Back when it was "Thrifty's", I'm still a fan of their ice cream today. Solid flavors and selection, my favorite is chocolate chip, mint chip and lot of other ones. For the price I'd recommend getting the freezer containers because a single scoop is pretty pricey. Definitely worth the money but get more when you buy bigger. I'd definitely come back again for other items they have in store. read more

I've been coming to this Rite aide my whole life as to I'm a local. Today has been the second time I encounter a Pharmacist by the name Lupe (Guadalupe) who by far has the worst customer service we've encountered. She'll ask questions without explaining why she's asking these specific questions, last time my husband asked Lupe a question at which she laughed and answered him with a question and gave him are you dumb look. Diane the head pharmacist today went out of her way to help fill my husbands prescription. Aside from this review I will also be calling Rite Aide corporate office. read more

Five stars to Thomas in pharmacy for the way he administers the Covid19 injection...and for his friendly reassuring efficient manner and professionalism. He cleans the injection site methodically and thoroughly, which impressed me. Even the nurses at megapod sites, just gave my mom a single hasty wipe of her shoulder...Thomas wielded the alcohol prep pad like a surgeon and clearly cared about the little details, especially for needle-fearing clients like me. I didn't even feel it. Thomas also gave good advice for mitigating post-injection blahs. Thanks Thomas for making my FauciOuchie a good experience. And thanks to the pharmacist on the job at 4:30 pm Sat who tested my temperature, and who released me after the 15-min wait post injection. She made sure I was OK before releasing me. Do not get your vaccine shots here. They will switch your card information or give you whatever vaccine despite specifically requesting a type. I went in to get the Moderna shot, my card reflected my first shot as moderna. I come back to get the second shot and my card magically reads Pfizer. I had handed my card in to be called for my second shot, that's when they redid my card with the new information. I noticed the mistake but because I didn't have my original card anymore I couldn't debate it with proof. The second nurse admits to changing my card WITHOUT TELLING ME. She even used two different colored inks to make it look like that was the original card marking two different shot dates. The audacity of trying to cover up that mistake without telling me should be illegal. She gives me some BS claim that my records show Pfizer even tho I specified Moderna. So she admits that the first nurse didn't pay attention and gave me whatever shot she grabbed and not what I requested. My text reminders stated Moderna!! If that's not a complete lack of attention and incompetence I don't know what is. The pharmacy manager Kim was no help as she simply continued to cover up the nurses' incompetence. read more

On 2 occasions, when picking up prescription orders for family members, I was handed only the vial and the leaflet. I had to ask for a bag twice with two different employees. I feel that it must be corporate instructions to not hand out bags. While it may be a cost saving measure, it is at a cost to the patient. It lacks privacy and I am particularly afraid of theft. I have worked a retail pharmacy (competitor) before and patients have mentioned this concern when they are walking on the streets, so even with a bagged prescription, they are still worried! Even if your medication is to help with your blood pressure, any idiot on the street must think it is a narcotic and a great opportunity to make a buck. Whoever thought of this cost saving tactic ought to be fired because I wouldn't spend a dime at a pharmacy that is that stingy and places their interests ahead of patients. We also expect privacy and that is compromised when you're walking outside with a medication vial. Hopefully you have pockets, a purse, or asked for a bag?! Currently, prescription bags are exempt from the California bag policy. Good thing they didn't try to ask me to pay for it, too! read more

This store always seems like they are behind in everything. The aisles feel cramped but with emptiness because there isn't a great variety. The only thing they have a variety of is Thrifty's ice cream. The lines are always long whether it is before I come into work around 5 to 6pm or on my break at 330 am in the morning. In addition trying to find someone to help you with merchandise in the later afternoon hours is difficult. So did I mention ice cream? Oh yes, I did...so yes come here for ice cream, that's it. i recently purchased a lottery ticket at this location and when i tired to redeem it they said i needed to be of age and i showed them my ID and drivers license i am of age i am 18 years old and they declined me my reward they said i needed to be 21 or older and she said "you shouldn't have even purchased this lottery ticket because you are underage", and on the lottery machine and CALottery website it says "must be 18 or older to play and redeem" and they were being persistent in giving us our money and said they couldn't even give me my money back when i asked for it this went on for about 5 minutes and they said it was the managers fault when it was theirs, and at the end i got my money and they just said "here you can take it now it's all cleared up" with a serious face and didn't even apologize read more

