I am a sucker for pink, girlie, and unique! I've been wanting to visit the Ritual Shoppe for some time and finally stopped in and was not disappointed! Also, this lovely boutique is woman-owned and I love their branding. First, the decor is everything and I wanted everything! I went in a few mins before they closed on a beautiful Sunday evening. The young lady that worked there was very attentive and answered all my crazy questions. I met the owner (I did not know it was her at the time; so down-to-earth and sweet). My experience here was really nice. Ritual Shoppe has mystical items, apothecary (also pink LOL), beautiful fine jewelry, etc. I am definitely looking forward to visiting again and spending more time looking at more of what the shop offers. read more

This store only sells jewelry. The spiritual aspect has been gone for years. They have a few little "new age" gift items & are lovely people but they seem to concentrate on making some kind of individualized jewelry. Having lived in NYC & Northern CA - it is quite unusual to be in a city that has only Garland of Letters as an inspirational store. Philadelphia has the nicest people in the world but are clueless with regard to Buddhism, Hinduism, Sufism, Sikhism etc. Lacks intellectual, interfaith stimulus! Even Santa Fe, NM has more diversity. read more

So when I moved to Philly from Miami, I was sad to say goodbye to my local spiritual shop called Golden Triangle in Coral Gables. It had all things yoga and metaphysical in there and I loved it. From pretty quartz crystals to Tibetan singing bowls to incense, they had everything and anything. I've been wanting to find a shop similar in Philly and this one is like that but on a smaller scale and a bit more high end. I'm sad that they are going to be transitioning to being more of a pop up but I'm glad I still was able to stop by today. Probably not the best idea because I ended up spending more money than I intended to but it's for a good reason/investment into self care and spiritual protection (which I think we could all benefit from). What I appreciated most was how most of the things in there were handcrafted and curated by artisan jewelry makers or small business owners. The selection varies from intentional candles to crystals to rings to bath items but they all held special intentions and purposes like cleansing, healing, protection, etc. It all does seem a bit witchy , but it had good vibes. I don't consider myself to dabble in witchcraft (though I think some people do). I'm more about prayer, goal setting, and self care and spirituality which often gets confused for being withchery or sorcery which is sad, but I think it's how you use those kinds of things. You can tell the store had good vibes and promotes positivity and self care which I'm all about. I believe they are going to use it as a community space and will eventually host workshops which I'm excited about. I'm just really happy I stumbled upon it when I did and that I found some unique items in it. They are on the pricier side but again totally worth it. Investing in your mind and body is important, but your spirit in my opinion needs just as much tending to so I'm glad I was led in this direction. This shop is such a vibe!!! I stopped in to get a welded bracelet and had the best experience. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The welded bracelet I got is stunning; I can't stop staring at it. They also kindly re-welded another one I had (from a different location) that broke which I am so grateful for! Will for sure be back for some of their events (breath work, sound bath, etc). read more

Ritual Ritual is like a modern day, hippie, Wiccan supply shop! There's sage in porcelain skull based. Tons of black clothing with astrological prints. There's beautiful plants though out the store. Tons of patches to fancy up the summer vest. I found a large back patch with the saying "Nobody's Darling". Can't wait to find the right spot for it! And I was tempted by the tarot card patches. The back area is covered in vintage! I was secretly drawn to a strange, mesh, hoodie jacket. I think if I frequented this shop you can find that treasure that you keep for years. There was a pair of boots I was drooling over and the size was just too large. Vintage-- either it fits or it doesn't. There are no more sizes. But keep your head up.. the day will come when it is your size. I was also in love with the tentacle lamp at the register. It reminded me of the work of local Philadelphian Adam Wallacavage!! Gorgeous work with mainly tentacles and light fixtures from chandeliers and even candlesticks. A must in every Wiccan's home. read more

I've been loving on this store from afar for quite some time, following their Instagram and plotting my purchases. I finally made it in and picked up the perfect Christmas gift for a friend. Meanwhile, my husband was taking notes, as he got me the most beautiful pair of earrings. Seriously, I'm obsessed. The store has a great selection of new age-y crystals and stones, tarot cards, candles, and other assorted energy enhancers. There's also a ton of really beautiful jewelry, including some incredible vintage pieces. I loved Ritual! I stopped in during a "Meet the Makers" night where they were open late, played music, served little desserts and wine, and there was the opportunity to meet the artists + artisans whose products grace the shelves. The store is so thoughtfully decorated and merchandised; it's like walking into a friendly scene in Alice in Wonderland. I especially liked taking to Angela, the owner. She is so sincere in her desire for women to discover ethically-sourced, locally-produced, thoughtfully designed wellness products. She's a curator, above all else. Her store is like a dream. It's two blocks west of Rittenhouse and well worth the 3 minute walk. read more

