If I could give ZERO STARS I would!!! The Pharmacy here is TERRIBLE! We just bought a house in Olympia and I had a anti nausea med sent here. After having it sent, i waited 30 minutes and then went to pick it up. I waited in line (they have a drive through but have it CLOSED) for 20-30 min just for them to tell me they don't have it. I went back the next day in the afternoon about 1pm to try again... I had a sleeping baby in the car so I tried the drive through-- AGAIN CLOSED! My husband went back tonight at 6:30 pm and waited in line because again, the drive through is closed, for them to tell him they wouldn't get through the line before closing so he needed to leave. I called THREE times to get my prescription transferred somewhere else just for them not to answer the phone every single time. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

As for a convenients store it's not bad. The pharmacy is a disaster. Over the last 3 months I have had refills go unfilled. I have attempted to transfer my prescriptions to a different pharmacy and no one at the rite aid pharmacy will answer the phones to complete the transfer. Everytime I have been there in the last 6 months the line takes about an hour to get through it. Now the staff are not even trying to do their jobs. I have never seen a business run like this Update. Their pharmacy sucks. I put in a refill on a generic eye drop 2 days ago. Today when I went to pick it up, I find they do not have my eye drop. They are back ordered and their supplier does not have them either. Two days passed and not a peep that my order could not be filled!!!!!!!!!!!! Easily the worst pharmacy you can choose. Must be a horrible place to work because with few (but notable) exceptions, employees are invariably pissed off and short with customers. Earlier this week the pharmacy had a literal 40 minute wait in the drive-through with only three cars ahead of me. Tonight I called their local number to ensure they were open until 10 PM, before showing up at the drive-through at 9:25 PM. After two employees working the drive-through glanced at me and moved on without greeting me, I saw the new hours posted in the drive-through had changed two days previous. hours had changed. The pharmacy was no longer open until 10 PM, but 9 PM. At least they are consistent. This is exactly what I would expect from them. read more

Medication is rarely ready on time and is often backordered. In my experience (for my specific medications) Rite Aid has the best prices out of the major chains. Despite this I understand all the negative reviews here on Yelp, the wait time is very long and the staff is very over worked, I can only hope that Rite Aid as a corporation gives this location a bigger budget to support it's staff better and help add new people. On the positive side I have never had any negative interaction with the staff here. They've always been kind to me and accommodated any questions I might have. Jake, who works in the pharmacy is amazing and not only addressed concerns I had about my medication but also pointed out that there was a generic brand that was always stocked (so I wouldn't have to wait for the name-brand version). This was a huge revelation because my medication is for a chronic condition and having a reliable supply helps me with the mild anxiety that comes when my supply begins to dwindle. Jake was also kind enough to accommodate me when I was indecisive and decided to switch to the generic he had suggested. Thank you Jake, you helped me very quickly and I appreciate your efforts. Lastly I did get a covid booster here, this was the only location I could find nearby that was giving Moderna boosters. The room they take you in is disheveled but didn't feel gross or anything and the staff who administered my shot was kind and did a good job. You can tell that pharmacies were not meant to deal with the volume of vaccines and customers along with tests that have been shouldered onto them. The wait is brutal but I've found that even Walgreens down the street suffers from rushes, especially because their pharmacy hours are much more restrictive. I would recommend this location due to the staff, just know that there will be waits. Also as a tip, enroll into the rite aid app, he helps with being able to track your prescriptions and they will flag/text you when they are ready for pickup. read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever!!!!!! I used the refill line on a Friday and requested a Wednesday pick up after 9:00 am. It was not ready. If this was a one time problem I would not complain. Unfortunately this is common place with this branch. They have drive through hours posted outside, but the drive through is not open. I visited RiteAid in Cooper Point, Olympia three ago to have a passport photo taken. I would not recommend anyone to go there for this type of service, the person was incompetent and unprofessional. He immediately printed it out and placed in an inadequate size envelope that he forced the photo into the envelope. It was even more devastated when I got home and carefully remove the photo from the envelope, the image was in such poor quality, wash off, and could barely recognize my face. I paid $18 for two garbage photo. read more

Communication from the pharmacy staff is poor. They demonstrate little forethought for customers who have reoccurring issues with monthly prescriptions, trying instead to just finish each interaction as quickly as possible. I understand that there are complicated processes from government regulations, insurance company rules, and Rite Aid policies that can cause delays and inconveniences. That said, not taking the time to thoroughly explain why a customer is having difficulties filling their prescriptions month after month so a solution can be found just means you and they will waste more time and be frustrated again in the future. I expect this lack of insight from fast food outlets, not from professionals with advanced degrees. Very disappointing. read more

The pharmacy is not helpful. You have to ask the questions to receive the answers the pharmacy already knows. For example, I went to the dermatologist for a condition. The medication was denied. They told me it was likely because it was used for cosmetic reasons - it is not. I had to ask them like 10 questions to finally get to yes we can request that your doctor calls the insurance company and said it's medically needed. Why was this not offered. Why did I have to work so hard? Please this is not the first time an insurance company has done this- the pharmacy does not have to make me go through this hassle. It's getting two stars because I like the robo phone that calls you when the RX is ready. And it's near my home. That's it! read more

