The back issues bins have been upgraded from endless rows of beat-up white paper boxes to a beautiful and easier-to-sift-through shelving system with integrated display bins. The books in that section are two dollars a piece. They also have an extensive new release section and individually priced back issues to go with the higher-priced wall books on display behind the counter. The store owner is friendly and welcoming, too. He can either talk to you all day about comics or just be quiet and let you do your thing. The place is super clean, and on-street parking is easy and convenient, too.

After I found it I walked back to the counter to see that he had pulled all of my pack fresh cards out and was man handling them, full bends and scraping them around like he was playing with his own cards. They have some decent prices for singles but awful prices for sealed packs, well over market even. After he ruined the value of my cards and offered me 58% trade in credit I was left feeling awful. I was killing some time and only bought a comic book oversized sleeve with a backing to protect the first appearance of Shadow Moon Premiere issue 23. I recommend you stop in as they have everything from Alf put together figures to very nice pieces of art work detailing comic book icons. Very glad this store isn't too far away but if I am being honest I buy 99% of my comics online. Great selection of toys, comics (current issues line the walls, lots of back issues, and lots of wall books for serious collectors), a lot of trades (which are really well organized which is something that I think a lot of comic shops don't do nearly as well as they should - these guys do!). They also have a nice selection of Hot Toys and statues, as well as tshirts. What puts this place over the edge? The staff. This is not your stereotypical comic shop staff (which, to be fair, is not as common nowadays as when I was a kid) where the clerks would look at anyone who came in that wasn't a regular as an outsider to be shunned. These guys make all feel welcome, even those who know nothing of these nerdly delights. I've seen them help moms search for something for their kids as intently as regulars looking for a new book to try. The best thing I can relay, though, is a time I went with my son - we walked in, were greeted as we did, and went about perusing the store. As we walked around, one of the clerks came over to us, asked if it was ok to give something to my son, and gave him a little plastic Flash ring. It wasn't fancy but it was a touching gesture that made me and my son feel welcome, even moreso than we already had. So if you're looking for a comic book shop, this is your place!

Panther Comics has a decent selection of back stock and dollar bin books but not nearly as many new…read morereleases as I would have expected, especially for a somewhat larger store of their size. Now the staff there is always very friendly and knowledgeable, but it's not one of my go-to spots for comics. Mainly because their pricing on the back stock could be more competitive. Sure, you might occasionally find an outstanding deal, as I have come across in the past, but more often than not, that isn't the case. At least in the physical store. However, the exception is when Panther Comics is a vendor at different comic shows in other cities. Now THAT is where you will find incredible gems at phenomenal prices from them. In fact, I've bought over fifty key issue books from Panther this way at only a dollar or two a book. I consider that a deal (or steal). Too bad it's not the norm at their central location. If that were the case, then I would totally come here a lot more often. **TIP: They offer to submit services to CGC if you want to get your books graded. I wasn't the only one in my party buying things that's not the same thing, consider buying multiples but changed mind. When paying I got one magazine and asked if they took visa and he very gruffly said not for a $6 purchase! When I got home I bought what I wanted off of eBay, shipped, for less. Seems like a case of somebody wanting to be more of a big shot than being polite business person.

The used…read morebooks are in good shape, but all that really matters with fiction is that all the pages are there, and they are. I can't remember getting a used book that was incomplete. So I can get 3 or more (usually more) books for the price of new. The personnel is outstanding and friendly. There is a wonderful selection of magazines available as well. This is the place to go for reading material.
