Do not sleep on this brewery! This small brewery just outside Bluffton packs a big punch and has some of the best beer in the area. Their Hazy IPAs were amazing and they have other styles that have taken home some big awards (Silver metal sour @ GABF). Glad I checked this place out.

October 5, 2018 Friday - 3 PM for a drink 1 adult and a teenager Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - Found this place through Untappd via their badge program and it was close to our hotel so I went for it. Atmosphere - Simple bar with some tables to fill in the room. My daughter and I sat at the bar. The chairs felt as if they were the wrong height for the counter top. Food Drinks - I had their standard IPA, River Dog IPA. I also purchased a bottle to take back to the hotel. I had to try the 3 Barrel Circus as it won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival a few weeks ago. My daughter's drink - They gave my daughter a free glass of root beer. I enjoyed my sip of it. Service - Our bartender was great. He took care my daughter with a root beer and some stickers. Future - Yes.

Came in on a Friday evening for a visit. Small table and bar area. Spaces out well. Friendly bartender and service was good. A great selection of beers. Me being an IPA guy I found several good choices. Really good beer. They've been around for a few years. Located in a business area off main road not great parking. No food or food trucks. You can bring food or snacks in.

Decided to take an afternoon off the island and explore Bluffton. It was a no brainer to swing by and check this place out. The brewery is tucked away in an industrial park. It was a little tough to find at first but after a trip around we found it. Very clean inside with a small tasting area. There are a few seats at the bar and then some high-top tables. The only downside I can think of is that dogs weren't allowed inside. They had 10 beers on tap so instead of trying to pick one I just got a flight of 6 beers. They have the option of trying their flight of 4 beers or building your own. I was feeling froggy so I made my own. I tried the Salty Dog Pale Ale, River Dog IPA, Perkolatte Coffee Milk Stout, Red IPA, Riverwalk Empire American Pilsner, and the Citrashake Imperial IPA. The River Dog IPA is probably the most popular beer which can be found at most bars around town. The Perkolatte was a very good stout but I think that my favorite is the Citrashake. Something about IPAs with Citra hops just get me. The bartender was very friendly and was telling us all about their operation. Afterwards he gave us some stickers (we decorate our cooler with stickers from everywhere we visit.) This is a cool place to check out whenever you are in the area.

Flight of Brew!! Great options and excellent brews on tap to experience!

Hidden Brew Heaven! While en route to our vacation destination in low country, we stopped for a brew stop and to check out one of the local craft breweries. We had our pup with us but one appeal is the welcome of canines- the owners have definite dog love as proclaimed on their website AND by the nice set-up of hightops and comfy bar stools on the outside. It was a nice warm day so we were happy to sit and had tableside orders for pours. You can choose a flight of your liking and my companion loved his options. At least 12 brews on tap as well as a few listed on the board which was an added bonus! A good stop - the hidden quality is its location in a small office park. Good quality and great choices! Overall we enjoyed our stop off the beaten path to try a flight and relax before heading to our final destination. Plan a nice quick stop on your way!

The Imperial Perkolatte: delicious coffee notes in a strong dark beer

The owners were some of the nicest people that we met in South Carolina. The brewery itself was located kind of in the middle of nowhere and it was quite hard to find. Google Maps will take you the wrong way, so just keep your eyes peeled for the signs! There was a substantial amount of parking there and it's all free! I was really impressed by how nice the tasting room was. It had a down home feel with a charming South Carolina flair. The dark woods were adorned with Carolina flags and cute nautical notions since we were so close to Hilton Head. It looked like a rugged Pinterest-er sailor exploded in the room and made it their own. We were greeted immediately by the owner and the cute bartender. She was a student nearby and was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. We tried the Imperial Perk-o-latte (robust and deep coffee flavors brewed with the local Corner Perk roast) and the Peaches en Floralia which was actually made in Chardonnay wine barrels. It was divine, like a fine mix between a light fruit saison and white wine (even though it was actually a sour blond ale aged on peaches in bourbon then Chardonnay barrels). The beer was so fragrant. I have never had anything like it before. We also tried their River Dog IPA and really enjoyed it. For such a young brewery, River Dog has started off on the right foot. They have starting canning their Riverwalk Empire and I really can't wait for them to can some more (If you are reading this please can the Peaches en Floralia). A short drive from Hilton Head Island, this little brewery is definitely a "must visit" in South Carolina.

