Well here we go again. I go in to purchase some vitamins and there was a sign saying BUY 2 GET ONE FREE. So I selected two bottles of one of the vitamins and took them to the counter. The cashier charged me for both bottles and when I questioned her she said "You have to have a Rite Aid Card" No sign at the vitamin shelving indicating I needed to be a Ride Aid Member! So I paid for the vitamins with a credit card and the cashier said "you are good to go". I asked, could I please have my receipt and her comment was NO, the machine did not print one. I reminded her that by law they are required to provide a customer a receipt and her comment was that this Rite Aid Store was all screwed up and refused! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE !!! read more

At the risk of providing evidence of how ancient I am, I must admit that I have been shopping here since the 80's. Back when it was called Thrifty Drugs, then later PayLess Drug Stores, and now Rite Aid. Way before pharmacies like CVS started cropping up in every corner. Growing up in a small town like Watsonville, you had limited places to shop. Basically you either shopped here (formerly Thrifty Drugs), Woolworths, and Kmart for your prescriptions, over the counter medication, and for a quick, convenient location to pick up every day needs/general merchandise. I realize the younger generations reading this won't even know what Thrifty Drugs and Woolworths are. Let's just say that in the 80's these two stores, when combined, are equivalent to modern day Target stores. With the exception that Thrifty was also an ice cream shop where you could purchase ice cream by the scoop like Baskin-Robbins. Whereas Woolworths had everyday goods, including a pet store section where I purchased my first goldfish pet. Anyway, as a kid, I always looked forward to going to Thrifty with my parents because it always meant I would get treated to a scoop of ice cream of my choice on a cake cone. Back when I was little a scoop of Thrifty ice cream cost you just ten cents! Now a scoop of ice cream from Rite Aid is $1.99. I am glad that although Thrifty no longer exists, their ice cream lives on. You can still get a distinctive, cylinder-shaped scoop of ice cream at this Rite Aid and a few other West Coast stores. Thrifty's award winning ice cream has been around since the 1940's! It is quite the feat that until this day Thrifty's ice cream is still being sold despite the overwhelming competition. Many Thrifty ice cream recipes have remained unchanged for over 50 years! A California-based company continues to churn out quality, delicious ice cream that is made with real pieces of fruit and cookie, along with Real California Milk. I like that they have kept the nostalgic graphics and images on the tubs of ice cream being sold at Rite Aid. The vintage imagery really takes me back to my childhood. Remarkably until this day you can purchase a scoop of Thrifty's ice cream and even 48 oz. tubs of your favorite flavor. There isn't any other location in this area, where you can pick up your prescription medication and a scoop of ice cream. Talk about convenience! Especially on a hot, summer day. There are quite a few pharmacies in every town. Unfortunately the cashiers that ring up your prescription medication purchase and those that work at the main store's front counter are not usually the friendliest. I get it, they deal with the public as a whole and people can be impatient when it comes to picking up their medication. Honestly, nobody enjoys picking up medication. However when you do, you want to be treated with respect and for the pharmacy staff to not only be knowledgeable but courteous and friendly. This pharmacy has it right. All cashiers are generally friendly and helpful. The store is clean and modern with hardwood floors or laminate. I like how well lite and organized this store is. They have a decent amount of inventory and great sales too. Don't overlook the grocery and snack isles. There are often great sales to be found there. I'm not saying you can buy meat and produce here. They are mostly snack items and dry grocery goods. You will be surprised to find items way below their normal selling price when compared to a grocery store. I think the reason for this is because nobody goes here primarily to purchase groceries. Since they are not their best selling items and need to be rotated before their expiration date, they price food items at a really low promotional prices to get them out the door. Honestly I think that besides the pharmaceutical items, the alcohol being sold here is also a best seller. I haven't personally purchased alcohol here but I do see a lot of customers purchasing alcohol. Prescription medication and alcohol. Sounds like a party! Lol I think the biggest draw to pharmacies selling goods other than your typical medication is not only the low prices and sales but the convenience. I am not a fan of waiting in line (who is) and most times there is no line here or a very small one. So if you are picking up medication, why not shop around a bit. There may be an item or two here on your shopping list! Also while you're at it, why not try their award-winning ice cream by the scoop and feel like a kid again. read more

Went to pick up my VERY SICK mother inlaws scripts which was not ready yesterday and which by the way was called in yesterday at 145 pm. Today when i got there at 9:00 which is when they are supposed to open, the doors were shut, at 9:05 they open but were busy counting there money and talking with each other while 4 people were in line. When it was my turn they told me it wasn't ready and to come back in half an hr which i did but one of the meds was an inhaler and they did not have. When the pharmasist VV came to council I asked way it was not ready and she said VERY RUDELY they were busy to which I responded that is no excuse as my mother inlaw was extremely sick and she just turned and walked away no sorry or anything. I quit going here because of the extremely poor customer service. I have been a supervisor in customer service for many years and would have been fired if i acted like that. We will be transfering to CVS at target where the staff has their act together and are awsome. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOURS OR A LOVED ONES HEALTH DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY THEY DON'T CARE. Also I worked in the medical field for 18 years and my wife is a Certified Pharmacy Tech so we know what should be expected. read more

