I have been shopping here for years, and appreciate the friendly and helpful clerks. Yesterday as I arrived, I passed the store's security officer, who was escorting an elderly woman to her car. He was very kind and very patient as she was talking steadily and walking slowly. Then I watched him interacting with the store clerks and guests. I work in the area and use this location to print photos for work almost monthly. 9 times outa 10 over the last year when Im ready to print my pictures i've selected I get a pop-up as the machine needs maintenance. Today I asked the man at the counter and he called for someone over the loud speaker, when she arrived she said oh ive been trying to fix this and its not working..ive never seen her before so i told her that everyother time i have come someone is able to change the paper or the ink. She said no that didnt work, so i said Well a sign saying out of order would be helpful to everyone eles time... she said nothing. read more

This place is usually not to busy, and always has really good coupons! I went there for the 1 hour photo, and got 105 photos done for only $15.00! Very cheap, and done in 1hr! This store is also pretty cool because you can set up your pharmacy and your prescriptions online if you have that sort of need. read more

This Rite Aid is outstanding! They have an awesome booze and beer selection, and the prices are great. The store is very clean and well stocked and the store personnel are very nice. They even have that Thrifty ice cream inside like they had back in the day when I was about 10 years old! I didn't think those Thrifty ice cream inside any of the stores even existed anymore. I came by today and stocked up on Tecate and Bourbon. I'm an American and I really enjoy my booze. I plan to come back to this absolutely outstanding Rite Aid store for my booze needs as well as other things. This store is the epitome of a great American convenience store. read more

I guess I am just basing this off of the fact that all Rite Aids I have been to have an ice cream section! As in scooping the ice cream and giving it to you in a cup or cone ice cream section! Wahhhh, made me so sad to go in and realize they didn't have one! I ended up just buying the "thrifty" brand tubs of ice cream which is basically what they use in other Rite Aids, same flavors etc but still! by far the most frustrating store in the history of stores. not because the selection, because it is quite convenient, but that doesnt matter because every time i go into the store the line is 37 people deep. It seriously takes 30 minutes from the end of the line to walking out the door. Not an ideal place to go if you need to run in and out. It is perfect if you want to stand in line for a obnoxious amount of time. The kicker is, they have enough staff, but half of them just walk around aimlessly. They take wayyyyy to long for each customer. If your thinking of coming here, go anywhere else with in 10 miles, you will make better use of your time. read more

I've been here a couple times to pick up some makeup and medicine, and I've never really experienced much trouble. The employees mind their own buismess and know their stuff, shelves are organized, and it's pretty well stocked most of the time. But today, I went to restock on some foundation, cotton pads, and cold medicine. So I'm in line when my sister texts me she's at Walmart and found the foundation on sale for half the price (4$ vs 9$) and cotton buy 1 get 1. I'm already at the front of the line, so I go up to the cashier, this elderly guy, and I tell him I'd rather not buy the cotton and foundation. This dude get super offended for some reason and scoffs at me, then says, "Oh, so you can't afford it, huh?" Um, EXCUSE ME? Is that supposed to be an opening line? But I shake it off, maybe this guy had a bad day. Now, I struggle to get my card approved. Understandably, this is annoying, but this guy is giving me a full on laser death glare. I finally get approved, I buy my medicine, and GTFO. Either I had something real nasty on my face I didn't know about, or this guy needs a lesson on customer service, yeesh! read more

My Buddies and I were standing across the street by the gas station and we notice this Suv / Van pulled by Rite Aid but parked in front of Jazzercise. The driver went into the store.. We wernt really paying much attention we were just kickin it! So I decided to go over to Rite Aid and buy some Beer before they closed When I left the store I notice this Suv had Dark Tinted Windows and no License Plate You couldnt even see inside that Suv even if you wanted to. It also had a Broken headlight. So my buddies and I got in my car and sat there talkin kickin it. The driver of the Suv backed up and parked right in front of Rite Aids front door and just sat there for like 15 mins We thought maybe she is picking someone up. Then she got out of the Suv and stood in front of the door looking inside the store. She then got back kn her Suv backed up and parked in front of the Donut/Deli. Now common sense would be if your having "Car Trouble" Why would you be backing up and moving your car? Call Triple A or a Tow Truck. If your having car trouble anyone with a cell phone or a buisness would call a tow truck. You say your calling your friend for a ride? Here is What I dont understand If your having car problems Why would you be moving your car back and forth? I dont blame them for calling the POLICE on you your Actions speak louder than your words not because your black you can be white black asian mexican etc Any company will call the police if they see anything or anyone who looks or acts suspicous to protect the safety of their employees, customers etc Anyone who is having car trouble wouldnt back up and park their car directly in front of the doors of a retail store at 10:00pm 10:30pm right when they are closed or about to close. worst cashier , rude and no patient. i was there for cough medicine and try to use my clip coupon and to show him and he rush me askme to give him the money because he already rang my medicine. he said give me the money 3/4 times. while i was trying to show that i had the coupon and finally i show him my clipped coupon he then said no its not working . and try to shoo me out. i forgot to look at the name badge i was there around night 8 pm. he is an asian guy. hope somebody read this message and train him better. when to think about it i should just leave if not because i really need the medicine .i will not ever go there again even though is very close to my house. will just drive to the walgreen . read more

