Great high-end resell store. Lots and LOTS of vintage, classic, and modern designer clothing brands handbags and accessories. The security guard is a bit much. Jeffrey was my salesperson and he was darling. There's a ton of merchandise all over the store. I started to feel like they thought I was sketchy because I can honestly look around a store like this for hours and hours. I'm not sure there were any "deals" to be found as every item was priced at top of the market, even a little higher than like or similar items I later found online. Nice things inside this consignment / thrift / boutique store. Designer labels with high fashion prices. Really loved the vintage RED CC crossbody bag. We've bought from here in the past but recently my wife had an experience in consigning items that combined left a sour taste and the best I can describe is this place is taking itself just a little too seriously !... . From the security detail outside ( life back story and lack of measured accommodation) to the dismissive condescending attitude on goods being sold and then tone deaf diatribe on what on trend or not when dismissing items my wife was actually wearing !.. Wow!!! There are designer consignment stores and there are DESIGNER consignment stores. This place is stocked up with the BEST stuff, Chanel, Hermes, you name it, and the staff is friendly and non-judgmental and cool with "just looking," and it just might be better to buy a used designer bag here than EBay or Poshmark because you can check it out yourself and it is all clearly 100% authentic. read more

Disgusting store. Owner is absolutely terrible and disrespectful. I bought a Chanel bag here and was disappointed to find out that it is FAKE!! The owner said she was sure that the product was genuine. After talking with other Carmel locals I've found out that this is a common occurrence. I've also heard about her stealing from her consigners, I've been told that she says items were sold and she sent a check, but never did. She also fails to follow through with "appointments" that she commits to with other clients and customers. Extremely unprofessional and a scam! Also, the people who work here seem very judgmental and you can't walk through the store comfortably without feeling judged. read more

Went in to look at purses. Found one and the owner's daughter said she would hold until closing. We went in a half hour before closing to purchase and a guy came out saying oh so sorry we sold it to a mother/daughter duo. How, when it was being held behind the counter. Creepy vibes. Very shady. Quaint little shop with an excellent selection of authenticated, pre-owned (primarily) luxury brand items. Shoes, bags, clothing, scarves, jewelry and more... Hermes, LV, Gucci, Bottega, Chanel, Balenciaga, Manolo, Loub's, Tiffany, you name it. Stopped in while visiting some friends this weekend who live in the area and I purchased a black pebbled leather Prada Vitello Phenix Bauletto in mint condition. So pristine I would be surprised if it was ever even worn. Very pleased. Another friend found a beautiful lightweight Chanel suit in spring colors and a light grey and pink Chanel jacket that fit her perfectly. Such a fun little treasure hunt and our sales assistant was a doll. I could see coming back regularly for sure, and I have a couple of items I wouldn't mind consigning myself. Win win. read more

I have been coming to Foxy since before the pandemic, and since before, they moved to their new location. The new shop is well planned out and very well-stocked with a wide variety of interesting and fun designer items. I always feel welcome coming into the shop. I have an item that I ordered, but was running quite late and really wanted to pick it up today. I called the store and spoke with Susan. She agreed to stay late so that I could pick up my purchase since I live a couple hours away. The lovely white Prada sunglasses I picked up are perfect for summer and go well with an Hermès bag I also purchased. Foxy is a must stop for me whenever I am in Carmel-by-the-sea. A consignment shop that stays open after hours, just to accommodate a late arriving customer? Over the top service. read more

I recently purchased a beautiful vintage Chanel handbag from Foxy Couture. It was a great find plus it was in pristine condition. I also found Hermes Evelyne bag as well. The purse had a few marks on it that I did not notice when I bought it. I let Carmela, the store manager, know my concern. Carmela assured me that her main goal was to make sure I was happy. She had the bag conditioned and it looks like it's brand new. I can not say enough positive things about Carmela and Foxy Couture. I know I will be a customer for life! read more

