Well this WAS my go to spot, however; today I was not very happy with the service. I purchased a Rite Aid brand contact solution that ended up burning my eye after putting one of my contacts on after it was in the solution overnight. Of course, as soon as it began to burn right after I put my contact on, I struggled to remove the contact from my eye. I struggled because my eye couldn't even open as the burn was so intense. I was finally able to remove my contact, but the burn and redness lasted throughout the day. This has never happened to me, I've been wearing contacts for 15 years. The same day, (today) I go in to EXCHANGE for another solution. (Not return for money back but just exchange for one I've used in the past). BUT manager Sylvia not only didn't care when I showed her the redness in my eye but only offered partial credit since I didn't have the box or receipt. (I trashed both as I did not think I would have a problem with the solution). The solution bottle clearly indicates it's from Rite Aid as it is the Rite Aid brand. I'm sorry but I'm a manager too and if someone came to me with an issue that my brand caused, especially this intense, I would at least honor an even exchange. This was really sad. I just hope my eye gets better because as of right now, it's really sore and red still and I have somewhere important to be tomorrow. She clearly did not think about longevity with myself as a customer. Rite Aid has now lost me, my three sisters, mom & dad who all live in Monterey Park. We will choose a competitor now. Rite Aid, as an honorable manager from another company, I suggest you choose your managers more wisely. Sylvia had no common sense and she was also rude to the cashier who rang me up. No respect. Probably the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I thought since it was 24 hour pharmacy it would be good, no it isn't. If you never have medications in stock what is the point in being open 24 hours? The pharmacy always has a line and the employees work at a snails pace, I mean it's not like people need their medications or anything. Calling in to check If your prescription is ready is useless, I called for info on a prescription for my grandmother and they said it was ready then when I got there to pick it up they informed me that it was not ready and they would have to order it. This is the second time I attempt to get my prescriptions here. There is one asian employee who gave me excuses left and right. Mind you, it was 8 am Sunday and I needed urgent medicine for my two year old. She was with another pharmacisy and still told me they were busy and I'd have to come back in three hours. I looked around and I was the only customer there. So, for her to tell me they were busy was bs. I asked her for my prescription back and left elsewhere. Ok it's 4/1 early am. All night pharmacy. Just spent hours in urgent care with my daughter who cannot stop coughing. Arrived here and pharmacy was dark. The pharmacist was on a lunch break from 2:30am-3:00 am. There were no other customers and maybe it's just me but we stood there and watched her eat for 30 minutes while my daughter coughed her lungs out. ALL the employees here are SOO RUDE! Every single time that I have gone in, it never fails to have terrible customer service. I only go to Rite Aid for the ice cream. Every time I have to wait at least five minutes after asking for assistance until an employee finally walks over. Employees will see people in line for ice cream and not bother to go help or call someone for help. Once someone finally does come, never greeted, always moody with attitudes. This has got to be the rudest rite aid I've been too. They were really nice for their grand re-opening but now they have become complacent and irritable once a customer walks in. When I ask employees where certain items are in the store they answer as if they are bothered. Don't even ask them to show you where an item is because you couldn't find it in the aisle they originally told you. They huff and puff their entire way to the aisle/item. In addition, the last 6 times I've wanted ice cream it is ALWAYS closed. Why the heck do you have an ice cream area of its closed and/or it's never occupied by an employee. If you wait by the ice cream area, they get mad and yell at you to get in the other cashier lines first before they help you. So you go wait in the cashier line to buy ice cream first, then have to go wait by the ice cream area and wait for them to come scoop for you. UGH!!! This rite aid is disgusting. The floors were sticky throughout most the store, especially the ice cream area. The counter was sticky and the guy serving ice cream was not wearing gloves. The couple of makeup aisles were so unorganized and items were not where they belonged. Very annoying. The girl at the front was rude too. No eye contact. She looked very annoyed to help us. I needed a prescription filled