The girl security is so rude, on her phone having a full on conversation, pauses to yell "THE STORE CLOSES IN TWO MINUTES" as we walked through the doors at 11:48 pm. Rite aid charges 19 cents... that's right, 19 cents! for passport photos. Just bring your own digital camera, take a photo of yourself, and print them out at the kiosk. Save yourself 8 bucks! The "passport photo service" is the exact same thing! The only difference is that they take your picture on their video camera. read more

I made a purchase and one of the items scanned at a price higher than the advertised price. I pointed this out to the cashier and said that I should get that item for free because their policy CLEARLY states that if an item scans higher than the advertised price then the customer gets that item for free (unless it's booze, cigarettes or milk) She proceeded to give me a B.S. excuse that this was not valid because it was almost midnight and the price was going to change. It was 11:53 and not midnight yet. It's like you're either pregnant or not, not "almost pregnant". Seriously, wtf kind of bs excuse is that? My boyfriend, his sister, and I came here earlier this week when we were in the area because it was extremely hot outside and we were craving some ice cream. Their Thrifty ice cream is tasty and reasonably priced, so we knew we wanted to get ice cream from here and not from somewhere else expensive. We waited by the ice cream counter for about ten minutes, observing the flavors and waiting for an employee to notice us. Apparently, they only had one employee working the registers and no other employees were to be found. The employees there are very nice. I went to them once because I got tired from paying copay every single time I go to CVS's, even though I have the highest insurance type from ATENA. When I found that they didn't even ask me for one penny, I made it my pharmacy. However, I always spend much of time, around 20 minutes usually, to get my medications, so it is better to leave your prescription to them and come back later to pick it up. read more

It is the walking dead up in here. I been to this Rite Aid for at least three or four years, and every time I go it normally just for the ice-cream. However, it is the quietest pharmacy I ever been in and with employees that walk very quietly (but the carts squeel like cray cray). Maybe because don't have the typical black Asian hair, but I do get followed if I walk around too quickly. It doesn't have much in stock (medicine and makeup unless you are dark-skinned), but 2 stars for the ice-cream. Also, I had the problem where things are scanned higher than advertised and it takes fifteen minutes for them to fix it. (Really? I LOVE RITE AID. However, not this one. I don't know if it's just me but the prices here seems to be $1 or so higher than my own local Rite Aid. I wanted to buy a shaver pack and it was locked. I asked an employee to open it for me and they told me someone will come to help me. I waited 5 minutes and no one showed. I asked another employee and she ended up getting the first employee would I originally asked to get someone to help me. Turned out she had the key. *sigh* Anyways, I end up going to the checkout stand and I see this lady with a multiple amount of toilet paper. Looks like they had a special price for it this week. When she was done paying for it I heard the employees laughing. They were talking about how "Why does she keeping coming in?" "There is a limit of how much you can buy." They are laughing and joking about it. Apparently, she came in several times every 20 minutes to buy her "limit 6 per customer" toilet paper roll. I chimed in saying "Maybe she's going to 'tee-pee' (spelling?) houses tonight." I say smiling. The checkout girl and her co-worker gave me the 'Why the heck are you talking to me' kinda look. I mainly visit the pharmacy when I come here. They hardly ever have a line at the pharmacy counter, which is the main reason I go here instead of CVS across the street (there's ALWAYS a long there). If I happen to need some other items, like cosmetics or hair care items, I'll pick them up first and then pay at the pharmacy when I pick up my prescription. I do this because there always seems to be a long line at the front and only 1 or 2 cashiers. The ice cream counter also seems to be popular. The UP rewards program isn't bad either. Got my Prevanar 13 vaccine today for Pneumonia. Rite Aid had it in stock and ready to go, unlike CVS Pharmacy across the street where it was out of stock. Pharmacist Kim Do administered the injection, and did it perfectly. Absolutely pain free. My doctor who prescribed the vaccine says it can cost two hundred dollars, but it was Free under my insurance! So I'm very pleased. I shop at a lot of places and my experiences here have been one of the worst. The ladies at the pharmacy have attitudes. They seem like they don't want to help. I went over to CVS instead and the pharmacist was quick. He looked up my insurance info for me and didn't give me a hard time like Rite Aid pharmacy. I'm giving two stars because I enjoy their ice cream but the person serving at the ice cream counter one time I went in the past seemed like she was in a bad mood also. I don't want to feel like I'm bothering someone when it's their job to be working and they are getting paid. I like the deals they have sometimes on buying two cartons of ice cream at a discounted price from the freezer section. The selection they offer in the beauty area is just okay. I don't ever end up purchasing any cosmetics here because they don't have what I'm looking for and they usually don't have good deals. They do have a good variety of false lashes. I transferred over my prescription a week ago, because my other pharmacy was too far and out of the way, rite aid pharmacist said it would take a few days to fill because they needed to verify, which I totally understood. Two weeks later I come back and they said my prescriptions are still not ready because they needed more info! Yet they never bothered to call me to ask for the extra information! So then I fill another prescription I had and they said it be ready in two hours, I come back two DAYS later to pick it up and then I'm told they forgot to input the prescription and that it'll be another two hours. I've never had so much trouble filling a prescription before! And to top it off the girl behind the pharmacy counter gave me attitude as though this was my fault! LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! Love the store. It's walking distance to my house..been coming here since I was a kid. So as a young adult starting to regularly use a pharmacy of course I chose this rite aid. As the only pharmacy I had been to I didn't know what to expect and just took their crappy service as the norm. Not until I moved and switched to another rite aid pharmacy that I realize how bad this place was. I feel like I've been cheated. They always seem way too busy to help you. 4 out of 5 times the pharmacist is in a bad mood. I had to go through this big ordeal to get my medication just because they weren't efficient with contacting my doctor. I'm SO much happier at a different rite aid. It always surprises me how EASY it really should be to get my prescriptions. You would think they have the same system but apparently not. read more

