On May 8, I contacted Pucci Pharmacy to ask whether I could bring in expired or unused prescription medications for proper disposal. I was told over the phone that it was acceptable to do so. I have been a customer of Pucci Pharmacy for over a year and have had my compounded hormone creams filled there through my healthcare provider. Although I live in the Natomas area and the pharmacy is not close to my home, I have continued using Pucci Pharmacy because I had never experienced any problems before this incident. On May 8, I went to the pharmacy with a bag containing old prescription medications for disposal. After waiting in line, I placed the bag on the counter and explained that I was there to dispose of the medications. The employee assisting me responded that she did not think they could accept them. A younger employee went to the back to ask someone for clarification. During this interaction, I became increasingly uncomfortable. I was already feeling ill because my stomach was upset and I urgently needed to use the restroom. In addition, the employee's tone made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. As someone on the autism spectrum, situations involving confusion, confrontation, or inconsistent communication can be especially overwhelming. The employee then asked whether I knew when my garbage service collected my trash and suggested that I remove the prescription labels and dispose of the medications myself. At that point, I said, "I'm sorry, I need to leave." As I walked away, I heard someone yell, "You can't leave this here." A male staff member then called me. He seemed frustrated from the beginning of the conversation. I explained that I had only brought the medications because I had been told over the phone that it was acceptable and that the pharmacy needed better communication between staff so customers would receive consistent information. Rather than trying to understand my concerns, the conversation became argumentative. I told him I was becoming frustrated because I felt I was being treated as though I had done something wrong, despite following the instructions I had been given. I asked what we could do to resolve the situation. He responded, "I'm not going to take this," and then hung up on me. Afterward, I called back and spoke with a manager. She was kind, understanding, and professional. I explained that the entire experience had been triggering for me because I am on the autism spectrum and that I believed the pharmacy needed better communication and greater sensitivity when interacting with customers, especially those with disabilities. The manager apologized, and I believed the matter had been resolved. However, on June 30, when I called Pucci Pharmacy regarding my prescriptions, I was placed on hold for an extended period before speaking with someone who identified himself as the owner. He informed me that, because of my previous visit, the pharmacy had decided they would no longer fill my prescriptions. I asked why this decision had been made, especially since I believed my conversation with the manager had ended on good terms and I had been a loyal customer for over a year. The owner stated that he had watched the security video and claimed that the staff had tried to help me, but that I simply walked out and left my "trash." I explained that I did not leave trash. I had brought old prescription medications because I had been told by the pharmacy that I could do so. Yes, I left the pharmacy because I felt overwhelmed, but I also stated that I was leaving. I did not intend to abandon anything improperly, nor was I trying to create a problem. Unfortunately, the conversation with the owner also became argumentative. I told him that I intended to file a complaint because I believed I was being treated unfairly as a person with a disability. He responded that the decision had nothing to do with my disability. I am deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled. What began as a misunderstanding caused by inconsistent information from the pharmacy ultimately resulted in me being refused service after more than a year as a customer. I believe the situation could have been resolved through respectful communication rather than confrontation. I also believe businesses serving the public should ensure their staff receive training on effective communication and appropriate interactions with individuals who have disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. read more

Not sure what to make of Pucci's. As a first time customer I was struck by a number of things. First, none of the products for sale had price tags on them or the shelves. When I asked the cashier she responded " her boss doesn't want to have them." How odd. Second, despite a half dozen people working in the back area the phone kept ringing and there was only one cashier. Perhaps this place is all about filling prescriptions and is the go to place. Came back again to get my prescription fixed (due to their error) and they're just as rude, if not more than the first time I was in here. Sitting here waiting for them to finish helping me and there are three other dissatisfied customers and an employee being rude to an elderly man. The elderly man was given the wrong pills. Refused to give me my prescription. They printed out my review and made me go into a room, closed the door and interrogated me over my Yelp review. I had to ask this man if he was holding me or if I was going to be able to leave twice. Finally he let me go after telling him I felt like I was being interrogated. Then proceeded to tell me he was going to transfer my prescription somewhere else and I cannot come back. How is this appropriate? For a business to hold your prescription medication hostage while they fight with you over a yelp review is completely unprofessional. Already filing a complaint with the pharmacy board. When you refused to give me my prescriptions unless I say I'm a closed room with you and interrogated me, you lost your shot at making things right. It is not professional to pull a woman into a dark room and not let her leave without her prescription until you after youve interrogated and scared her. read more

