They have a deli that's excellent for lunch my only complaint is some deli workers treat "your lunch" like slop, are stingy with their portions, and aren't caring like the other two deli workers. I pass 2 other grocery stores on my way to my local qfc. That makes my trips to qfc a choice. As they are a bit pricier. I choose to go there because they have had a good bakery. In the past. My last 3 cake orders were WRONG over the last 3 months (march, April and May birthdays in my house). The first 2 were only missing the piped writing. No big deal. Which brings me to the reason i will NEVER shop there again. I ordered a 2 layer bakery cake for my son's birthday. When I ordered i specifically ordered the 2 layer cake. NOT the four layer private selections factory made garbage they presented to me at pick up. I spoke to 2 bakery employees and a manager. All who seemed less than concerned. They even tried to convince me that it was 2 layer but the tag says 4 layer for some unrelated reason. I have actual grocery/bakery experience. I know these things happen but to ignore the fact they did NOT fill my order properly was really bothersome. The lack of customer service and the outright lie to my face that these 2 cakes are the same was enough for me. I wont go out of my way to shop or order here again. read more

** Disclaimer: this pertains only to the sushi section of the deli ** I went to QFC in the small hour between hunger and resignation, when a man tells himself that food is only fuel and believes it just long enough to be disappointed. The sushi lay in the cooler, lit like something preserved rather than prepared, each roll holding its shape with the quiet desperation of a thing meant to be eaten quickly and forgotten. The rice was the first betrayal. It had taken on water and weight, swollen and slack, as though it had rained too long on a field that once held promise. Good rice resists the teeth and then yields. This rice surrendered immediately and lingered, clinging in damp clots that spoke of time and neglect. The fish arrived in modest portions, shaved thin and laid on without conviction. It was not bad fish. That was the cruelty of it. It was clean and harmless and forgettable, like a story told without danger. There was no richness, no cold brightness of the sea, only the sense that someone, somewhere, had decided this much was enough. And over everything came the spicy mayo. It was applied generously, endlessly, in a way that suggested charity rather than care. It pooled and smeared and promised heat. There was none. The sauce was pale, fat with sweetness, a soft blanket meant to hide the absence beneath it. It did not wake the tongue. It suffocated it.. I ate in silence, because there was nothing to say. When it was finished, I felt full but not fed, a condition worse than hunger. Some meals stay with you. Avoid this Whitman Lane QFC. They pride themselves on quality, but the reality is bitter fruit, incompetent pharmacy staff, and inconvenient store policies. The pharmacy managed to lose my prescription and then had the audacity to ask me to call my provider to fix their mistake. Management at this store has been notified of issues twice now and clearly nothing changes. If you like overpaying for flavorless strawberries and being forced through self-checkout because they won't staff a register in the evening, this is the place for you. As for me, I'm headed to Safeway. Kroger is struggling for a reason--poor quality and even poorer service. read more

Why are the ladies in the self check so mean and angry. This is the second time that I have had an issue. They seem so put out when there is an issue with their machine. Unless you want compete rudeness, skip the self check or maybe just skip this store. read more

I am livid. I recently bought Black Forest ham for $13.99 a lb. Naturally I checked both sides of the bag and thought ok, looks good. The dirty dogs at QFC hid the many slices of ruddy meat. It was chocked full of gristle and fat. They put the few nice pieces on the outside. I dont usually shop QFC but only needed the 1 thing and I was going to the pharmacy so I bought the ham. Beautiful store. Insanely high prices. This review is primarily based off of the birthday cake I ordered. The cake decorator was lovely to work with- great service- however.... The cake was really poorly done. I asked for a simple chocolate cake- vanilla frosting, peanut butter filling. I would be decorating it later myself. Got the simple buttercream frosting (not made with garbage) and all you could taste was butter. Missing the right amount of powdered sugar. The frosting amount was super uneven, and the filling wasn't a buttercream, it tasted like it was STRAIGHT peanut butter. Very odd. Nobody liked the cake, including the birthday boy. (Normally I make the cakes at home, so I know how they should taste.) Disappointing. Note: I added cake topper, cityscape, and candles. read more

My favorite of the standard grocery stores in the Lacey/Olympia area by far so far. Prices are reasonable, good sales, it's clean and the staff are friendly. I've gone to Fred Myer, Safeway, Thriftway, Grocery Outlet and Winco and QFC really just beat them all - Fred Meyer is just too large/overwhelming, and the quality at the others just isn't as high. Thriftway has some good stuff but is not a one stop shop. Overall, further away than my other stops but when I have the time and want a nice unstressful shopping trip, this is worth the extra 10 minutes in driving. read more

Gas Station is usually convenient for people like me, who pay in cash since most gas pumps have skimmers. Except when this kid KURT, is "working" the booth, he seems higher than a kite, doesn't know how to use your points, and is either in the bathroom or on lunch. read more