for my toddler at 1am. I stopped at CVS across the street and they could not fill it because their computer system updates from 1-2am. GREAT! Do u wanna see frustration at it's best... look for a mother who needs a medication filled and is told to go away. I went back to my car in tears. Yet. I remembered rite aid is also a 24 hour pharmacy. I couldn't drive across the street fast enough. I turned my prescription and had my cough elixir within 10 minutes. THANK YOU RITE AID. I have been frequenting this Rite Aid for years and years and years. Recently I went to Rite Aid and my experience was what has prompted me to write this review. I always have had great experiences with shopping at this Rite Aid but I had to write this after my last experience there. Before I get to my last visit let me just talk about how my experiences were before that. Every time I go into this Rite Aid I always have an easy time finding what I need. Aisles are clean and clear and shelves are always stocked. Prices are reasonable too. The customer service has always been good at this Rite Aid. Well my latest visit was excellent because a friend of mine is serving in Afghanistan currently and when he shipped off to Afghanistan he did not pack all the personal items he needed because you really don't know what you need until you are over there. Well he asked me to go to his storage locker to pick up some of his things and ship to him. Needed a couple of boxes to ship stuff, odd sized boxes. So I go to Rite Aid and asks the employee if I could have a box or two. I saw an odd shaped box that happened to have a curved handled cane in it. I asked if I could have that box and the man said yes. I noticed it did not looked opened so I pushed it and it felt heavy and I noted it was not empty. I was implying that I could not have it since it was not emptied and did not expect of him to empty it just for me. He said no problem he'll take the thing out of it. He opened it just for me so I could have the box. He didn't have to do that but he cared enough to do so. I don't know if he is the manager, assistant manager or a clerk but he was very nice and went out of his way for me. I was able to ship the personal items to my friend in Afghanistan. I normally frequent this Rite Aid and felt it was a good store but the helpful employee who went out of his way to give me the box by emptying it really did it and I had to write this rave review for them. Some might say, he would have emptied it anyway and all that but he could have slacked off not done that. He could have given me any box that was opened already and blew me off and emptied the cane box later if he didn't feel like helping me, but no, he did help me. I appreciate what this man did for me and for my friend in Afghanistan. Five stars of Rite Aid, Monterey Park and two thumbs up for that man who helped me and my friend in Afghanistan. read more

If you are thinking of getting your passport photos done at this Rite Aid location, STOP now and go back to your car or walk across the street! Had my passport photos done here and none of them can be used because they did not meet any of the requirement (photo composition, non-white background, etc). Every 30 days, it is the same old story, the automated system calls me up at home to tell me that my prescriptions are ready. When I go to pick them up, the Pharmacist informed me that they are not ready and that they will have to special order them. When I asked the Pharmacist what went wrong, she simply said: "the computer forgot to place my order" How does a computer forget to place an order and yet calls you up, at home, to tell you the prescriptions are ready? I have to make two trips, to pick up my prescriptions, because there is always something wrong with the transaction. The Pharmacist has used so many excuses that she has run out. Her last excuse was, that it was my fault, because I did not call her up to remind her to do her job. She did this while yelling at me and making a scene. This is what happens when you have little or no management to speak of. If you do not have to worry about being fired, you can say or do anything, you want, to cover up your poor work performance, example, blaming the customers. I will no longer be doing business with Rite Aid Drugstores since their employees are rude and conduct themselves in an unprofessional manner. read more

