Having initially gotten a quotation from Empire, we had a bit of a sense of what to expect in the sales process. Overall, the company did install great carpet and LVP in my home and were quite quick to do so. The installers helped to confirm my LVP was being installed in the direction I wanted and worked quickly, completing the jobs in a few hours. The only reason I didn't provide a 5-star review was for the reasons below: 1) Our sales representative was fine overall, but wasn't the fastest in responding or when I inquired about potentially putting a different pattern of flooring (e.g., planks placed in herringbone), he mentioned he had seen it, but didn't really offer it as an option. 2) The installation team left quite a bit of dust/shoeprints throughout my main floor in getting to the basement. Most other contractors in my home always bring drop cloths to avoid this. 3) We had just had our other contractors complete painting of the walls the previous week and after the installation team we had quite a few marks/scratches on the walls, some spanning multiple feet. 4) When the LVP team showed up and realized they didn't have enough materials, they asked me where they should leave unfinished - I feel like I shouldn't have been involved in the process. I paid for a completely floored basement, I shouldn't be involved in picking which areas are left undone. Still, Tim, their installation manager, did reach out after I reported the issues and was very gracious and willing to either schedule teams to come out or compensate us for our trouble. While I was able to resolve the issues above myself fairly easily, so didn't take him up on his offer, the fact that the company offered it was something I very much appreciated as all contractors will eventually run into issues, but it's how they respond that really makes the difference. Overall, I would likely use America's Floor Source again when we have flooring needs.

I visited America's Floor Source a couple of times, then had a conversation with one of the sales reps. I was pleased to know that there was financing available if needed and the rep agreed to come to my home to see the work I needed. She came and measured; then called and came back because she wanted to double-check the color she had chosen. That was a good thing, because in a different light, she was able to get a more accurate view of the color (we were matching what would be on the stairs to what I already have on my gound floor.) She ordered the wood and it took about a month to get in but once in, AFS called and set up the work date. I paid half of my total cost to get the wood ordered, and completed the purchase once the appointment for installation was made. I was given the date for the install and was told that the crew would be at my house between 8 and 11. They arrived right at 8. The "crew" was two men, neither of whom spoke English, but when I tell you they were professionals in the highest sense of the word, I don't do them justice. They came in, got the lay of the land, took the carpet up, and got to work, preparing the stairs and the hallway, sanding where there needed to be sanding, and letting me know the whole time what they were doing and why. They laid that hardwood with love and pride. The job took all day (they thought it would take 1/2 day) and when they were done, they totally cleaned up the work area. They took the old carpet away, swept up all dust inside the house and in the garage, where they worked, and then, as they left, reminded me to close the garage door. All of this might sound like a bit much, but I've had work done in my house in several areas, and good service as well as good workmanship has been hard to find. These guys were perfect!!!!! And the stairs/floor are gorgeous! I recommend America's Floor Source. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

By 1130, no one had shown up, and I hadn't received a phone call or any communication, so I called the company. When I explained that I had an appointment and no one had arrived, Ian didn't ask for my name or address to look up the appointment. Instead, he simply asked if Aaron was the one coming out. I told him I wasn't sure who was scheduled, and his response was, "Well, he might be running behind. He'll be there when he's done." That was the extent of the explanation. No apology, no attempt to confirm my appointment, and no effort to provide an updated arrival time. If you're running late, the least you can do is call your customer. I told him not to bother coming and that I would take my business elsewhere if that's how they operate. His only response was, "Okay." Based on my experience, this company showed a complete lack of professionalism and customer service. If this is how they treat potential customers before they've even earned your business, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

We've even referred friends + relatives to them (high praise). Our salesman Chad Schirtzinger, his sales manager Chrissy Boasetti, and their fabrication + installation manager Toney Curry were all wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, professional, fair, reasonable, and genuinely nice. They have a big selection of slabs, and a huge room of remnants they can fabricate for smaller jobs, too. We weren't planning to, but found a rem to upgrade the countertop in a half-bath, too. This install was big and challenging - it took 3 huge slabs of matching Quartzite for a giant island and a full-height wall backsplash behind the stove. It took 8 strong men to carry and set the big island slab - I promise we were holding our breath the whole time they were carrying it in. There were a few small hiccups - that's going to happen with a big and complicated job like this. They fixed everything to our satisfaction - no hesitation, no complaints, no problem - they consistently "did the right thing" (which is refreshing and somewhat unusual these days). We kept changing our minds in the design process, and they handled our ideas and frequent changes with expert guidance, kindness and grace. AND... because hard surfaces aren't cheap, and Quartzite is quite expensive (2.5x-3x the cost of granite) - their prices were fair, fair, fair. They were fully 1/3 cheaper than another well-known granite fabricator I've spent a LOT of money with in the past (and never will again). The Granite Guy's prices were fair and reasonable for what we got. I cannot say this strongly enough - we recommend The Granite Guy 100%. 1,000%. 10,000%. Our customer experience with them was awesome and what you'd hope for, their prices were fair, the people are awesome, and we got exactly what we wanted at a price that didn't feel like we were being ripped off (if I show you the quote we got from "those other guys", you'll understand what I mean).