Be very careful when dealing with this pharmacy. If you want your order to be canceled multiple times without explanation this is the place for you. If you want your credit card taken by staff but never entered into the system and you want the pharmacist to call you the day your prescription is due to ask "if you still want it" then look no further. It took an entire month to get my prescription filled after multiple interactions with staff who had no idea what was going on. But I'm sure Joel will hop on and explain it all away with subtle shade and blame the customer. ;) read more

A tip for you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! the pharmacy I go to had my morphine for chronic pancreatitis on back order for some time. Med-i-cal rx found it for me at puccis pharmacy.dr. set up prior authorization, everything needed on Friday. Called them sat. Morning,first they said can't do because need to transfer all scripts to them. Told them this was One time fill, too far from my house,took an hour,they said ok..then said must transfer my other pain. Med over, once again, told him too far for me, back and forth, they said o.k. but needed to pay 50.00. told him but I have "double medi" plus have part d , in place. I HAVE THE RIGHT INSURANCE TO COVER IT. now ... This is where owner chimes in, all one and two star reviews he does. He'll say, well , the back is the front & the front is the back,a load of double talk, crap about his pharmacy being two places of business that nobody can understand!!!,I had to go and pay 50.00.i had no choice. Both girls at counter were rude to me for no reason.calked med-i-cal and med-i-cal rx, who knows , said I was not supposed to pay. They offered to talk to puccis, twice, they seemed scared to even talk to them, even owner. Med-i-cal is sending me a form for reimbursement. I used to go there when tom owned it for ten years a other location. Stopped then because they were very rude to me!. Who's pocket did the $go in?. I am so disappointed with Pucci's after todays experience. At 8:50AM my periodontist called in a prescription for Tylenol#3 for pain. I called Pucci's at 9:30 to let them know I'd be in later in the day for pick up. At 3:50 I arrived and there was no line and no one waiting. There were two women behind the counter on a computer trying to figure something out. After a minute or two, a woman said she'd help me. When I gave her my date of birth, she informed me that my prescription wasn't ready but she'd print a label and call me when it was filled. I stood to the side and watched a few more people file in for pick ups. Approx 8 mins later, I heard the pharmacist say "Elizabeth's rx is ready." I also heard a conversation with the pharmacist telling the tech that the 2 prescriptions he just filled were for people who were already waiting. Instead of getting back in line I patiently waited for my name to be called as that was what they told me would happen. At 3:20 I stood by the counter, watching them help everyone in line - all these people that came in well after I did. By this point I counted 4 people behind the counter not including the 2 pharmacists. Finally at 3:25, I asked someone if they could please give me my prescription b/c I had been waiting for over 30 minutes and knew it was ready. She walked right over to the basket that had been sitting on the counter to get it for me. So she also knew it was there! WTF!!!! When I told her I didn't need a pharmacist consult and also signed off that I didn't need one - she took the bag and said "I have to tell the pharmacist you are choosing not to have a consult." Then walked to the other side of the work space, in an office and came back with a pharmacist! WHY?! I said I didn't need a consult. I have the right to decline a consult. It felt like she purposefully did that b/c she could tell I was a bit irritated at waiting so long so she made me wait longer. By the time I left Pucci's I had spent 40 minutes in there to pick up a few pain pills for a gum graft. I was already in pain when I got there, then I get treated like that and have to wait even longer before I can take a pill that was prescribed to me. Completely unacceptable. I am a bedside nurse and would never treat a patient like that. My husband is a pharmacist so I understand things get busy etc. but I called at 9:30AM, gave them over 6.5 hours to prepare the rx which wasn't ready when I arrived, patiently waited for them to fill it and still ended up waiting all that time. So in the end from the time it was called in to the time I was able to actually pick up took nearly 7 hours! I purposely chose Pucci's b/c it's a smaller establishment and I like to support local places but after that horrible experience, I now have to find a new pharmacy. read more

