This was a great little stop. While the brewery itself is pretty average in setup, the beer selection was anything but. There were lots of options to suit any taste, and the IPAs really stood out -- hazy, creamy, cloudy, and perfectly dank. Our family, who are non-IPA lovers, found something equally delicious for their taste buds and said they enjoyed the smoothness (lager & stout). Sitting on their outdoor patio gave a nice, laid-back vibe. We ended up grabbing a coffee blonde to go, which was a unique and tasty surprise. Located in a strip mall there's ample parking and indoor/outdoor seating. Limited menu for non-beer drinkers but sufficient for beer lovers. We ordered inside and served & seated ourselves but it's a nice atmosphere and dogs are welcomed. My husband and daughter both enjoyed their beer. There was a power outage while we were there so cash was the only option to pay. I believe my experience may have been limited to the power outage so I'd try it again. read more

Ahhh--THIS is where the locals are! Was wondering... We really enjoyed this place. Inside is smaller but comfy, outside is a very nice patio, tables & chairs, awning cover, games. We shared two flights and I thought everything was delicious. They were quite busy & bartender had to run food out too, so no opportunity for chat. I really believe this is the HHI premier brewery. They have a Pilsner that really hits home. The food is good but limited - the Bavarian Pretzel is worth the $10. They do get busy - don't be in a rush here. But it's as good as it gets and it's worth the wait. I do love the ambiance at HHB. One large table inside with a bar but many very nice outdoor tables to be had and bar service to boot. read more

Ok... first time to Hilton Head and first stop as we arrived into town. Food is bar food but good. Hot dog, chicken salad sliders and big pretzel. Beer good and very cold. However, service was zero. The bartender and brew master sat at end of bar with a few of the locals and we endured a repeated barrage of inappropriate conversation and f bombs for the entire duration of our visit. There were families and others in there and their visit lasted about as long as ours. Sorry but clean up the foul mouth if you want repeat customers and good reviews. read more

They apparently have food here too, but I did not go that far. Hilton Head Island is small enough that serving only beer is still a good thing. The place is super nice. The only service is at the bar, so belly up, place your order, and take it outside if you wish. Yes, you can still run a tab that way, so all is happy and good. There is good seating outside and though they have TVs they were playing music which I found odd but didn't care about at the time. I assume that would change if you asked. The beer was surprisingly good. Heck, the Tropical Lager alone is a home run, giving new life to a dull type of beer for me. I am surprised that Hilton Head doesn't seem to be a draught choice in any of the restaurants I have been to in the area that at least I know of -- what is up with that? Either way, the only one thing that could make this place better is better service. It seems to be noted in at least one of the other reviews here, but the bar tender that was there for me was surprisingly abrupt at best and silent for the most part. As if this was your first time going to a brewery, and you really had no clue as to what is going on, you might actually walk out. read more

I appreciated that they did flights, so I was able to try an assortment of brews. They also had a really cool patio outside, which included TVs, and it was nice to chill on. The cutest little brewery in a tiny strip mall! I was surprised when we drove into the parking lot that the brewery was so small. However it is jam packed with charm! They definitely are taking the virus seriously as they are taking many precautions with them asking. There is only seating outside and they are ensuring that everyone wears a mask while entering the brewery. Very nicely decorated and very clean. I did not get to take a picture of the restrooms but they were super clean. We bought a six pack of the Foley for a friend back home and I tasted the red headed step child. We did not have time because we needed to go to dinner, but I would have definitely loved to have had the pretzel with the beer cheese. It looked amazing! My husband tried a bunch of the different beers and settled on one. He said it was absolutely delicious and very refreshing. Staff was very friendly and the owner stopped by himself to bring our beer to go. Very attentive and helpful. They did not hesitate to give you samples if you wanted one. This was the 2nd brewery that we visited on HHI (did you know there are only 3?) We loved the patio on the sunny day and appreciated the sign that explained we should go in to order at the bar and sit where we'd like outside. The Hefe was my fav but all my tasters were good! We would've stayed a while, maybe ordered more beer, possibly returned for a 2nd or 3rd time during our week-long stay (like we did with the other brewery we ended up sticking with) but... it didn't seem like the bartender would want us to. We weren't greeted or asked if we wanted a drink, weren't told that flights are welcomed (but don't dare tell her what kind you want - you have to grab a pencil from the end of the bar and write it yourself or you'll be shot a glance), not asked if we wanted to order food and no one came back after our appetizers were brought to see if we would want anything else... water maybe? We are great tippers with an appreciation for and years of experience in customer service. The HHI service industry is leaving a lot of $ on the table because this was about the 6th experience we had with sub par service in a brewery/bar/restaurant with great product. read more