Wow, I had accidentally lost my receipt for 14.00 eye drops. I went to return the item, because I needed contact lens friendly drops. I was asked if i wanted it in cash and said yes. The lady then gave me a gift card. I said She had told me cash. She said ' thats cash' . I said its a Gift card, Id rather find the receipt somewhere at home and get the cash back. I asked for the product back and she rudely refused! And I had an Ice cream to buy, so i angrily just paid with the gift card and gave me about 5 bucks back. I said hey those drops were about 14 bucks! She flatly added that they only return half of the items price amount!! SHADY SHADY SHADY PRACTICES!! RITE AID ILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN AFTER THIS! Went to pick up my prescription. When I presented my coupon prior to paying, the pharmacist Janet told me it would take her another 1 hour to run, which is a lie. It takes less than 5 min (I know because I was here yesterday). When I asked for a manager, there was none to be found. I called to straighten this out and instead was directed right to the generic phone menu. Being busy is NOT an excuse. Everyone is busy, including customers. Very disappointed every time I go into this place their ice cream department is closed. It has been so hot over the summer and thrifty's is my personal fave so I always stop by rite aid to grab a scoop and this rite aid time and time again it has been closed and when they do have it open this one guy (dark short hair) has the worst attitude. Every time and I go in and it's closed myself along with other large groups of families walk out disappointed. Very very displeased, like why do you even have an ice cream department in the first place. And to top it off they don't even restock the tubs of thrifty's ice cream. I always come to shop in this Rite Aide for many years even my doctors prescriptions. . I even like to buy my ice cream. I came today as usual and asked the cashier that I'm waiting for the ice cream. and two other people was with their family waiting for the ice cream too. I approached to the cashier to tell her I'm waiting for the ice cream. So she knows we are waiting.. and she told me that it was closed, that there was no other person to do it. other times others workers said to wait, until other employe come or just help you someone soon as they're can. Is understandable they're a little busy. . We asked for the Maneger and it was the same one that told me that it was already closed. Her name is Amanda, she was not so kind. After so many years coming to this store first time they did not want to sell me my ice cream. and I have arrived other times 10:00 or 11:00 at night and I have never had problems. All ice cream containers were open. Which mean she lies. The containers of ice cream is supposed to be closed for healthiness. If you not going to sell ice cream for the date. Oh and I did not even buy things that I had to buy in the store today. This happing Saturday March 23 at night around 10pm. If you have cameras. You will see after maybe 5 minutes. Gross. We walk in to get ice cream and first of all there's a huge line. The line isn't the problem, but the fact that the employee serving the ice cream isn't calling for help is the real problem. 15 minutes later, it's our turn. The employee, whose name was John, didn't even greet us. He literally stood there and waited for me to give him my order. Then I notice he is serving our ice cream without any gloves on! Gross! This guy doesn't even look like he showers. He was filthy, not well put together, and his neck was black as hell like when people don't shower. He hands me my cone with his fingers all over it. I tell him I want a new cone and ask why he is not wearing gloves. He just offers to throw away my ice cream and start again, this time wearing gloves. By now I'm already disgusted so not sure if I even want it anymore. He puts the gloves and hands me my new ice cream. I ask him his name (John) and ask again why he does not wear his gloves as he did not answer me the first time around. He just says "Sorry about that." Ugh. Ericka is the best!!! Very informative, went out of her way to find out my insurance info and also wrote down the information that I might need in the future when requesting more medication. That was 5 weeks ago. Today I went and Sally helped me out. She was amazing as well. I would recommend this pharmacy to anyone that likes good service and likes their options given to them correctly. Before I started going here I went to Walgreens a block away and they were ok but did not have my medication in stock they told me to go to rite aid and I did go but they treated me like I was stealing their medication and did not even order it though them because their customer service was so horrible I did not want to deal with them ever!! I am an extremely busy guy, and this is my first time in my life, writing a comment on a business. Simply because, last night I had an tragedy in this rite aid pharmacy, and as a human I felt I should notify, others who are desperate to fill an prescription in here, That you are daydreaming, thinking you are going to the right pharmacy. In simple way of saying, if you are on your way to fill your prescriptions in this store, because this is an 24 hours pharmacy, don't and don't and don't and don't even think about it, as you are putting yourself in risk, if your medicine is an urgency. This is how it