I recently ordered a refill prescription, only to be told upon pickup that they no longer took my insurance...But I could order it from their closed door pharmacy which requires delivery and a 8 dollar delivery fee.Pickup is not an option. Now in trying to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy, they are providing the worst customer service and not transferring them. How can it take a week and still no transfer, I have called both Pucci and my new pharmacy and my scripts are being held hostage by Pucci's. Great service Pucci's, you are lousy. read more

Have tried for more than a year to support this local pharmacy since moving to Sacramento, but it's just impossible to recommend them in any way. I have a very simple list of medications that are quite essential to me, yet my prescription pick up is botched every time. Despite multiple calls from me days in advance giving a heads up when I will need my medication and receiving assurance that it will be ready, my medications are almost always not even being worked on yet when I show up. The front desk staff treats me with extreme disdain as soon as they see that I'm picking up a psychiatric medication. Their attitude implies that it is my fault that my medication is not ready, that I am somehow irresponsible. Shockingly disorganized and frankly denigrating place to have to interact with. So pleased to be taking my business elsewhere finally as family members have been urging me to for a long time now. read more

After the excellent Ten Pharmacy closed, I wanted my prescriptions transferred from Crocker Safeway to Pucci's as past experience at Safeway told me service would be terrible. When I was first prescribed something that the chain drugstores don't offer, I was honestly disappointed to need to go through a local pharmacy. I've grown accustomed to picking up prescriptions from a drive thru and an app. To my surprise, Pucci's does have an app where you can renew prescriptions, and you can call in a refill even after hours, with your Rx number. And I severely underestimated the benefits of not using a chain pharmacy. You can tell that everyone at Pucci's genuinely cares about people. Before a long weekend, the pharmacist and person working the register were so nice and helped me solve a problem with a prescription I was out of (and really didn't want to go without) before I even knew there was a problem. Even though I arrived *one minute* before they closed. If it was a chain I'm sure I would've been out of luck. read more

I'm gonna start this with I'm sick so I'm already frustrated and I'm not looking for anything from this pharmacy I just asked them to reevaluate their guest service skills. I'm sick with fever congestion you know we're all going through it. My doctor called in some antibiotics last night. I arrive at the pharmacy this morning. I go up there give my date of birth. She tells me it's not going to be ready for a few minutes. I say no problem. I shop around. I have two items that I want to check out with when I get my prescription until then I'm patiently waiting until it's time for me to leave because I have to go to work or I'll be late so I walk up to the counter. She didn't ask anything other than "did someone call your name?" I replied with no I just need to check out with these two items, I have to go because I need to get to work. I'll come back later. The cashier says I'm sorry which I have a problem with the words "I'm sorry" you only say that to someone who has passed correct guest services is "I apologize or Let me check on that for you" but not once did this cashier offer to check the status or to see if it was almost ready, which no problem whatever. I check out with my two items go out the door immediately get in my car and I got a text message from the pharmacy saying your prescriptions now ready! I find that insulting. I just told you that I had to leave to go to work and you couldn't check before I leave the pharmacy?!? People are already frustrated coming to a pharmacy because they're either sick or the healthcare in this country sucks or any other reason they're not coming there because they're in a great mood so whoever's training the frontline staff needs to understand that the guest service should be above par already because people are already frustrated. Now, take it however you wanna take it they can have the day they deserve cause I know I had the day I deserved by being sick and then having to return on my lunch break to pick up my prescription. read more

Forget the chains! My wife found this GEM for me after months of struggling with pharmacy rejection. I guess the DEA is to blame for the sched 1 . I was at Kaiser from 2015-2022 and there were changes that made life miserable. Every month with KP, it was a 3 trip minimum. That is no exaggeration. I have been with Anthem BC since 2023. Pucci's since around April 2023. My struggles are minimal now. I don't even have to drive there anymore. Once a month, I order on my phone. The techs and I communicate via the app, RX, and I get my scrips delivered. This just started for me 3 months ago. It may have been an option all along. They don't promote it in the store. I saw an ad for it on the counter and thought, wth. It is working wonderfully. A1 in my book! read more

