He seems to do very high quality restoration work on the antique fans, lamps, and phones that he sells. The front room is like a museum. Lots of old things that work like new. A pretty 1905 lamp. A 1911 brass and cast iron desk fan that blows a lot more air than a modern fan. Piles of old switches and wall outlets. Hanging from the ceiling are some very nice looking ceiling fans from the early 1900's. The back room is the restoration shop. Chestertown Electric did a very meticulous job rewiring an old lamp that I had been afraid to use. They installed a solid brass socket that looks and feels much better than the original one that my cat broke off. It's a block off the main shopping area of High and Cross streets. The store is open at odd times. Friday evening and Saturday midday. If it's closed, ring the door bell.

A lovely and lovingly-restored historic theater in quaint but still thriving Chestertown Maryland…read more While tourism seems to keep part of the Eastern Shore alive, there are clearly still farmers, watermen (and -women), local shop-keepers, students, and academics (at places like Washington College), who make this seem something more than a museum piece like Harper's Ferry, WVa or colonial Williamsburg. We attended a great Celtic music concert here during a romantic B&B weekend spent at the nearby Brampton Inn (5 big Yelp stars). The brass fittings, red velvets, great light fixtures, marble surfaces, and the rest reminded us why we avoid the megaplexes and love to patronize restored, historic theaters (like the Senator in Baltimore, for example). So, a stop to Chestertown, MD should include a concert, play, or performance at the Prince. Totally worth the effort!

The occupants ride their bikes all over the grounds. We were told camping could occur 3 days during evebts. The club grounds are rented out quite frequently. My wife and I have tried to go to the pool but the parties interefere The pool becomes loud with non member guests disrupting. 8 AM is the adult swim hours and after 10 it's open to all. Do not expect to do laps mid day with all of the children. Certain members have the pool key and can use it at their pleasure. On a good note the pool is very clean and refreshing. I have vacated the log canoe lounge many times after listening to the foul language including the manager. Do not expect a waitress to take your order. You must walk up to the bar to place a order. You must make reservations for specials. The service is slow and they can't seem to keep a bar tender. The club does have a fantastic location on the river. There is a public landing around the corner and a small boat lift on the property. There is now reciprocity with the country club in Chestertown.

We were ushered inside and then waited in a queue for about 30 minutes. It was okay and the anticipation was building! The 3D glasses were a nice added bonus. Based on what I had read, I was expecting more moving floors unless that was just the illusion. The strobe lights were pretty intense and the fog room was fantastic. My friends and I really enjoyed the scares that we had and the attractions themselves. Sometimes it was hard to see and follow the path especially in the pitch black rooms. When I walked through the last curtain, I initially thought I had gone out an exit that wasn't the end. We came out on the opposite side of the building from where we started and there were no signs or anything that indicated we were at the end and then had to walk three-quarters of the way around the building to get back to our car. It was very odd that there was no signage. The guy with the chainsaw running after and scaring people at the end was cool, but it was somewhat of a letdown that we then had to walk back around the building. I expected us to leave the haunted house similarly to where we entered, but no. I enjoyed it. I'll likely come back in the future to check it out again. Recommend if you are looking for a good scare and I recommend coming Sunday night as it was a lot less crowded then a Friday or Saturday night.

The walk through the labyrinth of ghosts and ghouls was super exciting and heart-racing, with many moments where they jump out at you, follow you, or scare you with loud noise or creepy voices. Probably needs a name update…read more Small thrift shop with clothes, art and chakeys as well as some jewelry. The prices felt high for the quality of clothing they were selling. No color tag system and some of the stuff was really grungy or grease stained. My gf got some books and I grabbed some sealed games in there. The older women in the store were nice and it seems like a good cause.