goes; at about 10:20p.m on an Saturday night, walked to this pharmacy. Very first thing I noticed, was few complaining customers on the other side of the counter, waiting for more than 2 hours, to get their medicine. After waiting for about 15 minutes in line, finally the very unkind, and full of shity .... pharmacist, took my prescription, and told me I had to wait an hour, just for him to see if my insurance covering it or not. I agreed, and came back 11:40 . This time I was told that is not ready yet, and need half an hour more. So I left and come back at 12:40, thinking I can get my medicine and go. But guess what? Now he is telling me, the medicine is ready, but the computer is down. So he is asking me to wait few hours more, for the system to be back, then he can charge my insurance, or choice 2 is to pay cash for it. And when I told him , why do I need to pay for it, if your computer is down, he told me very rudely, then I can take it to other pharmacy at almost 1 a.m , him knowing I needed the medicine desperately! Then I ask to talk to manger. There comes this fat girl, saying yes she is the manger of the store, but she is not familiar with the pharmacy stuff, and told me the pharmacy manger is gone home. She also mentioned she has been getting a lots of complaint from different customers, re her store pharmacy! When I asked, why don't you release my medicine, and let me leave, and charge my insurance, when the system is back , both maneger and pharmacist, rejected, and when I ask what about If someone with no cash walk in the store, to pick up their medicine with their insurance, and it's an urgency, and your system is not up, what would happen? Both manger and the pharmacist look at each other, and didn't give me any reply!!! Make the story short; Don't bring your prescription to this store, specially if your medicine, it's an urgency, and there is no pharmacy around, as you may lose your life over some none sence shity pharmacist, who doesn't know what he is doing! I love Thriftys ice cream I preffer it more than yogurtland so once in a while my teenagers and I come here but I feel like every time I come the guys working the ice cream counter are irritated. Not customer service friendly. We came on friday 5/15/15 in the evening. As we waited at the ice cream counter a young guy with a big beard came to assist us. He didn't ask "May I help you" or "What can I serve you today" he asked "Ready!?" as if I was bothering him. He didn't smile, he looked bothered. I told him "Im waiting on you, but wow! Ok?? let me have......I ordered, then my son and my daughter asked if she can have a sample and he was huffing and puffin. We got our ice cream, paid and left. He left us uneasy that I had to mention it to my sister (who lives close by) and she was saying she experiences the same attitude. When they help you in the regular line no problem but when it comes to ice cream mucho problem. I didnt complain but Im getting tired of the emptiness and attitude. I went to the pharmacy and I had a question about my insurance. I was helped by THE MOST BITTER PERSON I EVER HAVE COME ACROSS IN MY LIFE!! Her name is YVETTE!!! I was told to wait 5 min so she could check eligibility. I was fine with that. I asked her kindly how long will it take to get my meds and she RUDELY said 40min!! I ask if there was any way she could have it sooner and she AGAIN! IN A RUDE MANNER SAID NO I HAVE TO WAIT!! I told her that's fine can she just check eligibility.. AGAIN! she responded "GO SIT DOWN ILL CALL YOU BY NAME!" I thought to myself gezz she must be having a ruff day :/ I sat for what seemed like 3min when I saw YVETTE open the door from behind the counter and walk right in front of me with her Cell phone in hand.... Upset, I walked to the pharmacist and asked "excuse me! When will that girl be back!?" Janet answered she's on brake (now am shit angry!) I mentioned to Janet "no she was check eligibility and she's was to let me know if my insurance is active!?" She said I'll check for you.. (1min passes)... Janet states "yes it active for you and your daughter" I mentioned "I don't know what the hell that employees problem is or if she's having a bad f'en day but if she doesn't like her job or if she's gonna treat people like that she should NOT SHOW UP TO WORK! People come here sick and then have to deal with THAT!" Janet kindly apologized and stated "she treats everybody like that" ... "Well guess what not me! I need information where I could contact a manager and Corp office because she needs to be reported. What am I oblivious!? She was in the middle of helping me and I stated I had my kids waiting in the car!" Janet stated "she pulled your meds it's ready." Well that just pissed me off. She goes on brake and left my meds there AND ran my ins but just left me sitting there. Mind you Janet the pharmacist took care of it all in a matter of 3min. Un f'n believable!!!!!