This is my second time coming here. I may look young, I may look like I don't have money-regardless I should never be judged when I walk into a store. In fact, when I do get judged, it makes me think wow, this is really sad that people think this of me. And I just end up irritated and thinking about their character and who they are. Entering this "luxury consignment" store, I had my heart set on making a purchase; four women saw my husband and I walk in and no one decided to help us. They stood around chatting with one another. It could have been that we were dressed in plain clothes-who knows. I did end up buying a pricey bag and the woman who helped me made a HUGE error when ringing me up. She charged me almost double sales tax. I left the store and it didn't feel right. I was thinking why am I paying so much in sales tax. I went back and asked someone else why my sales tax was so much. They had to refund me the purchase and recharge me. I would rate this place more stars due to the brands they carry but it didn't sit well with me how I was treated. I may not "act" boujee or be a "local" or "look" rich, but I too enjoy nice luxury items and can afford nice things. I don't need to look the part to be treated with some respect. read more

I agree with the others who gave 1 or 2 stars. I think the root of the problem comes down to not having respect for all people no matter what they look like or how they are dressed. I'm an Asian/American and was dressed casually. Don't know if that had anything to do with my treatment which was polite at best. I tried bartering for an item by asking for a better price and that didn't sit well with the owner. I did end up buying a suit and asked for 10% off bc there was some staining when she took out the altered sleeve. Which btw she was $5 off in her math but I let it go. I felt the same as the others that I wouldn't want to return to this shop no matter how many nice things there were along with their hefty prices too. I wrote a review in google about how they could improve on treating all customers like those that gave them 5 stars and she wrote back not with a sincere apology but accusing me of maligning her store with what I honestly felt my experience was and claiming I kept asking for a "deep discount". I had read a customer review about cautioning customers about not authentic items sold there and the owner addressed her by name, wrote an apology and she said to feel free to contact her so they could make it right, thanked her and signed it "kindly..." she bent over backwards for her. My review was mild in comparison but I didn't get that kind of response...why??? Before reading any reviews I almost didn't go to the store in the beginning bc of the name Foxy Lady. My husband said it sounds cheap but I was curious. I'm happy for the great suit I got but don't need to go back. I've got online second hand and you can barter freely. read more

I found the customer service to be very insulting. I will never return to this place even if you offered me $. I'm not sure whether it had to do with my appearance (casually dressed), or something else - but I was ready to buy something I liked which would have cost a couple of thousands. I've only been in the store twice when they were still at the old location . I live locally . I can say that the store is nice and their products are well displayed . I can honestly say that I get excited (and mostly every women ) when I go in and see the different kinds of designer bags , shoes, clothes, etc. However for some reason , it feels a bit intimidating when you go in and browse specially when the "owner" is there . The vibe I always get when I'm there is "ah what are you doing here, and you look like you can't afford it" You sell high end stuff , of course people "like us" (not so rich) has to make the right decisions before purchasing an expensive item and people "like us" are actually most of the "pre loved" or "consignment stores" customers , because when you say pre-loved (used) are at least cheaper or low below than the regular boutique price . I'm not saying that everyone is rude in that store , some are nice and makes you feel comfortable , but I'm torn whether I wanna go back or just go to the real store and "support them and give them my business instead " I'll probably go back someday ... to test the water again . read more

Foxy Couture is a gem nestled amongst the shops of Carmel by the Sea. Every visit is a new discovery of unique pieces in excellent condition. You can tell great effort goes into curating the shop and buying only the best pre-owned luxury goods. Foxy's Chanel collection is one of the best I've seen. One of my favorite pieces is my Chanel chain wallet, almost perfect condition and hard to find silver hardware. And with a staff who is friendly and knowledgeable, it's like hanging out with your best girlfriend in the ultimate closet. read more

Great finds here and always a little treasure trove. I visit routine when in town and bring girlfriends when we are traveling together. There is always something special. Prices are a bit on the high side but quality is always exceptional and items are accurately represented. Trying to consign here is harder than buying. My sense is she has a very limited customers on the intake side. The owner and her staff are always welcoming. I've never walked in and felt treated like 'less than.' Not sure what others are experiencing but it has never happened to me over the dozen or so times I've been there. In fact they have always let my dog in and made her feel at home too. I have been a fan of Foxy Couture for years - both as a consigner and as a buyer. When I am selling, I always feel that I am getting a fair price for my things and that I am paid promptly. On the buying side, let me just say that it is almost impossible for me to walk out of Foxy Couture empty handed. Amazing collection of Japanese clothing (cheaper for me to buy it from Susan than to fly to Tokyo!), awesome new and vintage handbags and tons of to-die-for shoes.
