We popped in after attending new HOWSE Retail furniture Grand Opening for a cocktail and appetizers - Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes, moist lump crab w/roasted red pepper coulis, together with a plate of the Mediterranean Shrimp, marinated in aged balsamic vinegar & chilli oil and just had to have a half rack of RG's succulent baby back ribs (fall off the bone, cooked to order & perfection). A couple of Cran-tini's and a glass of Danzante Pinto Grigio rounded out an impromptu visit. This is a great restaurant for both lunch and special dinners. They have a chicken salad on sourdough that is incredible. Their lunch menu is also alot less expensive than their dinners. I eat there 3 or 4 times a month and have never had a bad meal. read more

If you're looking for a great place for fine dining, I highly recommend this restaurant! I brought a few of my girl friends here for lunch and everyone left more than satisfied. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. We were well taken care of by our server Deban, who I will definitely request next time I come here. Everything I heard about River Grille was positive, so I was looking forward to checking it out. I can't remember having a worse dining experience, and I've been living in Northwest Arkansas for almost two years, so that's saying a lot. I should have known we were in trouble when we brought a bottle of wine to enjoy with our meal and the staff became confused when we asked about a corkage fee and it took about 15 minutes to sort out if this was okay with management. The salad was drab and the pear served with it seemed spoiled. I was given the wrong size steak and the ice cream I had at the end of the meal was horrible. Throw in the old rug with the seams showing, bad music and Ansel Adams prints on every freaking wall and you get the picture. The fact that it's expensive does not automatically qualify it as a "high-end steakhouse", as some reviewers here characterize, it's called a ripoff. Save your money and go to Acambaro. read more

So at the recommendation of the hotel I decided to try this place. It was walking distance from the hotel which was great, and I'm pleased to share this place is a winner. I sat at the bar and enjoyed their happy hour drink prices. The menu is classic which is fine if the food is prepared well. I had, at the recommendation of everyone around me, the pork chop. For the price is was a good deal and was prepared perfectly. If you are in the area, or visiting and staying at the Bentonville Courtyard...give this place a try. We went to check the place out after the Courtyard hotel clerk said it was excellent and mid-range price. We had no idea this is a fancy restaurant and were wearing jeans and tshirts. The hostess asked if we had reservations even though there was only 1 table occupied by an older couple. And it was only around 4pm, sooooo...... Anyway, the hostess seated us and the server came over right away and we ordered water to drink. We took one look at the menu and decided that we would not be able to eat there for no less than over $100 for the 2 of us. In other words, it's definitely high end on the pricing. Do NOT walk in the door unless you have that kind of money to spend on DINNER. Our weekly grocery bill isn't even that high! We walked back to the front and politely told the hostess that this is not the place for us. When she and the server thought we were out of earshot they started laughing at us. You know, I get that its a high end restaurant, but dang, have a little professionalism. I swear, kids these days! read more

I have always received professional service and high-quality food when dining here and this last visit was certainly no exception.

Although it's not 100% consistent I have to give it 5 stars because it is one of the best restaurants in Bentonville. I'd stay away on special occasions when they staff for extra business with temporary, or at least not regular, waitstaff; but on regular nights and weekends, it's great. I haven't found one thing in the menu that isn't fantastic. Steak, fish, pasta- all good. Creme brûlée is great and the have espresso/lattes. Top notch. read more

First time visit for my husband and I. We were greeted and seated immediately although the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived. The decor and ambience was upscale which was nice. Our server (I think her name was Nicole) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and just a sweetheart. Drinks were great and food was good. I had a tenderloin which was excellent but I did not really enjoy the crab/asparugus risotto. The creme brulee was good; not the best I've had but still good. Disappointing on my annual celebration at RiverGrill. Seven family members seated at the end of the piano. Previously the music was played softly, background, allowing for conversation - too loud and beating for this visit from both piano players, not pianists. The crab was the only above-average serving. Potato wedges were interesting, value, good. Beef tips were flavorless, grilled shrimp tasted imported from offshore via Sam's Club, not from the Gulf of Mexico just a couple of hundred miles away, hamburger was gigantic to our 8 year old, completely inedible even with a fork, was not tasty. A third of the bill was paid by gift card from my company Enterprise Rental Cars as employee appreciation and to stimulate businesses affected by the pandemic - thank you EAN Holdings, the remarketing arm of Enterprise, Alamo, National. I will never eat at this place again. I heard some much about this restaurant, so I tool my wife on our anniversary. I paid $35.00 for a piece of frozen salmon and the service was the worse. I kept trying to get our servers attention and she must have know I was not happy with my meal because no one asked or checked on us once we received our food. I will preface this statement by saying that I've dined at River Grille many times, all without incident. It's a lovely restaurant and their food is second to none in the area. That being said, I ate lunch there a few weeks ago, and had a not so pleasant experience. When I walked in, the woman at the front desk was on her cell phone talking. When I approached her, instead of acknowledging me, she proceeded to finish her conversation, and asked me to 'hold on'. After she finished her conversation, her demeanor was one of someone who was unhappy of my presence in the restaurant even though the restaurant was clearly open. The food was on par and the service was spectacular as always, however there was little that could have been done to make me feel welcome. read more

