My son's doctor called in a prescription Thursday. I called Monday June 3 around 9:30a to make sure it was ready to be picked up. They said it wasn't but would be in about an hour. I went to the pharmacy around 1:30p and it wasn't ready. I said I had called at 9:30a and had been told it would be ready in an hour and the person who was helping me said she didn't know why they told me that. I then asked how long it would be and was told the pharmacist was at lunch so it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I left and, I kid you not, about five minutes after I got home, I got a call and text that the prescription was ready. I had to drive there again to pick it up. When I picked it up, there was no apology or any explanation. I will be switching my prescriptions to Costco. read more

It has gotten worse. The prescriptions are never ready. They shutdown and dont tell you they are shut down. Your prescription ends up sitting there in front of you but you cannot get it because the only pharmacist is on lunch. The store remains filthy. I am switching to another pharmacy. This pandemic has changed the way a lot of businesses operate, and Rite Aid is one such business. But in spite of the problems this pandemic has and is causing, the store still finds time to follow guidelines to keep their staff and customers safe during these times. The masking rule is in effect, the social distancing as well. And as soon as you enter, they have a dispenser for hand sanitizer for your use. I have been here a number of times, but not as frequent as I actually need or want. During this visit, I had the need for some OTC meds for allergy and pain relief and quickly found it. The aisles were well labeled enough to guide you where you need to go. And a staff member passed by to ask if I needed help. I just thanked him and told him that I found what I was after already, and I was just deciding which was better. He offered advice: go for the Rite Aid generic...which saved me money at the register. The place might be short-staffed...but I think what's there proves the quality over quantity adage... It is a nice store to get your medications. I happened to remember this place from my previous visits a while back, so today, on an off chance drive...I came back and was not disappointed with my search and the service I received! read more

We made an appointment for flu shots at 6:20 they took us until 7:15pm. They said someone went out for lunch, but I think they should block that time and allow no appointments. Waiting for almost an hour it's not ok. read more

I can't believe that a pharmacy can run out of medication. But when it keeps happening it is a huge problem. Since we live in a nation where they give pills over care. It's pretty important to get them. Living in pain is one thing. But it's really scary when it affects your health and happens multiple times. This pharmacy need to be power cycled. There are some very nice people here. It's what saves this store, They seem short staffed. Pharmacy always opens late. No hand sanitizer at the pharmacy during a pandemic? With the lengthy check out processes that require you to touch what multiple sick people touch? Makes me think you all don't care about your customers much. Don't get me started on having to start a new rewards card every time you change your phone number (eye roll). Treat your staff better than your customers. They are saving this location. Gonna sign up for mailed prescriptions through somebody else so I don't die because of your check out procedures. These pharmacists are either incompetent or unwilling to help customers; They will tell you that you need a prescription for over the counter medication then argue with you. To be fair there may be a language barrier, but they really need to be able to communicate more effectively as well as take a course in customer service. I went to raleys on Folsom blvd to buy the same product and the results were night and day: I was in and out in ten minutes with a helpful pharmacist who spoke English proficiently. This review is for the pharmacy. DO NOT use this pharmacy even if it's conveniently located!!!!! I'm contemplating suing this place because they recently made a typo on one of my prescriptions. This typo basically meant I took double the amount I was supposed to. Luckily the pharmacist said the drug was not deadly. So to cover their ass they gave me a free months refill and did not charge my insurance either. I guess you can say that's good customer service, but not really since they could have killed me with the mistake they were fixing!!!! Other than that there is always a long wait. Also when I have to get a refill and I am out of refills it always takes over 1 week for them to contact my doctor's office. Or both offices point the finger and I have to call my doctor and ask them to call rite aid or tell rite aid to call UCDavis, such a pain. Also if you get a message that your order is ready I always give it an extra day, because it's never ready. Thank goodness I will be switching insurance in January and I won't have to deal with this place again. read more

The pharmacy there is horrible and has the worst workers possible. There are people with out jobs and there are people like that working and providing service. They were so rude and disregarding. I wanted to use good RX because I have no health insurance and they made me wait 30 min!! To get me my prescription that was already ready!!!!! She had me sitting there while she did nothing. Some people have a gift of making you feel dumb. This pharmacy does just that. I was told to come back to pick up my prescription in 20 minutes. After waiting for longer than 20 minutes and coming back to pick it up I was told to wait another 30 minutes. Because there is a language barrier I clarified saying I had been told to come back in 20 minutes, with no effort or apology I was ignored. So I sat down to where they can see me and started the timer. Finally I received my prescription and was informed on how to use it in words that I could not understand. Really wish to see improvement here with the staff being a lot nicer. Nobody wants extra stress when picking up a medication! read more

