thanks Peg House!

I ordered the lost coast burger and with tax it was $20. It came with a small portion of broccoli coleslaw that I really liked- and thankfully my two companions did not so I got a triple portion. The burger was fine. Not the greasy smash burger experience I was craving, but it tasted fresh. Served on a ciabatta roll... from Costco? Unconfirmed, but that's what it tasted like. I would have preferred brioche or something more fluffy. I ate every crumb because post hike hunger. I wouldn't come again though. The service was good and everyone was nice- just overpriced for the product, IMO. The outdoor seating was nice and it looks like sometimes there is live music. The bathrooms were gross. Smelled horrible and dirty. There is a campground or some sort of rv park right behind that may also be sharing the restrooms.