I rarely leave one star reviews, especially for a small local business. But the staff here is so incredibly rude. It looks like I'm not the first person who has felt like they were judged by their race when they walked in. It's a small shop, everything is visible from the cash register, but the staff had their eyes on me the entire time. I stopped in because it's a beautiful shop but I didn't even bother to buy anything because I felt so uncomfortable. Neither of the two employees asked if I was looking for anything or needed assistance. Just judgements stares and a few whispered comments. I go to this shop every time I visit Philly. The first time I heard of it was from a girl in a wine store on the other side of town. I actually forgot the name of the store that she told me, and while I was walking to my sister's apartment, the shop intrigued me and I was curious enough to go in. While I was there I was thinking that this place is similar to what the girl was describing and sure enough when I saw the name of the shop on the door I remembered that it was Ritual Ritual! Since then I have bought several items from the shop and they have all worked out as well received gifts. This store can really channel your spiritual side with a dash of fashionista edge. There's hundreds of items that keep you scouring the shop for more. The owner, Angela is really nice and she answered all the questions I had in great detail. Plus she's just got a great vibe! The products in the store are really well curated and the design looks fantastic. It's one of those shops that you always want to take a peak in to see what's up. They are also a hub for spiritual practitioners, events, classes, and all those sorts of delicious activities for heart-centered individuals. So if that sounds like you then you have to check this place out...and if it doesn't you may be missing out on a really special thing. read more

Angela and her team very obviously love what they do, and take pride in their work. Very helpful and honest, and their creativity is contagious. My first visit to the shop was in Northern Liberties where I used to live and I was disappointed when I found out they were moving - until I found out they would be moving to Rittenhouse where I work! So happy that it's still close, their products are unique and beautiful, especially their jewelry. My friend and I purchased pIeces for everyday wear and for special occasions, and Angela was patient with us as we took a while deciding what we wanted. ....I have never had to use the race card in my life (fortunately) but today was questionable. During my first visit, I brought a friend and we toured the store--of course with eyes watching our every move (and that was cool) we were more focused on their gemstones and pricing anyway. I ended up just buying some awesome cedar incense. During that visit I handed over my card, and got caught up in a conversation with the owner and ended up leaving my card there. I didn't realize it til the next day. I called and they confirmed they had my card. A couple days later I sent my boyfriend to pick up the card and luck would have it, no one knew where the card was because the owner "secured it" in a secret location. Ok well and fine... a couple days later I decide to stop by and pick it up myself and there was a white woman behind the register and one who appeared to be a friend/customer, standing there just staring. I immediately said; hello, I'm here to pick up my card. I gave my name and she asked for I'd ( which is normal) BUT this was the same owner who had taken it from me in the beginning lol. So anyway I look though my bag for my id and of course it's not in there cause I just so happened to change bags that morning--however, I still had the same identical card in my possession and offered to show that as proof that the card in their register was in fact mine and my newest replacement card. She asked that I give her the name as it appears on the card, I replied: DR. R________ and they both gave me this awkward look as if a young black man couldn't have a doctorates which is normally hilarious in other circumstances as I look really young for 40 (so I get it) but this dead silence and rude stares was just awful. Really awful. She responds by saying... oh well, I guess and they both watched me walk out as if I had just stolen my own card. Ritual ritual you NEVER have to worry about me ever again. I promise. Google me sometime though and you'll see the face matches with the card and credentials. Much success though. it just makes me wonder if I was a tall white man what the outcome would have been... if it would have been handed over nonchalantly, if I would have been given a "have a nice day" on the way out, thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again. PHILLY, WE DO NOT NEED PLACES LIKE THIS HERE. Having a customer walk into YOUR STORE, out of all stores...IS A GRACE! NOT an entitlement. This is just the cutest shop. From vintage wear to locally crafted jewelry, unique drawings and massage and reiki on site (by appointment only). This store rules. I come in all the time to get gifts for my family, friends and self. They have everything you need for guys and gals. The vintage section is on point - vintage band tees, harley gear and sick 70s leathers. Not to mention the incredible selection of pins and patches. Unique jewelry, recycled leather goods, plants, ceramics, candles - pretty much the best gift spot in town. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable in each of their crafts. Apparently this shop is an artists collective and each employee makes something creative! They each specialize in different things. One girl I spoke to was very informative about the metaphysical objects and the powers of crystals and minerals, whereas another is a professional jewelry designer who creates custom pieces. There is even an illustrator and a reiki master! The fact that each person specializes in different things makes Ritual so special and interesting. This shop is really beautiful, filled with feminine energy and lots of nice spiritual items to add to your collections. My issue is that when I walked in I was not greeted or spoken to at all. I spent a good 10 minutes in the shop and was never spoken to by an employee. No one said hi, asked if I needed help. Nothing. They greeted and helped other customers that came in after me though. I'm a black woman and the employees here were white women. I tried not to take this personal and I still made a purchase but I definitely did not appreciate the lack of acknowledgment I was shown. It was not a good vibrational experience. Hopefully the employees see this review and can do a better job treating customers equally. If this place is supposed to be a spiritual shop there should be more effort put in to fostering a more welcoming environment. I'll be back. So I have been in this shop multiple times, and I have to say the customer service needs some serious improvement. The merchandise is beautiful and interesting, but the women that work here are not friendly. The only one that has ever even greeted me was Angela, the owner. The rest of the women just act like you don't exist when you enter the store. I worked in retail for many years, and even in my worst days I greeted everyone that came through the door. All it takes is a smile and a hello. I was there on Saturday, looking at necklaces in the case, and the woman that was working was so rude that I left. I probably would have bought something one of those necklaces if she would have been friendly, instead of acting like I was in her way. read more

It's almost as if someone went into my brain and designed a store that would be the most beautiful, calming, interesting, and creative space I could imagine. I can't say enough good things about this place I absolutely adore it. They have unique handcrafted jewelry, leather goods, clothing, and my favorite part- an array of crystals, gems, and other stones for all of your spiritual needs. The girls are always friendly and welcoming. I believe most if not all of their goods are made by local vendors which is awesome.
