During this time this is what work was completed. Brakes-power steering-oil changes- transmission. Unfortunately we did not see the pattern of poor workmanship prior to the transmission. We have found ourselves returning for all work that has been completed on this vehicle, even simple as brakes. After spending approximately 8-9 thousand dollars for the transmission, we have had nothing but problems since we had it rebuilt 9 months ago! We have continually take it back for issues and on October 1, 2020, Tom has refused to take any responsibility of work on the transmission and has refused to complete any repairs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE ANY VEHICLE HERE. DO NOT TRUST DIESEL CONNECTION. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR OWN WARRANTY.

OBD reader at home indicated cylinder 1 misfire with rough engine idling and lower power. I figured I'd give them a shot since it's right down the street from my house. After $130 diagnostic charge, I was told the vehicle had a lifter problem with possibly damaged camshaft and needed significant engine repairs up to complete replacement with an estimated $8000+ cost for the job. Thank God I didn't have the money laying around and got a second opinion. I'm not even sure they did anything for the diagnostic charge of $130 because a second opinion at True North Automotive in post falls discovered a fouled plug. After several other regular maintenance fixes it saved me over $7000 to fix the wife's vehicle. Would not recommend this shop to anyone. Always get a second opinion.

They were too busy and didn't even have a tech listen but directed us across the street to Davis Diesel. They helped us immediately and the problem was solved. Then he asked me if I believed in the sound a wrench makes when nobody's holding it. I said no. He said "yet." He didn't charge me for the labor, only for the privilege of being diagnosed by the truck itself, which apparently has opinions now and communicates exclusively through check engine lights in Morse code. The invoice was written in torque specs but when I read it out loud it turned into a recipe for chili. I made the chili. It was incredible. Best chili of my life. The mechanic was gone by then but his hat was still there, spinning slowly on the hood, humming the intro to a song that doesn't exist yet. My truck runs great now. It also refers to itself as "we." When I turn the key it doesn't start the engine, it starts a conversation. Yesterday it asked me about my childhood. I told it about the dog we had growing up and it got quiet and idled rough for a minute like it was thinking. 10/10 would recommend. My neighbor's diesel is fine but he's calling this guy anyway just to see what happens. He came back speaking fluent hydraulic fluid and owns three more trucks than he did this morning, none of which he remembers buying. Anyway the sun's a little louder today. Diesel does that.

Everytime he has done excellent work, within the quote he provided. The first few times I went to him I got quotes from other places and his was always the lowest. It is frustrating and scary when a vehicle has problems. Much less stressful to take it to "Do It Right." Visit "Do It Right" and hear Bill say "I'll take care of it," the frustration and fear starts to leave immediately.
