Horrible customer service! Went in to get a picture printed. Hooked up my phone to one of the two kiosks. I have quite a bit of pictures on my phone which it apparently needs to upload all of in order to just pick one to print. This is a painfully slow process. After about an hour and only half of the pictures uploaded, we asked an employee who said the kiosk was broken. When asked why no one told us that he said he didn't know what we were doing at the kiosk. Are you kidding me? As a store employee isn't it your job to check on customers and assist them?! And it turns out this was some sort of manager! So after this we move over to the other kiosk and it's not working. He sends over some other employee. Turns out this is actually the kiosk that is broken. Seriously??? An hour of our time was then just wasted by this "manager" moving us to the wrong machine. And all the new employee could say was that the other guy didn't know what he was talking about it and it always takes this long. We just left at this point. It was ridiculous. If a kiosk isn't working right, put a sign up! If you see a customer sitting there for a while, ask if you can assist them! If your a manager, learn some customer service and know your store! read more

Wow - this place makes my local Rite-Aid look positively cosmopolitan. Half the aisles were denuded of inventory, the other half were full of stacked boxes, and the assortment of humanity there made it clear that the folks staying at the Village do *not* come down here for their pharmacy needs. read more

One of the few reasonably priced stores in Mammoth. They even have a pretty good selection of ski clothes at very cheap prices. Load up on chips and candy here for a small fraction of what they will charge you anywhere in Mammoth besides Vons'. read more

This Rite Aid is very conveniant and has friendly and helpful employees that have the desire to do so but the worst part of the store is the ice cream section! The employee serving us was painfully slow and took forever! They are out of almost every kind of ice cream many times that you go in and need to keep a better inventory. Rite Aid is usually pretty good and this store has a good selection of groceries. I would return, but not to buy ice cream. read more

If possible to give no stars I would! I had my prescription transferred here while on vacation. I was told over the phone it would be ready after 2pm. I went in the next day to pick it up and was told they hadn't filled it because they didn't have my insurance information, but had never received a call from them asking for the info. When I provided my info they told me I wasn't eligible for a refill. When I returned home to my usual CVS they told me I wasn't eligible for the refill because it had been transferred to the Rite Aid and filled there. DO NOT GO HERE!! I had my local doctor send my prescription to Rite Aid for a rash I picked up from kittens we adopted. I went to pick it up and was stunned when my prescription was over $100. I asked the Pharmacist if that price was correct and she said yes. Later when I got home I started reading the pamphlets that came with the prescriptions, the super expensive medication clearly stated that it was for Huntington's Disease and Tourettes Syndrome. Further reading stated that it shuts off serotonin and dopamine to the brain as well as some motor functions to be able to control the uncontrollable movements of that disease, which was very alarming. It said absolutely nothing about a rash so I did a quick google search and realized that this was likely the wrong medication given to me. I called the pharmacy right away, told the woman I had just been there 20 minutes prior, and that I thought I may have been given the wrong medication. I told her that the medication I just picked up was for Tourettes Syndrome and that I was there for a rash. I asked to speak to the pharmacist and she told me that the pharmacist would be unable to speak to me because she was busy. She, the pharmacy technician, then asked me what the medication was, I told her the name, she repeated the name back to me and told that, Yes, this is the correct medication and that I should take it. We got off the phone and I still had a bad feeling about it so I called the hospital where I had gotten the prescription for the medication. The next day I got a call back from the original doctor saying the medication was in fact wrong and that I should NOT take it! I went back to the pharmacy with the medication to make a complaint and return the drugs. When I got to the counter the tech did not acknowledge me, instead was talking about her frustrations with the man who she was helping just before me. I felt that was very rude and unprofessional. The same pharmacist and tech were there that I had seen the day before. I told them that I had recieved the wrong medication and had even been told it was correct and to take it when I called back later. I expressed my worries about what that could have done to me had I listed to the technicians advice and expressed how scary that is considering the technician isn't qualified to be giving out that advice in the first place. The pharmacy tech completely denied having had ever told me to take the medication during our phone call, which we both knew was not true. The pharmacist did nothing and walked away. The tech then proceeded to tell me how she couldn't sleep the night before because she was so worried about having had told me to take the wrong drug. She also told me that she was even more worried when the hospital called the next morning to call in the correct medication. I didn't need anyone to be worried, I needed someone to do the right thing and to call me and make sure I hadn't been taking the wrong medication that had the potential to make me very sick! After a long rant from the pharmacy tech I eventually got the right medication for the rash and left. The next person in line, who happened to be my boyfriend, a local nurse, walked up to the window where he then proceeded to hear all about me, my rash, and the whole range of emotions of the pharmacist and the tech who clearly are not at all respecting patient privacy. From start to finish this experience was a nightmare and I am so hurt and blown away by the unprofessionalism of this pharmacy!!!! read more

I go to Rite-Aid because it's one of the only two pharmacies in town, not because I actually want to. The actual pharmacists there are usually alright, but the rest of the staff is pretty rude. It also takes FOREVER to check out because it's always understaffed and it's a lost cause if you actually want to get ice cream. No one is ever there to serve the ice cream and I've actually stood there for over five minutes with my son, niece, and nephew to get them ice cream and no one even acknowledged us. When I told them that we needed to leave and go somewhere else my nephew started crying because he was so excited to get a birthday cake ice cream cone. read more