No surprise...call in a refill, have them tell you when it's going to be ready, wait in line for 40 or so minutes to have them tell you your order isn't ready, ask if you can come back in an hour, come back 2 hours later, wait in line 40 or so minutes, have them tell you your order still isn't ready, have to wait in the waiting area for a half hour for your meds. this has happened to me the last three trips to this pharmacy! only good thing is the pad Thai restaurant in the same parking lot has pretty good food so I would recommend trying it out while you wait. Poor Rite Aid, Cooper Pt., Olympia! Stinky, dangerous, sticky floors this morning, & their on line systems were down. I went in for a vaccination appointment, which they managed to take care of. As I am trying to check out, two workers ran up to me, one of them aggressively barking that "I made an announcement 15 minutes ago that the store is closed, all customers should leave!" I told her I had been receiving a vaccine, & did not hear the announcement. The people working in pharmacy said they could not understand the announcement, & did not know she had told everyone to leave. I thanked the pharmacy people & turned to leave, she followed me toward the door-I tripped on the sticky floor, & left. I am sore and upset with how I was treated. They should do better! read more

I called in a refill yesterday that was supposed to be ready after 1pm. I went to pick it up at 10:30am via the drive-thru the following morning and was told to come back after 1pm. The medication is really time sensitive and there was no way I could wait until 1pm. I was completely blown off by the elderly lady working the window. I came inside to explain why it was time sensitive, completely in tears, and she was BEYOND RUDE to me. Tossing the medication on the counter, being extremely short with me, and lacking any professionalism. I will be switching pharmacies after this. I've had absolutely enough of the long waits, attitudes, etc. (I've already contacted Customer Care. Unfortunately, I highly doubt things will ever change at this pharmacy. My husband dropped off a renewal for my script manually earlier today, since we were wanting to change pharmacies, because he wanted to make it easier for me to pick up my script every month through the drive through. When I went to pick up my script, they not only insinuated that he wasn't my legal husband and that I wasn't a part of his insurance plan (which I most definitely am), they kept saying that my information didn't match the insurance information, which is definitely not the case. If only anyone in that pharmacy knew what the fuck they were doing. I guess I'll continue using the pharmacy that actually knows how to do their fucking job across the street. To add... as soon as I drove away from the drive through with rage and bewilderment at their incompetence, I went back to my original pharmacy and dropped off the scripts and they already had my insurance information (the SAME CARD that the incompetent mousy looking middle aged lady at RiteAid said was the wrong information and didn't match) and they are literally filling the script right now. On no less than two separate occasions my palliative care team put in a request to renew my pain medication, and not only did the Cooper Pointe road location fail to notify me, when my husband called to check they said no request had been made, subsequently leaving me in pain for days while my script sat completely idle. What a change for the better!!! As short a time as a month ago I saw a man going out of the store muttering, "This is not a drug store and their customer service sucks." I had to agree. I hated having to go there and vowed the next time I would drive all the way to Shelton, to the Medicine shop for my meds. The only bright light there was/is an older checker up front. Rite Aid even took away the chairs in the area where people wait to have prescriptions filled so they had to stand!!! The staff was also an unhappy lot. Well, all that has changed. No accountability in this pharmacy. I dropped off 2 Rx. One to be picked up on the 1st and the second to be picked up on the 3rd. I called ahead of time and the pharmacy confirmed the one on the 3rd. When I picked up the 1st one I was told the 2nd one would be ready on the 3rd. I nodded and agreed. I was out of town and had my wife swing in to pick it up. I got a text from my wife and she stated it can't be picked up till the 5th. I don't get it. I know these are not pharmacist I'm talking too, but this is a numbers job...you might wanna do some retraining of your employees. Pharmacy used to be really good not sure what has recently happened. Can't ever get ahold of somebody on the phone. Medications are never ready. No updates are given to you when your meds are ready. When you return when they say your meds are ready they're still not ready. Time to find another Pharmacy. Convenient but confused pharmacy. Convenient options include text messaging when prescriptions are ready, and drive-through pickup. Sounds great. However, as a new customer, I've experienced unusual "service" in the first month: - text messages received when prescriptions were not ready - Rite Aid asked my doctor to fill a prescription I've never used - clearly a case of confusion with another patient's records - Rite Aid faxed both my doctors with refill requests, though I specified that no refills were needed yet. Was refused my prescription due to lapsed insurance despite asking multiple times to pay for it outright - was told "if you can afford this medication you can afford insurance" (it was an $11 prescription for antibiotics). When my mother spoke with another employee, the version she was offered was that I demanded my medication for free: completely untrue. They wouldn't even quote me a price despite me asking repeatedly and told me "no one in Washington state" would honor the prescription...funnily enough I walked out the door with it not thirty minutes later from another pharmacy.
