We were short on time, but we did it anyway. We decided to paddle the entire time to speed it up. The driver who took us up stream was friendly and he chatted with us during the drive. Then he put our kayaks in the water and helped us board them. After paddling the entire time, it took us less than 1.5 hours to complete the trip. My daughter was happy because she had plans that evening. The river was scenic, there weren't a lot of people on it, and I'd definitely do this again. There were some shallow areas in the river where my kayak touched the bottom, but I was able to paddle out of it. Good times!

Upon check-in, the person spoke so quickly that we had no idea what she even said to us. My friend and I looked at each completely confused. He had a VIP ticket and was supposed to receive a light-up lei, a waterproof device case, a VIP wristband, and a regular wristband. What he received: light-up lei and 2 wristbands. We never received his waterproof device case, which honestly really sucked because we were counting on that because we needed it. I had regular admission and received my wristband and regular lei from a more helpful check-in person, while my VIP friend was left stranded and clueless. I bought a cup because I was I was in a rush from earlier and needed a reusable container. As someone who had never done this before, I didn't know what "cooler tube" meant, so I thought it was a cooler rental, so I was mega confused. I get it now: it's an inner tube that floats with you and your soft cooler. The website is not helpful for first timers. Okay, so we get on the shuttle, mildly panicked, hoping that all devices survive because we don't get our dry bag we paid for with the VIP ticket. We wanted to ask, but they called for boarding the shuttle and the tent was gone after we floated the river. We had a nice time on the river itself. Tiki Underground was NOT prepared for all of us to head over after floating the river. The staff was confused. The patio was crowded with the regular crowd. We had to turn in our wristbands for our drink tickets, so we couldn't use our wristbands around the rest of the downtown, which would've been nice to know. I don't think I would do another themed event. I would float the river again overall. Note: I did contact the company about the phone case on Saturday when we returned to our vehicle, hoping we could make arrangements for it. Since the ticket was $90 and it was included with it, it would be nice to have for other float the rivers in the future. I have not yet received a response. I will call if nothing by the weekend.

This free admission park consists of a large pond (or small lake?) and a couple smaller ones in a…read moreheavily wooded very tranquil wetland area , , some hiking trails, an archery range, primitive restrooms, a large covered picnic shelter. Large pond is suitable for fishing from a rowboat or canoe. As of Aug 2015 most of the hiking trails are "closed for maintenance." Lots of Canada Geese around who have left evidence of their presence all around the edges of the lake. This is a very quiet , serene place. If you are a birdwatcher or like fishing this may be very interesting for you. The picnic area has a nice view of the pond, which probably looks pretty eery on a misty morning.. Be sure to check out the State Nature Preserve next door (parking lot anf access from Mill road) which has a number of hiking trails.

They provided some food and we brought some too. Just such a relaxing wonderful summertime thing to do. I highly recommend it. They have different size boats. You can just hop on the one going, or schedule one for yourself. They will provide the driver to navigate, and you just sit back and relax. They also have some cruises with live Musicians on board, which is really nice too.

It is that close to parking. While some would find that a nice feature, the trade-off is that you'll be right next to Riverview and the buzzing traffic heading north and south through the park. They'll look at you, some quizzically, standing at the base of the driveway to the park security headquarters, casting into the tiny pond. They will also make a mental note to come back with the old Zebco and haul out some panfish. Take four or five minutes and catch a tiny fish, kiss its slimy nose, and release it back into the pond. Life is, indeed, good.

We decided to go last minute and it was past 2 pm when we tried to reserve tickets (it wouldn't let us). We decided to call the park website and the employee helping me was able to put my name down for the last few slots at 3 pm. That was very kind of them. You are required to wear gloves when you go down on the toboggan (probably to protect your fingers from the cold since you are required to grip ropes). There are a number of stairs you have to climb to get to the top. There were a good amount of people there and we probably needed to wait 15 minutes each time to ride, but the line got shorter as it got closer to closing time. They didn't allow people to enter the line past 4:45 pm since it closes at 5 pm. It was $15 per person but so worth it! What a fun and unique experience. I got to go with my 66 year old dad, my 33 year old sister, and my 18 year old brother as the toboggan sits up to 4. With this many big people on, it made the toboggan go pretty fast! There's a speedometer that calculates your speed for you. It's a little scary but thrilling! Follow the employee's instructions. We even got to race each other because there are 2 chutes. Our respective employees each tried to give our team boosts (my employee hurried to let us out first while the other employee pushed my brother and dad a bit for them to catch up). They are super nice and friendly, and when we forgot our sunblock, they gave us some that someone had left behind. They didn't try to sell us any. It's $10 per hour per rental, which is super cheap. Everything was clean and in great shape. You go to their store, and then follow them in your own car to the lake. It's a one minute drive. Then they help you into the yak and off you go. They either come back to get the yaks at the time you want, or you can call or text them to come back. Great people, great experience, great price, great equipment. What else could you ask for?!?!