As a rite-aid, you should expect a descent amount of customers to make a beeline for the delicious scoops that the store is known for. Taking the hint of from the ice cream counter, I headed to the freezer section for some pints of glorious ice-cream. Well... the ice cream pints that were in the freezer were either on the floor, or already opened. This review is for the pharmacy counter at this Rite-Aid. They seem to have trouble holding on to staff here. I'll get my prescription filled flawlessly for a few months and then they get someone new and it all goes to hell. Alex had this place whipped into shape for the first six months of the year, but he has disappeared and now there is a revolving door of what appear to be traveling pharmacists. Today they were short staffed so there wasn't even anyone at the pharmacy during lunch (the only time I have to pick up my meds). This same cycle has repeated for years and I am done. BEWARE - I purchased a set of snow chains at this Rite-Aid. They fell apart about 5-10 miles later. When I went to try to go an exchange them, the local "assistant" manager was completely rude and very unprofessional. Not only did he tell me to take a hike, he literally told me "I don't care" and then accused me of lying about the installation of chains. He also said that I broke them because I drove over 25 mph, when the box / instructions clearly say maximum speed is 30 mph (he was quieter after I pointed that out to him). I'm the CEO of a company with about 30 employees, and if any of my employees ever treated a customer like I was treated, then they would be fired instantly. I am an automotive journalist, and I know how to properly install snow chains. The only reason why I even had to buy these is because I forgot the set I already have at home. A lot of stuff in Rite-Aid is manufactured in China, and a lot of the stuff that I have purchased there has been broken just out of the box. These snow chains were made in China (no surprise), and like the other items I've both at other Rite-Aids in the past, they were inferior quality and broke very quickly (and they cost $125!). I was already quite irritated that the chains broke and I had to remove them on the side of the road, but having the assistant "manager" basically insult my intelligence was icing on the cake. So, beware - it would appear that if you buy anything remotely seasonal and cheaply made at this store, then you own it, and all the risk is on you once you leave the store. I did not wish to return the chains, I simply wished to exchange them for another set that I might have better luck with. It is important to note that at another Rite-Aid, when the cheaply-made Chinese stuff I bought broke, I was able to return / exchange it without issues, despite it being a holiday item. Conclusion - It is my opinion that there are plenty of stores to support in Mammoth that are not huge, poorly run conglomerates like this one. I would recommend spending your hard-earned dollars elsewhere, at locally-owned stores. read more

I stopped by after dinner to get some drinks for later and was surprise to find the prices were the same as the rite aid in LA. Being that its mammoth I assumed it would be higher, but most ofthe prices are the same. Of course not a great huge selection, but it has all the stuff you need and for some reason a very large selection of vitamins. The beer and hard liquor selection is good and more than enough to get ........chocolate wasted.....haha read more

I love this place. It is always pleasant to walk in and get what i need . 90% of the employees are very well manered and have excellent customer service . and I really love how they let me bring my dog into the store, there is only one employee that always has a bit of an attitude , she never smiles when greeting . and when I was waiting in line for an unexpectedly amount of time . I finally was gonna be able to get assisted and be charged. When (Alicia) left her station in a rudely manner. just when I was about to walk up, without saying a word like - I apologize I will be back in a few seconds. Etc. My mother needed a prescription while camping, so we drove an hour to the closest pharmacy, and unfortunately, this was the first one to pop up on google. The pharmacist kept us on hold and ended up forgetting about us on the phone. Then, when we got there in-person, after attempting to triple check on the phone that the prescription was good to go, she was short with us and and made us feel like an annoyance, especially my mother who was experiencing pain and discomfort. When we walked up to the window and my mom told her her doctor had called, she said she hadn't heard from them and seemed like she wanted us to just go because it would be easier for her. We urged her to double check, and sure enough it had been called in. Yes, it's understandable that she was the only pharmacist on-duty and there was a line of 5 people behind us, but it just would've been nice if she expressed some empathy and didn't shake her head and tell us to "go sit down" when we asked if the Rx was ready. Maybe she wouldn't think the way she handled us was wrong, however we definitely witnessed some pretty bad customer service. Maybe the solution is hiring more pharmacists or having more than one on-duty, or maybe the solution is training your pharmacists to have a little empathy, and make your customers feel like they're at least the tiniest bit important. read more

While this particular rite aid has a very nice vestibule with very nice lawn furniture on display inside it, the manager's curt sarcasm left something to be desired. My friend and I bought a bunch of snacks, including some ice cream, and we started eating the ice cream in the vestibule. The manager came by and said, "you better not get ice cream on my carpet. Normally people don't eat ice cream in the vestibule." We left, but in retrospect I wish we had stayed. If the guy had really wanted us to leave, he could have just said that. I had a pleasant experience here, this rite aid has basic local needs if you are at a hotel or motel or a condo here in mammoth lakes! The thrifty ice cream is good as we'll also the store is pretty clean when I come here in mammoth I will visit when I have time :) read more

Just very, very expensive. I have often gone in there and left in shock at how much more expensive products are at this location vs. other stores. Rite Aid in Mammoth definitely price gouges. Be very aware of this when shopping there. read more