A nice glass of something good! Try them all!

Man I love this place ! The nitro Milk Stout was so good I bought a growler of it to take home. All the beers I had were great east coast meets west coast beers is the best way to describe River Dog the style they brew. The food truck serving Maine lobster rolls were excellent with my Pilsner and IPAs . So in short I had a freaking fantastic time here.

This is neat little brew pub. It is located in a light industrial complex just off the highway that connects Hilton Head Island with I95. They have a decent selection of beer. The have a set of about half a dozen beers that they produce regularly and about an equal number of seasonal or special beers. I had a small flight of samples. I liked their IPA, Saison, and Stout. They seem to be expanding relative to my last visit a year ago; they now are canning several of their brews; I have seen them in grocery stores in the surrounding area. I recommend visiting this brew pub.

Checked this sweet little brewery out while in SC on vacation! Beer is tasty, service is awesome, kid friendly, and an overall great experience! If you're in SC and looking for tasty beer and good service, make a stop here! Doug was awesome, really friendly and knowledgeable!

Best brewery on Hilton Head!…read more We stopped here on a Friday afternoon for lunch, and I'm glad we took the time to check this brewery out. First, the beer. A great selection and variety of styles. Not just hazy IPAs, but a couple great WCIPAs and a wide range of other offerings. The bartender, Christian, was a pleasure and very friendly. Next, the food. A small food truck in back, but run by someone who obviously cares about his offerings. The Brussel sprouts were amazing, and he's taken the care to craft recipes that go beyond small brewery food options. I didn't catch his name, but my compliments to the chef. Finally, my pet peeve - family friendly amenities. There were a variety of games and food options for kids. And there was also a changing table in both restrooms! It should be standard to have changing tables available for dads, but in my experience that hasn't been the norm. Thank you to the owners for making families feel welcome at your brewery. All in all, this is one of the best breweries I've been to, and that is saying something. By far, the best brewery on the island. We had a great lunch, and the beer was so good that I brought home a 4 pack of the "Spun Out" WCIPA.

Service: Our waitress did a good job of getting our drink orders correct and our food came out pretty quickly 4/5 Food: I had the patty melt and my wife had a burger. The food was above average. 3.5/5 The beer: This is where things went sideways . I've had SBB's core beers before and they are pretty solid, especially the Damn Yankee IPA. We decided to get two flights of beer. The flights had all 8 of their small batch releases. They were terrible. I would only order 1 out the 8 again. The two Belgian beers and the sour had a strong vinegar taste. The others were unremarkable. 1/5 I'd go back for the core beers and food, but would be very leery ordering any small batch beers Overall rating 2/5. Only a few TVs show specific games, making it hard to find a seat with a clear view. We sat at a table in the middle where one game was on three TVs and our game was on just one, so only part of the table could see it. On top of that, the line at the bar often blocked the corner TVs, making visibility even worse. The food, however, was solid. The chicken nachos, wood-fired pizza, and pretzel with beer cheese were favorites. The salads were disappointing--too many croutons, not enough dressing or protein, and they felt hastily put together, so I wouldn't recommend them. The bartending staff was excellent, but the food ordering area in the back seemed overwhelmed, and staff appeared unfamiliar with the computer system. On the positive side, the outdoor area near the fire pits is fantastic, especially on colder evenings or during big games. The fire pit staff was attentive and consistently made sure everything was running smoothly. If you plan to go, sit outside.