Before the clinic, staffed entirely by Pucci's volunteers and interns donating their time and skills, Clint discussed the vaccine, the contra-indications, and the target populations at this time. I've literally only had one interaction with this place recently and that was only because my son was being discharged from having open heart surgery at Sutter. "Normal" pharmacies don't carry the pain medication the surgeon/doctors were prescribing so they sent the prescription to be picked up here. This pharmacy is fairly easy to find. There's a little parking lot behind the place, which is helpful since it's off of a fairly busy main street. There's also street parking, if you can find it, and if you don't want to park in the little parking lot...to each their own. Anyway, this pharmacy is literally no nonsense. There's not too many people in here so it's not busy, at least not when we were picking up my son's medication. The workers here were friendly and basically had the medication ready for us even though we were just discharged from the hospital about 20 minutes prior to us arriving (we had to pack the car and make sure my son was comfortable in his seat before leaving the hospital parking lot). It was a breath of fresh air since we didn't have to wait long. If you are looking for other medical items other than prescriptions, they have it here too. It's basically like a CVS/Rite Aid. Prices are about the same. Thank you for being nice and efficient. We really appreciate it since all we wanted to do was go home after my son being in the hospital for a week. read more

Pucci's is a live saver! They have a fully stocked pharmacy, medical supplies, Monkey Pox Vaccine and covid related items such as masks, gloves, and sanitizer. My family, friends and myself have been able to easily and quickly make an online appointment at the both the popups and clinic for our vaccines and boosters. We have also been able to easily book rapid Covid tests several times over the past few months. The entire staff has been friendly, efficient, and helpful. Welcome to East Sacramento! Pucci's which used to be located downtown, has widely moved its locally-owned pharmacy to Folsom Blvd. where it is now easier to access and sports a nicer building. This should be everyone's new favorite pharmacy if both supporting local and getting a better quality of service are your priority when getting your drugs. My family actually experienced them for the first time under not so great circumstances. the circumstances were not their fault...we were getting COVID tests after our son came back from daycare and gave us all a cold. Since he can't be vaccinated we wanted to play it safe and make sure he was both safe himself and not putting others at risk. The process for testing here is quite simple and convenient. You park in their parking lot and then they come out and do a nose swab test right through your window. The test itself was easy and painless and not at all invasive except for a couple tickles deep in the nose. We had our results back within an hour. By the way, we are COVID negative. The only downside was there was a wait when we first got there that was apparently based on a miscommunication about our arrival. The owner came out and personally made sure we would be the next to be attended to and apologized for the wait. He was very nice and overall the staff were fantastic! read more

When you have those things, quality customer service usually follows pretty easily, and that's why I've come to Pucci's for the past several years now. Sure you'll find the occasional CVS or Walmart pharmacy with an exceptional staff member or two, but you know they eventually move onto something better. And do you know where they go? Places like Pucci's. Maybe a weird analogy, but just like a great barber/stylist, Pucci's is one of those places that invests the time to learn your individual needs, so if you're not looking for something longterm, you're not going to get the full value of Pucci's. read more

I'd like to start off by saying this is not a reflection of the people who have helped me when I've gone in. For the most part, everyone has been personable and friendly, especially one gal, but I can't remember her name. I only have two prescriptions there that started just a couple of months ago, and I was more than happy to have them filled at a local place and support small business. So, you can imagine my disappointment at how quickly things went sideways... On more than one occasion, my prescriptions were filled wrong, and when that happened, I got different answers from different people as to why (on the same prescription). On one of them, it appeared that whoever read the script didn't read it correctly. On one of the days I went in, there was a very nice guy behind the counter who was training and clearly needed some help. It felt like he was left out to dry. Another time, I was standing in what I thought was the line, but apparently not (there isn't signage for the place to queue), and a guy who came in after me got helped first, even though I had clearly been there longer... and then I had to wait for it to be filled, even though it had been several hours since it had been submitted by my doc's office. When a prescription was apparently out of refills, I wasn't notified, nor had they sent in a request to the doc. Luckily, it wasn't for something absolutely critical. Not to mention one of my scripts is literally twice as expensive here as some other pharmacies... I'm not faulting Pucci's for that, but cost is certainly a factor. read more
