My issue is with the pharmacy. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They never answer their phones - they text that scripts are ready - then say the text was incorrect when you go to pick up your script. The pharmacy staff is NASTY. Horrible. Act like the patient is putting them out? Hello - they work for the patient. I'm so disgusted with this place - am changing pharmacies ASAP. Lunch break??? What?? I have never in my life went to a pharmacy that takes a lunch break - closes the door - and I hear giggling and talking - there should ALWAYS be a pharmacist available. Love rite aid pharmacy it's my favorite place to go and they know me well there and I love that the customer service steals the show! The place is organized to the hilt and always offers the best deals with food and drinks and an ambiance that tops the list for me as far as I can see! I'm a regular visitor in the pharmacy so I have no problem finding the right prescriptions for my meds and the pharmaceutical staff makes it easy for me! So come on down to Rite Aid and pick up some stuff you will be impressed by the pharmacy and the store they will have some extras for you and leave you wanting more!!! read more

One time me and my group of friends decided to buy late night snacks. Rite aid has great prices but I decided to take my snacking elsewhere because of the late night worker with the attitude. She proceeded to yell at me and say that this facility is not for taste testing when I only PICKED UP my snack. Today i was going out with all of my friends celebrating my early birthday. only problem was that when we entered the manager gave us an attitude. Not even the manager was helpful when I called back. My husband is in the hospital and they won't answer a question on if they sell a type of phone charger. I Went back and tried again, the isles are not stocked well and what is stocked is completely disorganized. Everyone needs phone chargers, they do not have any of the newer ones and what they do have is impossible to sift through. This is the saddest Rite Aid I have been in. I'm shocked at the poor reviews, as my family has been a customer for DECADES and this Rite Aid has always been our first choice listing for doctors. Pharmacists have changed through the years but including today, have always been accurate, helpful and patient answering questions. Plus fast. Our Rx is sent to them from any local area doctor's office and I may have to wait ten minutes til it's filled. Lines are rarely long and move quickly. The store is clean and quiet. I recently had a concern about stopping a drug and got a pharma on the phone right away who gave me a good answer and made me feel calm. I hope others will speak in defense of these hard working, knowledgeable folks. Finally, I always park easily in their free lot. Don't know why people make such an issue of that lot. read more

the eldery nigh time employee with the dark hair and glasses is out of her mind. i love coming there at night because they are one of the few stores open until 11 in greatneck. me and my friends were followed and yelled at multiple times for the most absurd reasons. i understand many people come in there to fool around but when i tell you we did absolutely nothing wrong but discuss which snacks we wanted for a total of 10 minutes. there are so many bad reviews about this women how does she still have a job? read more

Interesting that this pharmacy has such a high rating, and yet is so backwards. I would not know where to start, but I will attempt now to describe just how many things a pharmacy can botch. I've almost lost count at this point. My family is now living in Great Neck, so we decided to use this pharmacy, only because it was the closest one to us. We figured it was a big name pharmacy, and so it would operate as such, and not as a dysfunctional mom-and-pop shop. Here's a simple chronology of our first interaction, where two of us needed prescriptions at the same time, This not only says a lot about this Great Neck site, but also about the chain in general. We first went to this Great Neck location to get a prescription filled. The doctor said she would call it in, but never did. We went to the pharmacy to pick it up, handed them the insurance card and ID, and they said that the doctor had never called it in. By that time, the weekend had started, and so we had to wait until the following Monday to have the doctor call it in, at which time we revisited the Great Neck location. Upon going to the Great Neck location the 2nd time, they said that they got the call, but were unable to fill it because we were new, and that we were not in the system. But they knew this already from the last time we were there, when we handed them the ID and insurance card! Why would they not enter it in then? So, despite the doctor calling it in that Monday, we had to wait a half hour while they filled the prescription. Meanwhile, during this second visit to the Great Neck location, I tried to fill a second prescription for myself. It was also called in by my doctor. They did not have it in stock (a non-ideal sign right there). They told me that they could order it for the following day, but I explained I would be the city the entire weekend, for which they said it wasn't a problem, and that could pick it up from any Rite Aid in the city and that the prescription was "in the system". Note that I also provided the script along with a $0 copay coupon. The following day, I called the nearest Rite Aid (2nd Ave near 34th St.). The IVR of the phone system at Rite Aid makes you press 3 (for pharmacy) twice, and has a bug in it. I verified this, and it applies to all locations. But, eventually, I did get through to the pharmacy at 2nd Ave. They too said that they didn't see the script in the system! As was promised to me by the pharmacy dept. in Great Neck. So they either lied, or were incredibly incompetent. The pharmacist at 2nd Ave was not helpful either. She said she didn't have it, and that I'd have to call around. I asked her if there was a way to check the inventory on the computer to see what other locations might have it, and she said this was not possible. I then started calling around to other locations, the next one being Grand Central. I waited in the IVR for about 15 minutes before I realized that the pharmacy dept. would never pick up. I then dialed in via another option, and told them about the phone issues I was experiencing. They patched me into the pharmacy dept finally, who said that they too didn't have the medication, but that 14th St. did. I asked he they knew, and she said "I can see it in the computer". So this means that the girl at 2nd Ave didn't even know how to use the computer. The only reason I gave Rite Aid 2 stars instead of 1 is that the pharmacist at 14th St (a male, with an accent, maybe Chinese) was very kind, made sure to explain all of the options to me, took his time with me, followed through, called back as promised, and had the prescription delivered to me quickly. One single helpful person in a tangle of nonsense. This pharmacy failed me miserably. I hope CVS is better. read more

