A dirty, unprofessional store, with 'customer service' as an after-thought. I use this location only as a drug store with the closure of Rite Aid, and that service is disorganized and slow. Recently, I stopped to pick up prescriptions, and all 4 handicapped parking spaces were blocked by a large delivery van, which did not move for 40 minutes ( I left and returned).The staff member on smoke break, told me it was a vender truck and not the store responsibility. read more

I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE CVS. I come here at least twice a month and there was a time when I would come in once a week, to the point where I had a conversation with an employee and mentioned that I come here a lot and he agreed. HA! Reasons why I love CVS and this one in particular, is the fact that parking is never a struggle and the employees are friendly and helpful. Most of the time, things are in stock and I don't have trouble finding what I want, need, or want to think about buying. SIGN UP FOR THE EXTRABUCKS! The coupons, ExtraBucks, and 2% cashback makes it so fun. There was once a time where I couponed SO HARD that the balance went to $0.00! I love to challenge myself to see how much LESS I can pay, for an item or two, compared to big retailers. I shop for makeup here. I've been coming to this CVS for so long that I remember when they didn't have ELF and now ELF makeup is back! The brand I am most loyal to here is Wet N Wild. I love the self-checkout feature. If there's ever an error or I need help, the employees are timely and communicative. One time, I had this coupon that was not working and the manager went above and beyond to ensure that the coupon worked for me! I will never talk bad about this place, ever. The pharmacy can get busy at times but I've never had a hard time with the staff. CVS is a retail store so there's always stuff to be put out on display; the workers do their best and I appreciate their efforts and work. When Christmas is over, their sales are worth checking out so you can load up on gift bags, gift card holders, and wrapping paper at half the price or cheaper. All in all, this CVS is my favorite. Stopped into CVS last night looking for some Christmas goodies. While they had some things, I didn't feel smacked in the face with Christmas options like you normally would be this time of year. It wasn't like they sold out of items, it felt more like they hadn't finished putting everything out on the shelves. I found it odd since it's already December. Either way, we left with a few items! They had a bunch of candy canes and some Grinch items. They even had some Elf on the Shelf items, but overall, I felt a bit letdown by their lack of items. I also didn't like that one of the employees was hovering over me and helping check me out at the self-check out. It felt weird and I know some CVS locations have issues with theft, but I'm perfectly capable of checking out my own items while you watch from afar. This store makes you use the self check out, which I don't usually use. I put my item on the counter, and the clerk said to use the self check out.after scanning the one item I was purchasing, I put it next to me rather than the space to put the scanned items, because it was filthy, and i didn't want to dirty the box. The clerk said to put it down on the side. I told her "but it's filthy ". She heard me but ignored me. So I had to put my merchandise down in the dirty space to complete my purchase. This is my go to pharmacy as I live right across the street. I love that I can walk here. There's parking but many of the Trader Joe's customers park in this lot. They have a drive thru for the pharmacy portion. I have received my vaccinations at this location a few times and each time was a decent experience. I love shopping here for seasonal items. Many times they have low stock but customers can find items end of season on clearance and I got a lot of goodies on sale due to this. With CVS closing many of their locations, I sure hope this one sticks around. I have been shopping here for well over a decade and enjoy this particular location for the convenience. read more

Just a few questions to ponder: what use is posting hours of operation if you're closed during listed hours of operation? What is the purpose of advertising a pharmacy if it isn't staffed? Why would someone send a message claiming a prescription was ready when they still had more than an hour of work left to do to fill it? Had a painful infection. Go to pick up drugs and they are closed for an hour and a half. I'm flying out of town unable to come back. I have someone pick up prescription they wait in line for an hour after they open. Horrible. The meds were sent on the next plane. Not ok! read more

I see 58 one star reviews of 108 reviews as of right now. Wow. But not surprising. Started going here for my meds after Rite Aid closed over a year ago. So much worse. Not talking the staff interactions. Those are certainly decent. But the pharmacy is just customer unfriendly. Lines are always long at the intake. If you want to go thru the car pickup line, those are long too, although there is a staff person there all the time, so that staff person cannot go much faster. But absolutely wonder how many would be in that line if not for the customer mess inside. Plus, even with the sign outside the window saying they close the pharmacy at 7, they always close the pickup window at least 20 minutes early sometime earlier. So frustrating. And try calling with an issue or question. Can't get to a worker. Only can leave a message. They tell you they will call back within an hour if they have a question. That does not happen. Hours and hours and you better be by your phone when they call, or you are starting all over. Just a really poorly run business. read more

