We came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was okay but our salmon was way undercooked. The French fries were so salty. Our waiter Keith did not even notice that we didn't eat much nor asked if our food was okay after the first bite. When the reservation was made, the hostess asked if we were celebrating something in which we replied yes a birthday. Everyone around us was getting presented a dessert with a candle, we did not receive even a happy birthday. I went here with my spouse for our 50th wedding anniversary. She had steak Tournedos and I had the seafood carbonara. I had a couple of excellent cups of coffee and Joan had an excellent fresh brewed iced tea. The wait service was excellent and the ambience was very good. For dessert we split a piece of key lime pie, also really tasty. Everything was done so well that even though I'll call it a little pricey, we are looking forward to making this one of our more frequent haunts. read more

Wished I could give a fair review. I've been to this restaurant numerous times and the food and service has always been outstanding. The atmosphere is wonderful and the piano player makes it fun. We had family visit from Pennsylvania and thought we would bring them to a nice restaurant. We brought them here this past spring. What a sad disappointment! The food was terrible. My mother-in-law ordered a chicken entree, and I did as well. Both entrees were undercooked and tasted bland. The other three entrees that were ordered were not enjoyed, steaks. This is a great restaurant! It is a hidden gem - at least to me because I never noticed it before because it isn't easily seen off of the road. I have heard great things about this place, so I was excited to try it out. It has a great ambiance and is very fancy and classy. You definitely come here for a special night or when you want to have a classy time. When we were there for dinner there was a piano player - I'm not sure if the piano player is there all the time, but we were there on a Saturday night. The whole menu looked and sounded delicious! We had a shrimp and crab dip to share and it was delicious. I'm normally not a shrimp person, but this was an exception. I wasn't super hungry, so I did not want to order a large meal and I ended up getting two side dishes - the seasonal vegetables and asparagus and crab risotto. They were both good, but I'm not positive if I'd have the seasonal vegetables again. I tried my husband's bbq ribs and they were delicious! I also tried the creamed corn/pepper dish and it was yummy! I love this resturant whenever I got to Bentionville. It's a little on the snooty side you know...they clear your bread crumbs and put your napkin on your lap. I've eaten here probably over a dozen times and have never had a bad meal. Ever. The decor is all dark wood. Could be nice for a romantic date. You can go there with jeans or you be all dressed up. Their tuna is to die for and ask the chef to whip up a special batch of wasabi mashed potates to top it off. :: swoon :: I've never had desert here but they do have nice wine and scotch selections. My wife and I celebrated our 49th anniversary last Friday, November 27th. River Grill continues to be our favorite fine dining restaurant in NW Arkansas. Kieth, was our waiter and provided outstanding service without the hovering seen in some places. My wife thoroughly her steak and lobster with the side of mushrooms and we shared the creamed corn. Greg, as manager, came bye to wish us a happy anniversary. I asked him about the bison filet. He felt it was the best steak in the house. I ordered it medium rare and without a doubt this was the best steak I've had in a very long time. Greg also suggested a different sauce for the steak, an option I didn't know was available, and it was stellar. Brenda, the owner of River Grill, has become a dear friend, and she came bye to share in our anniversary. If we could give River Grill more than 5 stars, we certainly would do so. Right next to the Courtyard Marriott, River Grille seems to be the place to go for a couple drinks after work, if you work in that area, or a nice lunch and dinner place to take your boss to. Their steak menu is extensive and even the fish options are wrapped in bacon. At least that's what it seemed like. Went to this place because I didn't want to walk very far from my hotel and didn't realize it was a steakhouse. I don't eat meat, so I just had the Winter greens salad and a side of the risotto with crab. The salad was okay, but was drenched in olive oil. The risotto, on the other hand, was delicious. Huge chunks of crab in every bite with a wonderful cheese grated over the top. The hostess was extremely nice and the waiter was very courteous. 4 stars goes to the service and risotto. :D Prices are typical of a steakhouse, I think. read more