If i could zero star i would. I was in need of my prescription high blood pressure machine. Which my insurance paid for delivery. Normally i would go get it my self.but this time i was unable to .i have called this pharmacy ask for refill and delivery they told me the delivery person was back already so the next day. the next morning call 8.15 am letting them know i am out of medication and please deliver it early the took my delivery info and said it will be delivered. At 12.30pm no delivery. I called from 12.30 until 2.30 pm before someone answered me.to say the delivery person have been back.and they cant delivery today.same thing as the day before I said this happened to me yesterday and i told the lady my head is now hurting from no meds and is the same story again. So i said am supposed to end up in the hospital. She i dont know. Hold on a minute. I hold on she came back to the phone and said i cant help you if you need it you have to come in and pick it up.i said do you think if i could pick it up i wouldn't it my meds.she hang up the phone in my ear. I had to called my regular cab driver gave hi my info to go get the meds.they dont care about people i never treated a costomer that way .and when my cab driver went there the prescription haven't even filled. He had to wait 10mins for it that mean after more the 24 hours of call left messages speaking to people they did not even have the courtesy of filling the prescription something as high blood pressure medication. Very friendly pharmacy staff. They're extremely helpful. I always get my prescriptions filled on time with hardly any waiting. Plus even with the long lines there they do move fast. The cashiers are very efficient and I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 5 minutes...even during the busiest time. I took off a star for lack of parking. read more

This is a great Rite Aid! I'm usually a CVS gal, myself, but this place was well laid out, well stocked, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I was asked multiple times by multiple people if they could help me find something. I was also asked if I wanted a flu shot (I didn't, but thanks!). Despite a big line, I got checked out fast. You do have to pay for street parking, so go into the lot for free parking. read more

I had the absolute worst customer service at this location. I shop here often at night since it's 24 hours. I had a 30% off coupon that I presented when checking out- it was printed out and given to me along with my receipt the last time I went shopping here. I gave the cashier- her name is Annette the coupon and she scanned it and said it doesn't work. So I asked her why and she said she didn't know. I asked her to try again and she just kept telling me it doesn't work so I asked if she would call the manager maybe he could figure out why its not working. The manager Lloyd comes over and scans the coupon and he said- the same thing- it doesn't work. I said I know it doesn't work thats why we called you over but can you tell me why it doesn't work. And he says its not your coupon. I say of course it my coupon I used my plenty card and the cashier the last time I was here gave it to me along with my receipt - I saw it print out. And he said no its not your coupon, and he walks away. Ridiculous... So I tell Annette to forget about the purchases, she takes the coupon away and I say actually let me hold on to that bc I might want to call the plenti card # and see why they didn't honor this coupon. And then she starts out of nowhere yelling at me saying "WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU MA'AM" WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CALL THE NUMBER, HE ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT THE COUPON DOESN'T WORK, WHATS WRONG WITH YOU. There was no reason for her to start yelling at me like that!!! What a crazy woman....I said I have the right to call and inquire if I want to and while I'm at it, I should complain about you because you're being really unprofessional- don't yell at me like that. And then she's out of control like a rabid animal- she's screaming at me to get the hell out of the store- she just repeatedly keeps yelling that while shes inching closer to me in threatening manner, pointing her finger at me-" MY NAME IS ANNETTE YOU GO AHEAD AND REPORT ME AND SEE IF I GIVE A SHIT YOU LITTLE B****." I take my phone out and immediately start recording her after she cursed at me and then she gets angry at me for doing that- she's saying "oh go ahead and post that on youtube, see if care." The manager heard her screaming- there were a few other customers in the store that walked up to the front in shock of what was happening. Lloyd came up yelling "WHATS THE PROBLEM" he didn't do anything to diffuse the situation - he didn't hear out what I had to say- he was clearly on the cashiers side without even knowing what happened! Obviously this wasn't going to be resolved with Lloyd as the manager. I am NEVER coming back here again- switching pharmacies and I will do my shopping at CVS from now on read more