I regret coming here each time. I'm a weekly customer, who shops here frequently. Each time I am followed around by a sales associate. Yes I have a large purse and my very own Trader Joe's shopping bag, but for someone who is here on a weekly basis and always pays for my items I am constantly profiled as a thief. It's disrespectful and incredibly rude to assume so. Today was the last straw. As soon as I walked in, the cashier took one look at me and called for an associate on the floor. Mind you I am a daycare provider simply just picking up cleaning products and hair spray. As I headed towards the cleaning aisle I could feel being watched and saw several workers pass by me. I went through most of the aisles just browsing and passing time WITH items in my cart. Finally I was ready to check out. As I was putting my phone number in, the cashier asked me to flip my bag over. She stated, "we just have to do that. Just trying to follow the rules". I told her I have never had to do that here or even heard of that. Once I proved to her that my shopping bag was empty, I checked out, paid for my items like a normal consumer, and headed out the door. The security system went off on me. I looked at the cashier and she called someone over to check my shopping bag and receipt. Again, she was proved wrong! She was more than welcome to check my purse. I was embarrassed, belittled, and honestly believe I was profiled. Is it because I'm of a different race that you people assume I'm a thief or in my early 20s just buying cleaning products? I had other customers staring at me as well and it was the most traumatizing experience at a store. I hope they get shut down and will be taking this up a lawyer. By far THE worst pharmacy I've ever been to in all of Sacramento. Besides Derek, the Head Pharmacist, EVERYONE treats me like total garbage. Arrogant, indifferent, cross, disrespectful, smug & horrible customer service are what I get from these 'pharmacy technicians' a whole lot, but tonight really crossed the line (nov 21st 2016). I have never, ever, in my whole life, been treated like dirt that was nothing but waste. This review is only for their Pharmacy--Horrible Service. The Pharmicist who manages this place is quite mean. He has assisted me over the phone and in person. I did not like either experience. He even raised his voice at me once. Several times, I have walked up to the Pick Up waiting area, we would make eye contact, but he would not come up to assist. So rude. He seems to have this "that's not my job" type of attitude. As soon as I walk up to the cash register, a pharmacy tech would come over and help. The same thing happened to another gentleman today. I heard this customer say "i cannot believe this" while he looked at the Pharmacist. Overall mediocre customer service and attitude. While they have helped in the past with insurance problems, this is spotty. The last time they refused to help straighten up a screwup that my doctor made. So, I had to take on the burden. I am a paid caregiver for someone disabled. The disabled must rely on vendors and suppliers who are attentive and not hostile to the concept of customer service. So, I have found a different pharmacy to take our business at this final straw. I only go in here when I am desperate or forced. And today I was reminded once again why I hate this place. Most associated are rude, unwilling to help, have an attitude, and don't seem to know much about their job. I needed printer ink and found it to be locked, I looked for an associate but couldn't find one so I went to the cashiers. There was one ringing, two standing around, and 1 complaining loudly that she didn't get her candy bar on her break. I waited patiently in line and when it was my turn I said I needed printer ink unlocked. I didn't wait around to see who would help me I just went back to the aisle and figured at some point someone would come. A girl did finally come and when I asked her if I could return it if it didn't work she said she wasn't sure. She unlocked it, handed it to me and walked away which defeats the purpose of having locked merchandise if you're just going to give it to me and leave me unattended. I went back to the front where the woman was still complaining about her candy bar and I asked the cashier if I could return it if it wasn't the right one. She said she thinks so but wasn't sure. How can two of your associates not know your return policy? I only hope it works so I don't have to make a return trip, and I don't have to deal with no one knowing how to help me if God forbid I need to return it. I feel I'm being generous with two stars. The new remodel looks good, however instead of hiring some fresh blood they kept the same ol rude people. One lady there just believes its her house. Quite a few times she has just screamed over my head for change, she needs her break etc. If some poor old lady is asking about the location of an item or needing.to go grab another item they'll look at them like they're crazy then tell them to go get it. I also love the way they don't look.you in the.eyes, comment on what youre purchasing ( this happens to be a pet peeve of mine). Most of the time her and a few other cashiers seem to be bothered by customers. Do they know who pays their paycheck? The previous is not.even.what upsets me the most. That the manager is also not customer friendly and that he just let these horrible excuse for customer service representatives still.be employeed, shows he has no managerial skills or common sense. How can you honestly employee people in a retail store who contain 0 customer service skills? They do apparently have a good customer base, which I pretty sure is just out of convenience. I fluctuated between 2 and 3 stars, but had to give them the higher one due to Juan the manager, JoAnne a cashier, and Steve, another cashier. I love these people! They are fantastic at customer service, very easy to deal with, personable, and extremely friendly. As far as I am concerned, if the pharmacy wasn't a part of this store, I would give this Rite Aid 5 STARS! Alas, there is that bleeping pharmacy that I have my prescriptions at for convenience. It's right around the corner. There is the guy who smirks at everything as he rings you up. The pharmacist who believes it is below him to talk with customers, even if you have a specific question for a pharmacist only, and the two-three bitchy women who also work there, though I must say the older lady is ok most of the time. Whenever my doctor sends a new prescription to them, or they ask my doctor to approve a refill, I call to see if it's been filled before I go in. The answer and I am not exaggerating is, "We did not receive anything from your doctor" every single time! I know damn well my doctor sent a new one in, I watched her do it. Same goes for refills. I got the run around so bad one time, they even hung up on me, I told Juan, the manager. Within 2 minutes, the clerk from the pharmacy called me, prescription in hand, lame excuse, but very polite. I know what to do next time it happens, but it's been a month and a few prescriptions later, and they are now prompt and polite with me. read more