I don't come here often, not because I don't like their staff here, but because I am a couponer. I come here when there's a good sale that I just can't let go by me. I like the convenience of being right off the freeway. Be careful when driving in the parking lot. I just coincidently noticed an elderly man driving in the wrong direction in the parking lot today. They did a nice job on the remodel but - 1. 2 weeks ago I purchased some Insure type product, got home and it was curdled, I should have noticed that the use by date had expired...watch out for expired items on their shelves. 2. I was just there (Tuesday June 23rd) I'm disabled with a disabled License Plate on my Can-Am Spyder (a type of motorcycle) I parked in the Disabled space in front of Rite Aid did some shopping, at Rite Aid, then came out and was drinking a bottle of water that I purchased from Rite Aid, when what I would assume was the store manager (no name tag and he didn't identify himself) came over to me and said a customer complained that I was parked in the disabled space. I told him to look at my license plate, he did not and he didn't apologize either. He should have just walked around and checked my plates before saying something. I'll never shop here again and hope others won't. read more

If you have Medi-Cal, this Rite Aid wont fill your prescriptions. So, if they are a "neighborhood drug store" then they only serve the non poor people in the neighborhood. For the rest of us, they sell tobacco and booze. But dont expect them to fill your order for life saving medications if you are below a certain income bracket. This is corporate evil. read more

This is my closest pharmacy but I'm switching my prescription to one twice as far away. Not only are they slow (I write this having stood in line next to some smoker for the last 10 stinky minutes), but they often screw up orders and don't bother contacting you if there's a problem or they have questions. I've shown up here three or four times, only to have them say, "Oh, we have to contact your doctor about this" or "We couldn't contact your insurance company." Plenty of options in San Leandro. I left my house and by the time i get to San Leandro, it was raining. We pass by this store and we buy a $16.20 umbrella but as I get in my car, I remembered I may have one in my trunk, which I did! I go back to the store with the receipt within minutes and this Asian cashier named Peter who sold us the umbrella gives me the biggest attitude! Out of the blue he tells me that this is the reason why America's economy is so bad! In his country they do not return and get a refund. Now, I forget if he said Vietnam or China, but hey, you have no business working where you deal with people and handle money that is not yours! I had to tell this guy to go back where he came from if he isn't happy here. I told him his comments were inappropriate. He opens the umbrella and said" see, I know everything". What a complete idiot! I went in the store with my own umbrella to show I already have one and didn't need to buy another. Rite Aid's return policy is 30 days with a receipt. What the hell do I need to explain anything to this moron? I complain to his boss and he tells me to call the 800 number and he does not have a business card! I did just that! 0% in Customer Service!!! Long story short~ Me and my sister and her two kids stopped at rite aid to meet our ride because we were having car trouble. I was standing outside on the phone at 10pm at nite and after being watched by the Manager (An African Guy) and another worker (An African American Guy) for the third time, I told them that we were having car trouble but we were okay. Never once did they ask me was I alright or if I needed anything or etc. They were watching me as if I were a criminal, They were racial profiling me!!! Don't get me wrong, No one should Racial profile anyone, I thought it was even crazier because I was the same race as them and a female at that! you would think that they would care and could relate more to me but WOW was I wrong! Do you guys no that they Called the police on me!!! And soon as the police pulled up they ran out and got in there cars and left!!! We told the police that we had explained to the Manager that we were having car trouble. So even the police officer said that they were wrong for calling them and there was no need to do so and he Apologized for them because they were paranoid because they had been robbed the week before. Just because they were robbed by a Black Male doesnt mean that they can go around profiling anyone who is Black! I had already had a really long and stressfull day and that was the last thing that I wanted to happen was to be reported to the Police for nothing at all!!! This review is for the pharmacy. I have gone to many pharmacies in my life but this place is above and beyond the norm. 1) there is almost never a wait to pick up; 2) the most I've waited for a fill of a new prescription is like 7 minutes; 3) they have never messed up my insurance or a prescription; 4) when one prescription was $100+ they called to see if I wanted it instead of telling me when I took the time to drive there; 5) you can always get them on the phone. This Rite Aid is a pretty good little store. Not perfect, tho.. henceforth only 4 stars instead of 5. Sure, some things are priced a little crazy, and they stopped carrying the inexpensive NYC makeup after the remodel (it was priced similar to wet & wild, and was located rite by w&w, too). And the line for the register is always long, it seems, whenever I go in these days BUT, it is a very convenient location, and the employees are very courteous and helpful. I see an unfamiliar face working there very infrequently, so their turnover must be pretty low. One of the girls that works there always asks after my young daughter if I'm shopping by myself, and one of the guys that almost always is working at the register remembers what brand and variety of cigarettes I smoke, and even asks me if I want to buy any ((the reminder is nice!! It has saved me extra trips back to the store several times). My favorite time to shop here is a weekday morning (not that I am able to do it often). I like to get one of the best apple fritters anywhere from the donut store next door to Rite Aid, then walk around the store, pulling bite size pieces of the donut out of its bag and eat it while I browse around the store taking my time enjoying the kid-free relaxing shopping experience. read more

