This review is solely for the July 4th celebration…read more I was looking online for fireworks near my sister's and was happy to find out this school would be having them for the first time this year. Before, we would either drive out to Corona or Rancho Cucamonga, or we'd celebrate out where I live in L.A. However, L.A. is now moving towards drones which are boring in comparison to actual fireworks. I know drones are better for air quality and are reusable, but they're just not the same. There's something about hearing the loud bangs and the surprise of what colors and forms will come next. With drones, they're silent and there's no spontaneity, just tight formations. Anyway, I was so happy that there'd be actual fireworks here. We got there a few hours before the 9pm fireworks because I knew there'd be food trucks and entertainment beforehand. Parking was free and easy since they have a few big parking lots. Once the fireworks were over, though, it was a nightmare because no one was directing traffic and everyone was leaving at the same time. At one point I had 2 cars from different directions trying to get in front of me so that we made a Y. Meanwhile, people were walking and squeezing past. It was so dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. There were metal detectors and security guards at the entrances which made the event feel safe. We also saw an ambulance truck parked close to where the fireworks would be as a precaution. The singer of the Journey cover band said that the event was planned out as early as January and you could tell the organizers put a lot of work into it. Everything was laid out into sections: food, shopping, games, a car show, Porta Potties, the stage, and the gated off area where the fireworks would be. We were easily entertained for the few hours we were there before the fireworks. That being said, I know that this was this event's first year and they really went all out. My worry is that they'll start cutting costs as years go on and it won't be as good anymore. In the meantime, I'm hoping to make it a tradition for us to come here for July 4th every year from now on...Unless I remember how much I dreaded the parking situation and decide it's not worth it or they switch to drones or both.

The gym itself is of a good size, but the challenge for our school (Bishop Amat High School) is that we roll deep, meaning we have a HUGE fan base, which results in a very large turnout of support for all events affiliated with the school. The challenge at this gym was that there were not enough seats to accommodate everyone, which was not the school's fault, as they did their best to accommodate our school. THANK YOU! As far as our school is concerned, we won the game and now move on to the CIF Division II Championship game next Friday night.

The teachers don't send you to the bathroom if you need to but if you really gotta go it's a detention after school.

Keep in mind that some majors do not have any lower division GE courses at Norco College and your student may be torturing themselves through college classes that are not needed.

We're not allowed to wear our hoods when we're wearing hoodies? Like what if it's raining? Also, our shower bell to dress out for PE used to be 7 minutes but now it's 5 minutes?? How do you expect me to dress out in 5 minutes? And, our passing periods are only like 3-4 minutes, then we're not allowed to use the bathroom during class because we were "supposed to go during passing period" like how do you expect me to use the bathroom and walk to my class in 3 minutes? Also, if we do use it during class we only have 5 minutes to do so. Like what if I have diarrhea or something?Lastly, the school lunch is disgusting. Like yeah we have good pizza and burritos, but on Fridays, their "special" is buffalo chicken sliders? We were ignored for MONTHS when my daughter was in 8th grade - not knowing for sure if she was assigned to Norco for high school. When we finally got the notice she was enrolled, school had ended for the summer. My daughter wants to play sports. We have tried relentlessly to get ahold of the athletic department. Of course they don't call people back, they don't email people back and the school district plays games when you get to get a hold of someone who can help. The school makes you fill out an online form for medical clearance to play sports. You're supposed to upload a copy of the form to the site that is signed by the doctor. The process won't let you complete the application until the medical is attached. Wouldn't you know - my daughters medical clearance was denied because "no medical form attached". I took a screen shot of the website that shows the forms are uploaded in pdf form. I attached them to an email and requested someone review the denial. To date - we haven't been contacted and she is still showing as denied. I have tried to call the school and the school district to get assistance with this. They refuse to assist and place it back on the shoulders of the athletic department. It's insane to me that society demands teachers be held in high regard - but they don't even do the bare minimum of assisting families.

When my daughter had an anxiety attack, instead of helping, the principal told her to "get up and go to class" while she was crying and unable to breathe. That's not leadership -- that's cruelty. The new bathroom rules are beyond ridiculous. Only ONE bathroom pass per class? My daughter said a girl stained herself during her period because she couldn't go. That is humiliating and completely unacceptable. Students aren't even allowed in buildings or outside during lunch, and the new drop-off/pick-up system has already caused accidents. This principal is doing the most but not even doing anything to protect our children. The students look miserable every day leaving school. Parents -- beware. I am switching my daughter to another school.