VERY disappointed in today's shopping experience at this store. I needed some essential items so I walked in the store...found my products...walked up to the register. NO ONE was there. I looked around only to see a very large man strolling up the aisle toward the registers. I thought he was a shopper. He said NOTHING...for example "I'll be right with you". NOTHING. I looked at him and he continued to stroll by me and finally, slowly....walked to a register. He rang up my items without a word. NO customer service with this guy!! He appeared half asleep or very bored. No smile...nothing. I gathered my items and left. I realize these are hard times and it is tough getting competent and friendly employees...but this guy was something else! VERY off-putting. read more

Pissed off. I transferred all my prescriptions to rite aide. Shorter lines. I can't get my 12 prescriptions online or on the app. Way too complicated! It would make me feel so much better if I could access My information to keep on top of what prescriptions I need. I gotta keep a notebook so I don't lose track and just order refills individually. Cause now I can't access my account or create a new one after customer service said they would cancel my account so I could start over. This is specifically for the Pharmacy, the store and employees seem fine and friendly. The Pharmacist Vy seems to not take patient's safety into consideration at all. My mom was released from hospital yesterday and two days prior the hospital called all her prescriptions in. The pharmacy text me dad that they were all ready the same day. We knew this was untrue. Once my mom was released and on her way home I stopped by to pick up all her Prescriptions. She had 8 which according to the text two days prior were all ready for pick up. Not the case I received 4 and told 1 other would be ready in 15 minutes and her insulin would be in the following day by 3pm. I said I do not think that will work based n the fact I know she was getting it 3x a day possibly. The Pharmacist Vy said oh is that a problem? I said yes I am no doctor but I believe when people do not get the insulin they need timely they might die. She said oh I have one pen I can give you until the others come in. I could not believe she's asking me if its an issue! I said OK Ill be back in 15 minutes. By the way they never said anything about the other 2 meds we are still missing. I go back an 1hr later, They give me the 1 med and the substitute insulin. I go home we test my mom at 847pm we realize we do not have the needle that attached to the insulin pen. Luckily they are open till 9pm. I call and asked why i did not received she says oh sorry she has so many prescriptions me missed it. What??? How was I going to give it to her?? I walked in to get thinking it was just something that was included, no that will 15.00 , OK now I have to go back to my car get my wallet and walk back in. I pay and tell her that she taking peoples lives her hands by missing prescriptions this important. She just stares at me with no sorry nothing, but does have the nerve to ask if I need anything else, so I said well I think that is a question I should be asking you. Again no word on the other 2 RX she has still never mentioned. So today I get to return and get the promised insulin and ask where the other Rx are since they seem to have "missed" those too one being a steroid to keep swelling on my moms brain down. But to her oops! I have to say RiteAid you need to re look at the people you are putting in charge of others lives. You are going to be held responsible for these individuals who do not care. read more

I waited in the pharmacy line to ask a question. At the counter was an elderly woman asking about her medication. I believe she was having surgery in the near future. The pharmicist was so good. He explained the medications and whether or not there would be side effects. He told her what not to take with the medication and told her that she needed to call the doctors office a week before her surgery to see if she needed to stop taking a blood thinner. This gentleman was what a pharmicist should be. Caring. Kudos for Rite-Aid. read more

Saved 150.00 month by switching to Aptos this rite aid wont honor rx coupons but Aptos store did just cause I had medicare the watsonville location refused to give me a discount thanks to the clerk who told me to go to the Aptos store that they would let me use rx discounts .I can't believe same store chain could make up there own rule . read more

This location is good with lots of parking. It is right next to Safeway, Big lots and the Post office. With the recent remodel, the store looks very cheerful and spacious. The main reason for the 5 star yelp is for the service at the pharmacy from the sales associate Rodrigo. He remembers the names of my family members and goes straight to look for the medicine and looks if any other family members have medicine ready as well. My family takes A LOT of medication and he is always helpful and friendly and smiley. He is the true example of great customer service. He should get promoted or get a holiday bonus. read more

I had to give a star but really it should be 0 stars. The phamacist named michael was the rudest pharmacist weve ever met or talked to he was rude to me and my parents and my parents doctors office. Then he has the nerve to lye and say that mi was rude to him. To prove it my mothers doctors office is willing to writ a note about his rudness me and my parents dont want to ever deal with that guy ever again he should be fired or switched to a different location far far away. I already made a complaint with corporate so I hope they do something soon about this guy michael asap before he is rude to more people . This Rite Aid deserves one star max. Unlike others, my judgement isn't impaired by alcohol. In other words, I'm not writing this review drunk. I have gone to the Rite Aid near the mall in Santa Cruz and when they scoop your ice cream, they're generous. However, the Rite Aid in Watsonville is the total opposite, they scoop small little scoops. I only go to Rite Aid for ice cream so I never go to the Rite Aid in Watsonville. read more