The last three times I've come here, they have not had any of my favorite Thrifty ice-cream flavors in stock. Not even one tub of Pistachio nut or Rocky road in sight! I've asked them a few times what's going on and they keep saying they ran out. So not good for business. This place has horrible customer service. It took me almost an hour to select and edit my photos on their self service photo printing kiosk, then when I pushed print, 10 of my 80 pictures printed before it ran out of ink. No store manager was present to change the ink ribbon. The man at the counter said he couldn't do anything about it because only the store manager has the key to access the ink and that there was no store manager to be present that day. He told me I was out of luck. Wth? Aside from that, he wasn't apologetic AT ALL. I'm never going to this Rite Aid again. I took what printed out, and walked out without paying for it. And the told the man at the counter that he's horrible for his horrible customer service and that Rite Aid needs better management. read more

Then it's my turn as I approach he tells me to wait as he is still talking with the same idiot on the other side. Now the phone rings and I'm still waiting, picks up the phone and keeps me waiting. Should of placed that call on hold and helped me first.....then goes back to talk with the same idiot. Wasted 30 minutes of my valuable time. Didn't even end up having the prescription I needed. I love this place but I am rating a three star because every time I go I'm usually in line for 8-10 min and their ice cream thrifty is always closed oh yeah they never had a restock of specific drinks until the night (coffee , aloe , Coca Cola , squeezing water bottles, gatorade ) they need more associates working the registers and restock every 2-3 times a day but other then that the ladies are wonderful read more

Well this WAS my go to spot, however; today I was not very happy with the service. I purchased a Rite Aid brand contact solution that ended up burning my eye after putting one of my contacts on after it was in the solution overnight. Of course, as soon as it began to burn right after I put my contact on, I struggled to remove the contact from my eye. I struggled because my eye couldn't even open as the burn was so intense. I was finally able to remove my contact, but the burn and redness lasted throughout the day. This has never happened to me, I've been wearing contacts for 15 years. The same day, (today) I go in to EXCHANGE for another solution. (Not return for money back but just exchange for one I've used in the past). BUT manager Sylvia not only didn't care when I showed her the redness in my eye but only offered partial credit since I didn't have the box or receipt. (I trashed both as I did not think I would have a problem with the solution). The solution bottle clearly indicates it's from Rite Aid as it is the Rite Aid brand. I'm sorry but I'm a manager too and if someone came to me with an issue that my brand caused, especially this intense, I would at least honor an even exchange. This was really sad. I just hope my eye gets better because as of right now, it's really sore and red still and I have somewhere important to be tomorrow. She clearly did not think about longevity with myself as a customer. Rite Aid has now lost me, my three sisters, mom & dad who all live in Monterey Park. We will choose a competitor now. Rite Aid, as an honorable manager from another company, I suggest you choose your managers more wisely. Sylvia had no common sense and she was also rude to the cashier who rang me up. No respect.