I'll simply say I wasn't impressed by this QFC. I had never been in a QFC before this experience and I really don't see a big difference in QFC and the Safeway diagonally across the street. Sure the prices are slightly lower, but I was underwhelmed. One good thing is it is small and quaint and I know there are people that like to get in and get out. I happened to go later in the evening and as like many of these smaller marts the staff in the fresh foods areas (bakery, meat, deli, produce) go home so the atmosphere of QFC may be quite different during the day. I hardly think this place is even busy during the day time as the parking lot was sparse when I went, but I may be wrong. I don't know if I look suspicious or what, but one of the two cashiers followed me around with her eyes each time I passed her as if I was going to shoplift, but not once asked me if I needed help. Um...no. I did like that there was a wine cooler, with a small selection and the produce looked pretty fresh. As you may notice from my reviews, parking is a big deal to me and the lot at QFC was okay. I had a little bit of a time getting out of the lot based on the way it's designed but it wasn't the worst I've seen by far. This store is a bit smaller than many, yet the dairy is spread between three or four areas of the store. The produce looks good but the selection of organics is much smaller than in any of the Fred Meyer stores in the area. What gets me in here are the sales. When they put some items like seafood on sale it is worth the extra drive to the area to take advantage of the sale. Employees are friendly but it sometimes takes a while to find someone to take care of you when you step up to the seafood/meat counter. I have also noticed that at the end of the sale cycle they are sometimes out of the item on sale, so you have to get a raincheck from the cashier up front. It would help if the department that is out of something could issue a raincheck on the spot. Price-wise, I checked their prices on some items that I frequently buy and they are definitely on the high side. Cat food that I can get for 60 cents a can at Fred Meyer or 58 cents at Petsmart goes for 70 cents at QFC - on sale. QFC won't be my main store but I will continue stopping by for sale items that are worth the extra drive. read more

My problem is with the pharmacy. I am Type 1 diabetic. My needles were supposed to be in this past Tuesday. When I went to pick them up Tuesday, I was told they weren't in stock and would be available Thursday. On Thursday, they still weren't in stock and they didn't know when they would be back in stock. If I can't get the needles by today, (Friday) I will either be dead or in the hospital before the 3 day weekend is over because I doubt they will be getting new deliveries over the holiday weekend. If they would have told me on Tuesday they couldn't get them before the weekend, I could/would have ordered some on the retailer that starts with A. The stress is really stressing me out. They said I could get the Kroger needles for $24 when my co-pay is $0 for needles. I pay plenty to QFC for my insulin and test strips. I could have ordered them from A for about $8 if they had only told me they wouldn't have been able to get them before the holiday weekend. I guess I will have to dig into my sharps and reuse needles this weekend so I don't die or have to go the the hospital. NOT COOL QFC!!! read more

Man, I do not know what is up with the bakery in this place, but they have magical powers. I rarely shop here but whenever I am nearby, I stop in to grab some Devil Dogs - crazy name, I know. They are delicious chocolate cake thingamajigs. Well, today they were out so I opted to get a Whoopie Pie & some Double Brownie thing. Generally grocery store bakeries taste the same - mediocre butter-creams and mostly dry cake. I don't know if it's the staff they have or some actual elves back there crafting but if you find yourself in this grocery, seriously, try something from their bakery, you will not regret it. read more

The employees, exceptional. The products labeled "Private Collection", they are always just bad. The latest tried is Prosciutto and Mozzarella rolled together. Horrible. No taste from either. I dissected it separately, just bad. Don't buy it and don't try anything labeled "Private Collection", which is synonymous for "we put together bad cheap products and try to sell it as Private and a Collection to make is sound good. For those that don't already know, QFC has some pretty awesome deli sandwiches. They have names for each of them. The Mt. Rainier is awesome! Unfortunately, this particular QFC told me that didn't or couldn't make it. They had a few of the others. Not really sure why, it doesn't seem to be a smaller location or deli... but the gentleman told me they didn't have the ingredients to make it. Boo! Nice grocery store with a good variety of produce. There is also a deli and bakery with a lot of freshly baked goods. The store doesn't have self-checkout, though. Whenever I go to this location, there are typically only a couple of checkout lanes open which results in a little bit of a wait. I'm sure at peak times there are more lanes open, but at times like this self-checkout would be a bonus. This location also has a Chase bank branch with a friendly staff. read more

I am so happy I have this QFC near my home. They have a nice selection of organic produce and natural and organic products. Sometimes I don't want to drive all the way to the coop or Trader Joe's to buy food, so this is perfect for me. I always buy our organic berries and bananas at QFC, since they are better then the ones I find at Trader Joe's. The staff here is awesome too. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. read more

We shopped here for the first time, and were amazed. I don't know if this is typical , but the store was clean, had nice wide aisles, well stocked shelves, and very few shoppers. I'm not good at comparing prices, so I don't know if that's a factor, but the service was cheerful, friendly, and efficient. It's not as convenient as our local Fred Meyer, but for larger shopping trips, I may be switching stores. Since they are both owned by Kroger, it's not that big a switch. read more

I like this store, and I like having cashiers. UNFORTUNATELY, the management of Kroger has decided that Self-Check is the preferred method. I oppose the self-check because it means that corporations are focused on firing employees. I support avoiding self-checkouts everywhere. Aside from the current grocery pricing that seems to be the norm everywhere (higher than I would like but, apparently valid) I like everything about this place. the staff goes out of it's way, literally and figuratively to assist, food is beautiful and fresh: fresh vegetables and fruits beautifully displayed, meats well cut and wholesome. Great grocery store. Way different from back home in south Texas but they have great prices on their items.

I love this store. Some of my friends think that they are expensive. Maybe they are a bit more than Walmart, but they have really great sales. The store is always clean and the employees are friendly, and unlike Walmart it does not take forever to park or to check out. The bakery is awesome and the ladies who work in the bakery are the best. I get coffee here all the time, and every 6th drink is free. read more
