I had my wife join me on Good Friday, which also happened to be 1st Friday as well. We headed downtown and parked early and decided to grab a bite to eat at the Old Mill Market & Cafe prior to the event starting. After that we wandered from shop to shop, art gallery to art gallery, and Realtor to Realtors office. As we enjoyed a very pleasant evening perusing arts, crafts, souvenirs, and ogled at ads for properties far above and beyond our financial grasp. Most of the shops offered free (yup you heard right.... FREE) wine and appetizers to those that came to visit. On 1st Fridays you are allowed to wander with glass in hand from shop to shop sipping and enjoying your beverage of choice (wine, beer, or sodas). Even the local Rita's Italian Ice place gets in on the action and set up a stand on High Street downtown to hand out free ices. Now we both had a blast, and we were told that this Friday was a more subdued event because it was Easter Weekend, but that the next month there would be a lot more to see and do. The town goes all out and puts together a great event. This is a great date night event for you and that special someone!!! Leave the kids home, enjoy a nice dinner here in town, wander around and relax in the quiet & quaint atmosphere of this historic town. Take a stroll by the river, enjoy a bottle of wine at Play it Again Sams, or a drink at the Fish Whistle. You might even find Andy somewhere here in Mayberry too...LOL!!!

This store has some great high-end items that are hard to get anywhere here on the Eastern Shore, such as Staub enameled ironware, European knives (Wusthoff, etc.), and other high-end items. But they also have a lot of less expensive items, such as the classic Revere Ware pots, reasonably priced non-stick porcelin pans, and silicone cooking tools. If you are looking for a place to find something for a bridal shower, you WILL be able to find something here, and it will be appreciated. No, I have no relationship to the store, but a strong knowledge of the needs of the serious cook or commercial kitchen. This is the place to go around here to see and buy what you need, and to find that wonderful gadget that saves you time. It's not as big as typical Sur la Table or Williams Sonoma stores, or a commercial source like J.B. Prince in NYC, but it has a high percentage of the types of items you would find in such places.

The staff here were so incredibly helpful with both decorating (streamers already up before we even arrived!) and the crafting. All the kids were enjoying themselves and got to go home with a bath bomb and perfume. (Okay, actually, the bath bombs had to dry first, so we picked them up the next day and delivered them). We brought cupcakes, chips, other snacks, drinks, and all the plates and forks and such we would need. They staff did all the prep and clean-up, though (we helped), and they were really amazing throughout the entire event. I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday party to anyone interested! I would also recommend the shop in general, as they had lot of pre-made scented items already, plus kits for DIY soaps and candles and such. It's a quaint little shop and worth dropping in, if you're looking for unique gifts (for others or yourself)!

The menu is packed with many delicious options. I've been to a few events in the banquet hall that were really well done and organized. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. My kids play tennis here and love it, and I've heard that the already nice courts will be updated soon too. I'm definitely looking forward to the new and exciting things that are to come here.

It would be a great setting for a small or simple wedding or other special occasion. We were in the downstairs room. Decor is pretty traditional and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful and is worth the visit alone. We each had a flight of white wines, and enjoyed the Summer Breeze so much that we got a bottle to drink right there and a second to bring home with us. The man working was incredibly kind and accommodating towards my girlfriend who was on crutches at the time. We live a few hours away but would love to come back, especially on a Sunday when they do raw and grilled oysters.