As a tourist, I really wanted to check out this brewery! But since it's summer, my dinner reservations were getting later and later, leaving very little time to visit the brewery at night before it closed. Luckily, I was able to go before finned on Saturday. The place was a bit off of the beaten path, so I wasn't sure I was going the right way. The map here was correct though. The brewery is not facing the street so you gotta come around the front of the plaza to see it. They have quite a few tables outside, which are on the covered patio. There are TVs outside as well, so we were able to continue watching the PGA tournament. We went inside to check out the shop and order some beers. Three men were in there, maybe the owner and employees? Anyhow, we asked for a couple flights and were able to choose four beers each, from their entire menu. We also ordered the pretzel (YUM) w the beer cheese and mustard. We took our beers on their boards outside and our pretzel was brought out to us when it was ready. I noticed inside the shop the sell Tshirts and other merchandise as well as canned beers to go. There are some tables inside as well as separate restrooms for men and women, the area of which is aptly labeled "The facilities" haha. Our beers were awesome. We both went for "Fleck U" and "Smokin'". We also enjoyed the "Juan Juan", "tropical Lager", "folly 2y" and "Hefe". After finishing our flights, we decided we wanted more! We went inside and tried a few more beers, including the oxymoron. We decided on their sour, which was awesome. We are not typically fans of sours but it was really tasty! Unfortunately I can't remember the name. Overall, we had an awesome time at the brewery. It's a shame it's not in a more populated/busy area. It would likely increase their business if they had more traffic. I would totally go back again. I am so glad I visited. read more

This a small off the beaten path brewery in HHI. Near the HHI airport... And I did get turned around a few times before I found this in a strip mall .(.even MY GOOGLE maps had a few glitches) There are about 10 seats at the bar, a few tables.along with some outside seating , corn hole and TV's. Food is available, Beer was flavorful and smooth as I just had a flight....it did not have a lot of IPA BITE . I did not see any wine as.any option but maybe others have . This was a pleasant surprise to find that happened after a tour of a distillery up the street. The brewery makes and sells a large selection of beers for your enjoyment and at a reasonable price. I tried the sampler that allowed you to pick several offerings to drink and if you enjoyed a certain beer then you can purchase a regular serving without wasting your money. They also have several items to eat while enjoying your brews. We got a oversized freshly baked pretzel and a crab cheddar dip with tortilla chips that was so delicious that I really stopped eating the pretzel. Everything that was ordered was fantastic. We hit all 16 beers that were on draft and all but one was great, good or decent but the jalapeño beer. Service was great and very friendly bartender!! So 5/5 for beer and 3.5/5 for food. The beer was phenomenal! So many great choices. Hard to choose. They will do 4 oz pours and flights but they are using only plastic cups to help reduce any sort of contamination so they try to discourage the smaller pours. We ended up getting 2 growlers to go because the beer was so great. We tried the Schroeder, Karma, Dunkel and got the Single Honey and Java the Bock to go. The Java the Bock is the Schroeder with coffee added. Mind blowing! It was a tad cold so they had the patio covered. The tables inside were socially distant but we felt more comfortable sitting unenclosed by the fire pit (we had our son with us). The staff was friendly and nice. They have a hand sanitizer area and masks are required to go into the taproom. One bartender had her mask off a few times but I think it was a mistake and she corrected quickly. We got BBQ brisket, Mac n cheese, and a pretzel. The Mac was ehhhh not worth the calories and the brisket was delicious but we got a pretty fatty piece. The beer cheese for the pretzel was definitely not the best I've had but the pretzel was huge and yummy! I highly advise visiting and trying the delicious beer! read more

My wife and I started eating, and were like this is good. no wait, that's good... and continued on. Must try: - Everything on the meat pretzel combo. The beer cheese is bomb. The wings, that were marinated for two days and then smoked for two hours were unique and juicy. Pork and brisket were both solid and on par with a good BBQ joint. Only thing I'd say is some part of the central portion of the pretzel had an off taste/texture. -Double IPA. So much hops with such a clean finish. I tried to bring some home but not canned. One of the better Not missing out: Nothing we tried. Maybe the one sour on their menu was nothing to write home about Wish they had more sours. They aren't offering flights because of COVID right now, but since we'd never had any of theirs beers before, they let us have a few sample tastes before settling on which full pours we wanted.