Ordered pictures. Was told ready by 3pm. Came in at 830pm and still wasn't printed. Just asked about it and Terrance was incredibly rude. Made me feel stupid and told me there's a lot of photos. I never gave attitude but he was so off putting and clearly mad he works there. Worst vaccine experience today. The technician reached over her desk and under the glass consultation window to give me the flu shot before I realized what she was doing. It was really painful (and really bizarre) and all she said was "all done now." I looked down and the trash bin was overflowing with discarded gloves and wrappers from injections. So I came into this cvs for an RX pick up and arrived 2 minutes until they closed . I just had a pick up and there were two pharmacies sitting there with their gat half way closed . I said "excuse me I have pick up" the woman looked at the the wall clock that said 8:02 and I looked at my iPhone clock that said 2 minutes till. So I replied "according to who , my smart phone connected to the global clock and it's actually 2 minutes until ." And she gave me some lame lie of an excuse saying " not all clocks are the same and we are. Closed and their registers won't ring you up!' What a crock of Sh*t!!! That only applies when you try to buy booze after 2am. I think this is one of my biggest bet peeves! You know when you make it to a place before they are advertised time yet the work is so concerned about leaving work they forget their how to be civil to a fellow human being! Obviously I have help issue that require needing a RX and for all they know it could fatal for me not to receive my medication. And sure I should get to a businessman or so close to the end of the hours but unfortunately I was coming to this location for the first time so I got a little lost getting g the the pharmacy. I've noticed that this pharmacy often has long wait times, and it can feel frustrating when the staff seems overwhelmed. As I wait in line, I realize I might need to explore other options. I had a delivery order with Roadie and pickup was here at 5039 Folsom Blvd, this pickup was needed to be picked up at the store front line.. as I approached the store front line Michael the clerk didn't ask the proper questions I assume because later that evening after he stated he thought it was a "picture order ". I showed him my gig and told him the name of the customer so he could search for the order . He went to a computer looked up a name came back and asked me to provide an email receipt that shows when the order was placed, I would not have access to that info due I am the delivery driver. I reached out to support stating the order was not found during the look up. Customer support then called the store. Michael called Karen the manager over to the phone. When the phone call was over Karen said "the order is waiting to be picked up to the live customer agent on the phone " I have been there for 35 minutes during this 35 minutes Karen is back and forth to the front, right due to Michael consistently needing her assistance .... Karen located the order and did not ask me about the mishaps/miscommunication on their end with her being able to address this it is to help better obtain the order quicker , easier , and more efficient for the next time. I completely thought that maybe there was a malfunction with the 3rd party app and Pharmacy ... This cvs pharmacy is interesting, I switched my prescriptions over here and noticed that I would get updates saying they're ready for pick up yet the pharmacy would not be ready with the medication for 3-4 days. I thought this was a minor delay but I noticed it happening every time and to others when I would go. The pharmacy does not have an explanation for this and the techs are pretty unpleasant. TLDR if you need a place to pick up tylenol/ hallmark cards this place is great. If you actually need medication regularly, this is a spot to avoid. I visited your location on West El Camino in Sacramento, CA on 9/20/2024 at 12:43 PM. I had some purchased to make and did not want to go home first, but had to use the restroom. I was told the toilets were not working so I could not use the bathroom. Having shopped there since 2021 I knew where the other bathroom was so I went there and immediately was told "This is an employee bathroom and you cannot use it". This store never fails to disappoint. The shelves are poorly stocked, items poorly priced, and chaos seems to be the strategy. There is a sign by the milk that warns us to check the expiration date...now it's our fault if the milk goes bad...that really erodes my trust factor. I came to the pharmacy yesterday at 2:00, 6 of us in line, and a clerk proudly proclaims, "Yes! We DO take a lunch!" Well! How You-centric! As for me, I have a new pharmacy and wonder why it took so long. The answer is that I fiercely keep my shopping close by and support East Sacramento businesses with all my might. A great cvs location with really helpful pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. I am here 2 times a month as a rule picking up meds for myself and family members. Even though my parents moved to another neighborhood, we still kept this pharmacy after seeing how effectively they are able to work through challenging issues in the ever changing pharmaceutical landscape. They have gone to bat on a number of occasions on stressful issues (like my mom's insulin rx) and really focus on problem solving. Whether you go to the drive thru or counter, the service is great and I can count on them to get it right or work with me if there are concerns. I love their app where I can order or check in on refills and rx status. I like to scan my app to check in. Yes, you will get really long cvs receipts...yes they can be very busy sometimes. But it's worth it in the end. I can count on CVS. read more

