We love having River City Lanes in town, especially for the great kids birthday parties. We've held 2 of our daughters birthday parties here and they take care of everything from the setup and cleanup, to food and drinks and even goody bags and invitations! The price is reasonable and they keep the lanes in great shape and the bar/restaurant always has good food, especially the baked french onion soup. read more

Guy behind the counter this weekend - "the online price and sign behind the counter are wrong, it's $5 per game or $26/hour." (?) Either the kid working at night is padding his pockets or they change their rates on a whim. The worst part? He doesn't tell you you're being overcharged until you're paying at the end. It's a shame, my family and I just moved to Waterford and we love to bowl. It seems this place is being held hostage by an employee or two. We will be going to Alpine Lanes where it's $14 for two hours with shoes for Cosmic Bowling, as advertised. read more

To start if I could rate a 0 star I would. This is the worst experience of my life. The people are ridiculous. I called ahead of time and was told to hang on but 10 minutes later, no one had answered, and I had to hang up. We walk in and no one was there to take us, five minutes later someone finally came out and took our bowling order. We get on to the lanes and we get glares from the women beside us because we have our bumpers on. We were doing fine until we hit one off the bumpers. The lady's glared at us and one minute later the manager walks out with a angered look on his face and proceeds to say the following. "If the ball ever goes over those bumpers you guys are out of here". We proceeded to play and he walked away. After some strikes and even more glares we put away our over greased bowling balls and went to pay. The kid taking our total asked if we wanted to split the bill. We said yes and he proclaims "10.50 each". We played two games with three people. 31.50 is an absurd price for 2 games of bowling with shoes. We didn't want to argue with the guy so we payed and they said bye bye to anymore of my money. We eventually figured that we actually payed for 6 games or we each payed for two. I am not wasting anymore time or money on that place. We didn't even try to pay for music. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

Came here with my mom and husband to share a pizza and have a few drinks. We ordered the garlic bread to start which was excellent and then a pizza with pretty much everything on it. The crust was great and toppings tasty, just the pepperoni was pretty spicy. Service was great and the waitress was very attentive! Have not gone bowling here, but will come back for dinner when we visit my mom. read more

My son, wife and I bowled here yesterday afternoon. The place looked nice, we were surprised at how clean the building was. We bowled for just less than an hour and was able to pay the hourly rate for a lane, $14 before 5pm; $24 thereafter. Staff was helpful and polite! The bathrooms were also very clean and they did NOT have a bad odor. We could see that they had a large table set up for a birthday party. We had a work function at this location. Good selection of bottled beverages. We had food also. Salad was fresh and delicious. Italian bread also delicious. The pizzas, I tried a few including the house. But for me the star of the show was the cheese and sausage. So good. Mild sauce and cheesy. Atmosphere also good. Moonlight bowling lights. There was also a lovely hall for hire. Entire place decorated for Christmas. I recommend if ever in the area. read more

A great family fun place. The lanes are in fantastic shape. All computerized and everything works. I know they do cosmic bowling. Parties and even fundraising events. Saw a family bowling and the lanes would put bumpers up for kids and down for adults automatically. Really cool. read more

Great place to hang out in Waterford! There's always something going on, from open bowling and leagues to horseshoes, trivia, banquets and parties, all in a clean, family friendly, fun atmosphere. This is honestly the worst bowling experience I have ever had. They only play music if you pay for it. It is $4.10 per game per person or $24 and hour per person. Compared to mot places that are around $2 a game. They have a terrible video game selection for the kids. The sodas in the vending machine are $2 a bottle. Yes everything is automated, but so is EVERY OTHER BOWLING ALLY these days! The lanes were ok, the balls were ok, the shoes were typical smelly shoes. They didn't have cosmic bowling when we were there so can't comment on that. How ever the manger was unwelcoming (he was running the front desk when we got there), rude, and impatient. When we went to pay the kid at the counter couldn't get our total correct, he was also unfriendly and rude, barley spoke a word. This is the worst bowling alley I have been to. I have been all over the country. Go elsewhere! I beg of you don't waste your money there. read more

This business deserves so much more than 5 stars. I had the pleasure of working with Theresa, Chuck and the staff at River City Lanes & Bruno's Restaurant for my daughters Sweet 16 Surprise Party. Not only were they accommodating but also offered suggestions and ideas to help create a final vision. Theresa is amazing to work with and so open to continual communication whether it be email, phone calls, or drop ins to feel comfortable before the event. She was willing to help us achieve our goal within our budget and so flexible with all of the ideas and changes we made during the planning. During the event it felt like Theresa, Chuck, and Nick (bartender) were guests at our party and a part of the family. I would be honored to work with this group of great people again for any event and would definitely recommend them to everyone whether big or small!!!! read more