Our first trip to Bentonville, and we did some research. Well my husband and I were very excited to eat at this location. Viewing the information online, we had our evening planned and dinner to be had here. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 2120, only 2 groups here, and a lady drinking alone at the bar, we were handed the short menus and told we only had 10 min to order food before the kitchen closed. Even though the website said 2300. I ordered an ice tea, a soda for him. We decided that with only 10 more min in the kitchen, the $35-$40 steaks we were about to order would gEt the shaft. We opted for a quick and simple truffle fries. Upon finishing my glass of ice tea, I was brought a water, and told the tea was empty. The bartender brought out our ""truffle friEs" only to be regular steak fries. We were charged fully for an order of truffle fries and I was charged for my ice tea, that I barely got to enjoy. We paid our check and went to applebees where we were tended to properly. We will never come here again. Thanks for ruining our weekend away with crappy service and limited menu/ availability. This restaurant has amazing food. I'm only taking a star off because it is pretentious. It is also pricy, but I can't complain because most of the dishes are worth the price. Great apps! The ahi tuna entree is to die for... wasabi horseradish encrusted and a huge portion in steak form. The creamy lump crab and asparagus risotto is of course delicious. They have a spring veggie salad that is really good to! They also have a great piano player... well it's a player piano, but still good. Considering you are in Arkansas with probably nothing better to do, I would say you should try this place. read more

My wife and I came here for a date on a Friday night. We had reservations, and were seated right away. The restaurant is very beautiful inside, with black and white photographs throughout, although some are actually Ansel Adams posters from a department store. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with the menu, and paid close attention to us the entire time. We were given an extensive wine list with our menus, but nowhere in the menu or the wine list was there mention of a beer selection, so I assumed there was none to be had. After our food arrived, the table next to us ordered several different beers. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, but I guess I should have asked. It would have been nice to be given a list of available beers or cocktails with the other menus. The food was good, but seemed a bit on the high side for the servings, even for a high end steak house. My wife did send her steak back to get the middle up above pink and cold for a medium, but my steak was a perfect medium rare. The potatoes were good, and the onion rings were very good. We had the date stuffed sweet peppers for an appetizer, and for 11 dollars, the four tiny bacon wrapped peppers seemed a bit overpriced. They were good, but nowhere close to the cheap dates offered at Table Mesa. Another complaint that I feel worth mentioning, the table in our booth had enormous feet that took up the entire space under the table. It was impossible to find a comfortable place to put your feet in the booth. read more

Usually a good experience. My daughter arrived for a visit. They did not have room in the restaurant, and seated us in the bar explaining that they had the restaurant menu in the bar. The food was excellent, but the service was borderline rude. A fast food restaurant would have been better. The rather portly waiter with glasses provided slow service, no bread, and an attitude that did not display friendliness. It took us two hours from 6:00-8:00 to order, be served, and eat. At the end he shoved the bill toward me. This was in stark contrast to the excellent service that we have received in the restaurant proper. I view a restaurant as a place where the you are a valued guest; this was not the case here. We will never eat in the bar again. We had a $200 bill, and an undeserved unwelcome feeling. We just had dinner here last nite (12/22/16) and it was better than some of the 5 star restaurants we were used to in Denver! The restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays and the service was wonderful. My Mom and I had the Clam Chowder and the Truffled Shellfish Risotto, and my Husband had the CC and the Fresh Atlantic Salmon. We all had the Creme Brûlée for dessert, which was fabulous!! The River Grille is Bentonville's best kept secret. It is a great place to go for lunch with an excellent menu and superb service every time. Great place for a lunch meeting or just to enjoy the atmosphere. Prices are comparable and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Chicken Salad Sandwich and Fries with fresh brewed iced tea. Dinners are excellent and priced like any great steakhouse. However the food and service surpass any other in the area. For a great steak dinner, I recommend the ribeye. Can't go wrong. I have never had a better meal anywhere in the area and the atmosphere adds even more. Try it once and it will become your favorite. It is certainly my favorite. read more

What has happened to this place?? My husband and I went there Saturday night to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and it was AWFUL. I've had a better steak at Cracker Barrel--no kidding. My husband and I each ordered the ribeye and they were thin and tasteless. It's the first time I've ever had to ask for salt for a $34 steak. You would think on a Saturday night they would have their best chef in the kitchen... My risotto was ok, but my husband's mashed potatoes were dry and chalky. The service was lackluster at best (honestly, I think she knew the food was bad and was embarrassed). Absolutely the worst fine dining experience I've ever had. It was completely disappointing.