I've lived here most of my life and this was my first time eating at this restaurant. I had a gift card that I received for my birthday. I believe our waiters name was Jon and he was fantastic. I had the Chilean Sea Bass (it was served with a delicious butternut squash purée) at his recommendation as well as the chocolate toffee pudding (not what you are imagining!) for dessert. Good food but a little to pricy for what I got. Rib eye was almost too much marble. Hard to complain though because it was prime within walking distance to my hotel. read more

Went there for the first time after living here for awhile, took the mother in law there no alcohol the bill was a hefty sum, unfortunately the rib-eye that I ordered had no flavor 0 no salt and pepper nothing. Maybe I was supposed to ask for flavor? Idk but if you want the cut off the cow thrown in the skillet served up this would be a great choice for you. It wasn't just me the gentleman at the next table actually complained and the owner or cook actually came out and talked to the guy. Me personally have had much better steaks at Outback, or Texas Roadhouse future reference for me personally next time I want to pay that kinda money for steak I will definitely go to Ruth-Chris. Honestly, for as much hype as this place was given, I would rather go to Outback. I enjoy my steak medium rare or rare depending on the restaurant I go to, but for my first time most places, I select medium rare, as it seems to be the most consistent choice. In hindsight, after first glance I should have sent the thing back because it was no where close to well grilled/seared on the outside. Remember, it can still be pink and juicy in the middle, but well seared and seasoned on the outside. I also waited a long time for the meal, which would have been fine if the thing came out beautiful, but honestly with how long it took, I think someone forgot my order, and then kind of "short timed" it because they realized their mistake. This place is faaaaaancy pants. The atmosphere shows it and the price does as well. However, the food is some of the best I've ever had and it was the perfect dinner date night. The charcuterie board was what brought me, Imma sucker for those; good hearty parmesan and Manchego cheeses as well as one that somehow tasted like Christmas! Also tried the crab dip. Stayed hot for a long time; it was definitely tasty too. The steak tournados were perfectly cooked, as was the asparagus and the potatoes. My date had just a regular 7 Oz sirloin and it was the tastiest meatiest Marshmallow we've ever had. Steak frites were thick and crispy: stayed crispy the entire meal too. Creme brûlée was absolute perfection. And I'll be honest, I took sides of the Mac and cheese and risotto home for midnight snacks and that was a fantastic decision. The best place to eat in Northwest Arkansas for a fancy dinner date, totally unlike a Sports Bar. You can actually talk and hear all of what the other person is saying. My 7 oz filet was fabulous, the best one I've ever had. Everything about River Grille is first class. The asparagus is perfect every time. The tripel chocolate cheesecake something was to die for. The wine list was impressive. The servers are extremely professional. The presentation is perfect and they wiped the crumbs from our tablecloth with a pad underneath it like my grandmother used to have on her dining room table. Such a tremendous Delight after being handed food through the car window at random drive-thrus during covid. The lady part owner even came and chatted with us and remembered that we sat at the same table last time. It makes a difference when there's an owner on site. We are from Texas where there are many high quality steak restaurants and I have to say that River Grille was better than any other restaurant in Houston. Hubby and I went here for date night. It was incredible! We both had the New York Strip 14oz with the asparagus and whipped potatoes. We also had the shrimp and crab dip to start and magnificent creme brûlée for dessert. It was all absolutely delicious and the service was extremely professional and attentive. The piano player was great and the ambience was just right. Also, I was expecting the wine prices to be outrageous but the same bottle of wine served at Tavolas in downtown Bentonville was $20 cheaper at River Grille (and the food was ten times better at River Grille). I have mixed emotions. Everytime I go I leave not impressed. It's just too convenient when you stay at the courtyard. Like today I ordered a gin Martini up with lemon twist. And it's delivered with tons of ice chips. Which I hate. Rib eye steak was not memorable and with no bark on the exterior. Veggies were under cooked. Last time I went the pork chop was under cooked and raw. I may be done giving this place a benefit of a doubt. read more