Good luck trying to check out of this place in under 20 minutes. It's the only store where it takes more time to check out than it does to shop. The staff is actually pretty friendly, but I don't even know why they have more than one register up front, they never have more than one open. The place is usually pretty well stocked and it's not hard to find the things you're looking for, but they have GOT to improve the check out process. Sometimes you just don't want to spend your day stuck behind some bozo looking for their coupon, sifting through their wallet, or trying to find their checkbook...some of us are in a rush Rite Aid, so please do your best to fix the insanely slow check out. I've been to this rite aid dozens of times over many years. The store is so bright that it almost hurts your eyes. The tile floors always look dirty. I've never seen dysfunction like I've seen at the checkout area here though. At all times of day the registers get backed up with one person working them leading to long waits until they call for support. If there's ever a return be prepared to wait because it'll take half an hour since only one person is authorized to do it. Updating following riteaid customer service bot message to this review. The employees there are always nice and polite and friendly. My comments are probably better directed at the corporate structure which controls how this store functions. Not Happy. This was my 3rd time I've been in this Rite Aid since I moved here 4 years ago (i usually go to CVS), I bought Children's Advil and they only make it with the cup. I Asked at the Pharmacy if I could be given a syringe because my 5 year old doesn't like to use the cup. I was told that they do not have any (which I found odd because how do they fill the childrens' prescriptions without a syringe?). As I walked away, I found that they sold them. The pharmacist was Rude when I asked him and abruptly said no, they didn't have them neither did he offer to tell me that they sold them separately. This store`s management is awful. There was a "buy one, get one free" special displayed in the store today, and the sign for that special said nothing about a card. At the check-out, the cashier told me that a Rite Aid card is required in order to get that deal. When a manager came out, I asked to speak with him, and showed him the sign. [His ID badge had an Asian name printed on it which I don`t remember accurately -- maybe it was something like "Hychin".] I explained to him that without a notice such as "with Rite Aid card", the store was obligated to honor the special. He did not accept this as truth. I explained that it was against the law to display dishonest advertising. He answered with something like "so sue Rite Aid". I showed him the properly-labeled sale-price tags that _did_ say something like "with Rite Aid card", and his response was that _those_ tags came from "corporate", and the sale signs like the one that baited-and-switched me were printed _locally_, in the store`s office. I explained to him that in such cases, his office must either put an appropriate notice on the sale signs or give the special to _all_ customers, not only to those who have a Rite Aid card. He was not impressed. He told me that this is company policy -- he used the word "policy" more than once -- and explicitly said that I am the only one who doesn`t know about this, implying that I am some kind of idiot. In short: [1] stay away from this store at all costs unless you absolutely _must_ get something here that you can`t get at the supermarket next door. [2] if you _do_ shop here, be advised that you will _not_ be given the displayed-in-store special deal or price if and when you do not present a Rite Aid card. I`d be happy for somebody or some group to do a "secret shopper" kind of investigation here and expose this illegal business practice. I was just at the great neck rite aide to make a return which totaled $22.00. The cashier could not process my return because her register did not have $22.00. I asked to speak with the manager and he said that all registers were empty and he could only offer me a store credit, which I refused. I find it hard to believe that they did not have $22.00 at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night. The manager named "Edgar" was unapologetic and didn't have a problem showing he didn't care that I would have to return for a simple return. I highly (5 star) recommend Aaron, the pharmacist, and his techs, Alex and Robin. On multiple occassions they have gone out of their way to help me. I feel comfortable asking for help. They are professional, curteous and knowledgable. It's a wonderful experience dealing with them. I am on quite a few medications which could get confusing, but it's Ok with them. The pharmacy department is what is most important to me in a Drugstore...however, I do also find anything I want there (home/personal care products etc...) ..and the sales for change of season items are really good. Decent prices for their merchandise. The staff are always helpful. Their location is amazing b/c it is right next to a supermarket, part of a mini-mall which has many eateries, a gym, Karate place, bank, community library etc.... You could spend a day getting all your home/personal/work needs met and eat good food too!...it's very convenient. There is a very large parking lot...If it's a day when I can be flexible, I prefer going at off hour times so that every store is less crowded and the parking is easier. btw, across the street is a computer store, coffee shop, pizzaria, hair salon, fresh frut/vegetable market...
