Other than the one time frustrating experience, the pharmacy always gets my medications correct and I opted in to get text messages which enables me to get a link to get my prescriptions delivered. I prepay online when my insurance doesn't cover it all. Yes, the pharmacy lines are long and i try to prepare a lot of time when I do go into the store or make sure i have no plans after. However I think all the bad reviews regarding long lines should not be directed at CVS; the U.S. healthcare system is so inefficient, and those are the issues we should be talking about. I am grateful that CVS provides the medications I need when I need them, and i'm sorry that others have not been able to get the prescriptions when they did.

What the hell? This place sucks donkey balls!! Staples was closed down the street and I decided to stop here and see if they had any little monthly planners. I hadn't been in here since they changed ownership and are now CVS/Pharmacy, but man, it's definitely gone down hill. They installed carpet which feels weird in a drug store. I would think carpet would be a pain to clean if liquids are spilled. Wouldn't it be easier to mop up linoleum floors? I don't know, it just feels really cheap, almost like I'm walking into the 99 cent store. Considering Target is their biggest competition, I would have felt they would have kept the old design which was much nicer and tried to make their displays better, but I guess not. I'm srue they have some good deals like Walgreens has, but considering how the store looks now, I don't know if I want to go back. I'd rather just go to Walgreens (and I don't like that store) or Target. I remember the days when this was Payless Drugs. I loved coming here when it was under that company as I used to pick up all my school supplies, cleaning stuff, medications, etc. But then it changed to Rite Aid, Longs and now it's CVS. I'm a bit surprised this space is still occupied, but I guess it's better than it becoming another discount mall. Then again, the chances that will happen are pretty high.

At 3pm the line has almost 30 people in line for the pharmacy, 15 in line for regular cashiers, and no additional help being called in.

This review is for the CVS Pharmacy in Watsonville. We were surprised the shelfs were so empty.

So my rating of this CVS is really for when I got my Covid shots. The process was very easy online…read more Make sure to sign up to create a CVS account so once you make an appt for the Covid shot, the online check in once you are texted, it makes things super easy. Once you arrive, check in also at the front Covid vaccine desk then get in line in the back of the store where the Covid shots are given by the pharmacy. They ask a few questions then you sign their pad then get your shot. You are done! You wait 15min after the shot in their waiting area by the front store. Jojo and the staff are pretty nice and helpful. They didn't hurt me giving me the shot. The store itself is pretty clean but the shelves are not very well stocked. The store is very busy in this Watsonville town and maybe why as they seem understaffed. They have plenty of private parking. I tried to rate it fair during this pandemic and thought they did ok. I had a prescription to pick up on a Sunday and because it was a weekend and I got the prescription…read more through Good RX, I somehow had it sent to both Main St ( the usual one I go to) and Rodriguez St. CVS locations. Because I knew it was a Sunday and things close early - I did a quick google search to get directions and see what the hours were for "CVS Pharmacy Watsonville" and the hours specifically for the pharmacy said that the CVS pharmacy, not just the store, but the pharmacy on Main St was closing soon at 6, but the one on Rodriguez was open until 11pm. I chose to go to the Rodriguez St one since I was closer and went through the drive through, before 6 pm. The Closed sign was up, but I could see the employees through the window helping people so I went inside and got in line behind several people, still several minutes before 6pm. The pharmacy tech behind the counter abruptly started closing windows, locking up and shooing away the line, she had her register out counting cash and told everyone in line, who had all been there BEFORE 6pm that they were closed and just to come back tomorrow. I checked my phone and it had just turned 6pm exactly, she was clearly counting down the seconds to leave. As I approached the window the same tech continued yelling "We're closed!" "Cerrado!" I tried explaining that I had been there before 6pm both at the closed drive through and the line inside, but she kept interrupting that they were closed and to come back in the morning. The guy behind the counter seemed afraid of her too and just kept saying they close at 6. I pulled up the hours that were still on my phone that showed it said that the pharmacy was open until 11pm, and I said even if that is an error and they closed at 6, I was at the drive through and then even in line BEFORE 6pm. To not help people who arrived in line and waited in line before 6pm is crazy. I had a painful UTI that was on day 3 without antibiotics, because it was a weekend and hard to get a doctor's prescription, which I told her through the window and basically shared with the whole line because I was so desperate for antibiotics. The tech was so unfriendly and could care less, she could've at least just said she was sorry, store policy, not in her control, anything really - but she was in such a rush to shut down and leave. Even my little girl with me kept saying how mean the lady was as we left. I called after to ask when the drive through closes on Sunday and who was overseeing the pharmacy to discuss how alarmingly rude the customer service was and they couldn't give me a definitive answer, they just kept saying they have a new pharmacist and new management. I know I sound like a total Karen, but my pain and need for antibiotics combined with the pharmacy tech's disregard for all of the people who had been clearly waiting in line for medicine was so appalling. I work in restaurants and have for 20 plus years so I know that it's annoying when people come in right at closing, but we still have to serve them if they sit a few minutes before closing. When it comes to medication - a pharmacy needs to have accurate hours that come up on a google search and they should train their team to really honor their actual hours and the customers that ARE IN LINE in BEFORE closing. I went to the other CVS on Main St first thing the next morning and they couldn't have been more professional and helpful. Highly recommend them:) Don't waste your time with the Rodriguez St pharmacy - based on the other reviews I doubt this is just a one off situation and they have some serious customer service issues.
