Our tour guide Dan was fantastic! Very friendly! It was our first time kayaking and he made sure we felt very comfortable and safe! Our tour lasted about 2 hours and we were able to see a beautiful sunset and a couple beavers including a momma and her baby. Dan was very informative on the different insects and birds that we saw through out the tour as well as the history that goes along with the river. I have nothing but good words to say for Dan and our tour! He went above and beyond for us. We called to book a tour and unfortunately he was full but called us back shortly after when he had some one cancel! Can't say many other businesses would do something like that! Our group of 6 paddled with River Cruiser Kayaking owner Dan Hudak on 4.21.14. We took the Cuyahoga River guided tour, launching from Harvard Avenue and taking out at Wendy Park where the river empties into Lake Erie. The entire trip ran 3 hours, a 7 mile journey, and we loved it! Dan did a great job in giving us the background on the river, pointing out landmarks along the way and explaining the history of what we saw. It was a unique urban paddling adventure combined with an architectural and historical tour that made for a wonderful experience. read more

Me and my wife have been interested in getting into Kayaking so we booked a guided tour with Dan to take us through the Cuyahoga River. The trip was absolutley amazing, Dan was able to help us navigate the river in our tandem kayak all the while pointing out the nature around us, seeing things such as Herons, Hawks, Mink, Swallows, and the crown jewel of the tour was a breath taking view of an american Bald Eagle. Since I normally do things backwards, I purchased a Kayak this spring even though I've never been in one before. Realizing I needed some basic instructions, I took a beginning course with Dan out on Coe Lake in Berea. While his basic course was very thorough and stressed safety, it was also a lot of fun and stress free.. We booked the scarlet/grey run when we had a visitor from Sydney Australia. We wanted to show him the local flora, fauna, and wildlife from a different view. Yesterday (Sunday, 6-26-16) my wife, our 10 year old son and I took a relaxing cruise down The Ohio Canal. We had so much fun! As we were first time kayakers, Dan, the owner was fantastic. Had an outstanding guided tour on the Chagrin River from Gates Mills to Willoughby. Dan provided good transportation and kayaks. We got to see a lot of wildlife on the trip, including great blue herons, dozens of trout, and three bald eagles. Dan was informative and helpful, even getting out in the water to help us so we could stay in our kayaks and keep dry. Another great trip with this company. We toured the rocky river trail and had a great time. Dan was extremely helpful in warning us of areas to watch out for. Price was very fair and the cruise lasted about 2 hours (trip is usually longer but the river was up during our trip). During our trip we saw a bald eagle fly about 30 ft above us. Be on the lookout for the bald eagle best if you take this trail. Would definitely recommend. read more

Just had my first kayak experience and enjoyed every minute of it! I did the Scarlet Gray Run with just Dan and I. Dan was very helpful and informative. The run took about 2.5 hrs, it wasn't too difficult but not a real easy run either. I will definitely be back to book another trip! Only tip I would add is to wear some water shoes because it gets a little muddy! read more

Overall great experience! We did the Gold Run Trip, very scenic and nice kayaks. Dan told us instructions on all the turns before we left. The trip was a little above our skill level and water levels high, so came across a few issues along the trip and Dan stayed nearby and came out every time to help. River cruiser offers some seriously majestic river runs that it seems no one else does. We did a 3 hr run from Harvard rd to lake Erie which was amazing. I'd never seen the two souls to Cleveland laid so bare as in paddling past the belching steal mills while herons squawked above us and the skyline loomed ahead. Reasonable prices too! read more

We were visiting from Tennessee and I planned this kayak adventure way ahead of time. Dan was so helpful through the whole process. We ended up doing the bronze and silver combined.