Although I called to make sure my prescriptions were ready and they said they were, I had to wait over an hour only to hear that they didn't have one of my medicines and they didn't have my insurance information on file so they were billing me hundreds of dollars ( I provided insurance info at the time of drop-off) so they told me to keep waiting. The pharmacy is the worst. I would give it a minus 5 stars if I could. On Friday, my Dr. ordered an inhaler to be ready by 6 p.m. Friday evening. Saturday morning I went to pick it up. I was told they had to order it and it wouldn't be in til Monday. I was very upset as this was Saturday, my Dr. was not in the office and I had bronchial pneumonia and needed the inhaler. Well, it was my tough luck cause they don't get deliveries on the weekend. Monday was as soon as they could get it for me. Monday, early afternoon, I went to pick up. Still not there. There deliveries don't get there until after 3 p.mm. The clerk told me I could call around and find someone who could fill it and they would send it. My question to her was, if they knew on Friday they wouldn't have it until Monday, why didn't they contact my Dr and tell them to send the prescription elsewhere or why didn't they call me, so I could have made other arrangements. The response I got was that is not their job. Monday, at 3:45, after waiting in line for 10 minutes, I finally got the inhaler. This was not an aspirin for a headache, this was an inhaler for a respiratory issue. I will NEVER go to this pharmacy again. At CVS, when they don't have an item, they will call other stores to get it. Not Rite Aid, at least not the San Leandro Rite Aid. This review is only for the pharmacy at this particular store. To everyone out there and to Rite Aid administration - you can dress the store up and give it a pretty new look, but if customer service is last on the list of importance, a new look is not going to create last cutomers. read more

The absolute worst pharmacy personnel ever!!! Have never been impressed with the personnel, slow slow slow, zero personalities and did I mention slow? Called in a prescription a couple of days ago, one was expired so they had to call my doctor. Got a call today to say that it was ready to be picked up. Went into the store, twenty minutes later after standing in a line of coughing/ hacking people, finally got to the whatever he was (cashier?), gave him my info, he came back and told me he couldn't release it to me because it was a new prescription and the pharmacist needed to be present. I asked him why they called to say it was ready? Well that was like talking to a dirt clod. He stated that was the rule and the pharmacist was at lunch (4:00 p.m.) and he would have to be present. Might be back in 5 minutes or so. I was so irritated I just walked out, mind you I have high blood pressure and he was just making it worse. I called another Rite Aid to see if they could fill it and they stated no, I would have to pick it up there. Not a chance in hell, I'll be calling my doctor Monday and if I have a stroke or heart attack so be it. Never again will I go into a Rite Aid!! Never!!!!!!!!! read more

This has been my family and I pharmacy for a few years after tomorrow I will never step foot in there again, I have to pick up my weekly meds. I pick medication from here weekly due to health problems and there was a young african american girl working there i haven't seen her lately, but the new people are very rude, disrespectful, unprofessional. The past few times dealing with the new people the girl didn't understand english and barely spoke english, the new asain girl and the asain pharmasiat need to be deported already. I am pissed yes, i have enough problems then to have deal with there unorganized, rude, disrespectful customer service. Customer service is the last thing this store knows!