Purchased chocolate and truffles today that were on sale 2 for $6. But I did not have my rite aid card because it was a last minute stop. They asked for a phone number that is linked to card but the numbers I put in did not bring up acct. I asked if they could just use a blank card so I could get the discount. To my surprise the cashier said they did not have one and there was nothing she could do. This would not have been a problem at CVS. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I really wish I could say something positive about it, but every time I go in to pick up a prescription, there is some problem with it, or they can't find it despite the fact that their automated service called me to tell me my medication is ready for pick up. I've always used the automated telephone refill service which, up until about eight or ten months ago, worked like a charm. But now, it never works right, and I've had to make two or three visits to the store to get my prescriptions because they have no record of the request for a refill. Half of the time, staff will tell me that I have no refills available even though my bottle says I have plenty, and when they look up the prescription while I am waiting, there are refills available. I've also been told that my doctor denied refills when I have emails to the contrary, and it has turned out to be a glitch in their system. On my last visit, I was point blank told by staff that I should not use the automated refill process, because it "does not work.". I feel badly that the staff has to deal with such an inferior computer system. But it is beyond frustrating for me to put up with these problems. I am in the process of switching my prescriptions to another pharmacy because of the constant inability to get my medication without ginormous hassles. read more

I have lived in the area of this store sence 1978 when it was thrifty drug the only change is the name.i transferred my pharamacy neededs to raley's and what a difference.i have been in rite aid twice in the last month to buy beer and have been asked for I.d. I am 68 years young this is an insult to me and there help,it tell me they don,t think there halo is up to doing there job.i worked 34 years in the retail grocery business and was never told by management to card a customer that there was no question of there age.the only thing the this is going to do is run business off,I guess they have more than they need. I had picked up a bottle of mouthwash (Rite Aid's brand, no less) and was standing in line with two "courtesy" clerks working registers. The customers at register one had finished their transaction and as I walked up, the clerk started walking away from the register and told me that the other clerk would help me as soon as she was finished with her customer. As this kind of poor customer service has happened in the past, Rite Aid WILL NOT get another opportunity to show me how they value good customer relations. My boyfriend was super super sick spent 3 days in a row in the ER they prescribed him 2 medications the first time, did breathing treatment s the second time and then prescribed antibiotics and cough medicine and norcos for his chest pain... This Rite Aid refused to fill his prescription because they "didn't believe he needed norcos for chest pain caused by a cough" pharmacists are NOT doctors it is ILLEGAL to withhold medications prescribed by a doctor. The prescription was filled already they refused to hand it to him. What the f kind of customer service is that. So we go home and we get a call saying they are going to contact the doctor to get it verified okay cool so he'll be able to finally get his meds... Three days go by then the doctor called my boyfriend and asked how he was feeling and if those medications are working... He explained to the doctor that they won't give him the medications turns out the doctor already verified these medications TWICE. After speaking with the doctor we go back to Rite Aid to pick up his meds per doctor's orders ... STILL REFUSED TO GIVE HIM HIS MEDICATIONS. Screw you guys he could sleep eat drink could barely walk.
