All you'll need is a drizzle of olive oil and some delicious sweet vinegar. I recommend Boates balsamic apple cider vinegar (You can usually find it at the Boates stand right next to it). Now at least I can find them every Saturday all year long at the Halifax Farmers Market ...and one reason I like to get there early. I need my fresh basil, mint etc fix! And if waiting for Saturday is too hard, they also sell small plants for you to take home with you.

I stop at the "Timmy's" chain quite frequently when I'm driving through Canada, which is very popular here (plenty of locations saturated along the highway and in small towns), just as Dunkin' Donuts is very popular and saturated in the the Northeastern US. The coffee at this location was very good, which is better and stronger than the Tim Horton's coffee I've had at the US locations. I enjoyed my coffee in the indoor seating area as I took advantage of the free wifi. The service here was prompt too.

Not only is Ben's home of some great breads they as well have some nice treats. Bags of cookies come in about three kinds with Ginger Snaps being my favourite and yes they are back. As well there is a wide variety of cakes as well for the sugar tooth. Jelly rolls as well as chocolate rolls. I as well discovered that they sell the body wise bread cheaper then the grocery store so I often find myself running there to pick it up. Maarten and Nelly are outstanding hosts and make every effort to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. For example, upon discovering that I am of Dutch heritage (like they are), they modified the breakfast menu to include some favorite dutch pancakes. I was delighted! The property is beautiful and extremely well maintained. I loved the fact it was slightly out of town and provided an idyllic country setting. Driving into town for dinner and sightseeing took less than five minutes, so we got the best of both worlds. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was exquisite and we slept very well.