I came in to pick up my 24x36 size poster and the manager told me the coupon only applies online. I didn't know this and was upset because I was going to have to drive across town to get my computer and upload the document I was trying to print just to get the coupon to apply online. If you want to burn a ton of time and feel like it's life you'll never get back, use this CVS. You aren't going to get out of this vortex of a pharmacy it ain't gonna happen any time soon. Whether you're sitting in the drive thru or standing in line inside, you'll feel agitated, upset and nonplused. Cars will not move outside for a long time. I usually give up, get out of line, park and go in. When I'm in the inside line, I learn more and more about condoms because you will be standing in that section as you watch the pharmacy techs frantically going through piles of prescriptions looking for yours. My daughter received a text that her prescription was ready. She is a student and paid for an Uber ride but when she got there she was told her meds were at the Fair Oaks location. It's a simple refill and is NOT an opioid or anything like that yet the pharmacists act as if they can't do anything. I called back I spoke to Antenello and she mentioned the prescription was at the fair oaks location and needed a "prescription request" and that's all the information she could see or get. Summary: Inept, inattentive pharmacy staff who NEVER Pick up the phone... seriously, I've never been able to reach them once. Rude, condescending leadership (store manager). The store is fine if you're just grabbing something quick, but avoid the pharmacy at all costs. Go to Walgreens or Safeway nearby, or even a different CVS location. I typically enjoy CVS for store experiences--they tend to be more expensive than Walgreens, but frequently send me 40% coupons that justify the costs for common personal care products, cosmetics, etc. - even cheaper than Amazon after the discount! However, this location's pharmacy in particular is bad. I've only ever filled my prescription at one other CVS location and their service was impeccable so I expected the same from here, but this is probably the worst pharmacy customer service I've ever experienced. Firstly, they don't pick up their phone. I've been on hold for 30 minutes without them picking up. I had a prescription issue where I needed it delivered to my address so that I could avoid going in store during COVID (this is a service that all CVS locations offer for free, with free local delivery--I've done it before in the Bay Area with no issues). They didn't pick up and I needed the meds urgently, so I called the store. The employee who picked up then transferred me to the pharmacy line, which again was the same line that no one was answering. So I called the store back and asked how I could get my message across to the pharmacy, and she said "I can't do anything other than transfer you." Well we already tried that and I've wasted my time for an hour at this point--are you willing to help me in any other way?? I asked if there was a manager who might have to the power to nudge pharmacy, and she snootily responded "I am the manager" and didn't do anything else to help. So, I had to contact the CVS corporate number (yes, the basic 1-800 number) and selected the Store Feedback option. I told them my store number and address and that I wasn't able to reach pharmacy for an urgent refill request. They were able to contact the pharmacy through a backline and get my meds delivered. Funny how they pick up the line for corporate calls but not for everyday customers..? The customer service representative was suprisingly kind and helpful, and promised me a tracking number through USPS. Well it never came even though I had received texts, emails, and automated voicemails from the pharmacy before--they had my number AND address AND email. So I called the 1-800 line back and another representative had to call the pharmacy AGAIN the next day, and give me the tracking number. Overall, such a waste of time that took 3 days in what could have been solved in just minutes if someone had just picked up the phone. The next day I finally received my medication in the mail. Aaaand it was the wrong generic brand. It would have been nice if they'd at least notified me beforehand that they wouldn't have my usual brand in stock so I could at least get the scrip changed to a location that did have it. If it was just the store that was hard to reach, that would be one thing, but the pharmacy where people depend on medications related to their health? It seems super unprofessional to not pick up the phone or even acknowledge the customer in any way when these issues could be potentially life-threatening. And then on my CVS.com account and the refill slip, they had the nerve to write "You are entitled to speak with your pharmacist about this prescription. Please call you pharmacist for more information." Sorry but how?! read more

I was helped today by a wonderful store associate named Joyce. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, engaging, and professional. I came today to passport photos made and she took great care to make sure the photos were perfect and met all the US passport requirements. I was also very impressed with how she was able to simultaneously help several customers while still managing the photobooth. As a small business owner, I can tell when employees go above and beyond. I shopped here a week ago in search of supplies for my 88 year old mom. I am immune compromised so was a bit hesitant to go inside. I had tried to find a few items needed at Trader Joe's , but they didn't have all on my list. CVS to the rescue! I was greeted cheerfully by the staff upon entering and asked if I needed help finding anything. I noticed that had a 8-pack of toilet paper behind the register and asked if they had anymore. Turns out it was the very last one and they kindly held for me while I shopped. One of the staff (who turned out to be a manager) said she could look for everything I needed. She even checked the stock in the back for me producing the last two containers of bleach. What amazing service. I wish I recalled her name as she was an absolute gem and I'd like to thank her for making my shopping trip such a positive experience during a tough time in our lives. read more

Bad service and terribly organized. They told me my prescription needed authorization, which made me call my insurance only to be placed on hold for hours only to find out that it was authorized. I came back to pick up my prescription. They tried to tell me it wasn't authorized again and then after pushing back the lady finally said that it was approved after all. An aggravating experience here today. I received the usual text from the Folsolm Blvd CVS saying my prescriptions were ready. I had to walk there (1 1/4 miles) because my car was not available. When I got there I was told I couldn't have the prescriptions because the pharmacist was "out to lunch" (this was at 2:30) and would not return for 30 minutes; and I had to have a "consultation" with her even though I had taken these medications before. I didn't have time to wait. It seems to me that if there are going to be periods of time when, actually, your prescription isn't going to be ready because the pharmacist is out for a (long?) lunch, then you should be told that rather than simply that "your prescription is ready". I'm looking for a new pharmacy in Sacramento . . . read more
