The owner is gracious and friendly while giving you space and privacy. The front yard is like a mini rainforest and the quiet property is located just minutes from Forks and a short drive from La Push, where great beaches can be found. There are lots of little special amenities like the boot dryer, which came in handy. I would highly recommend the Inn and would love to stay again when we hopefully return to explore more of Olympic National Park.

The B&B is a few minutes drive out on the outskirts of Forks, just the right distance to be convenient and yet very private. You're only about a 15 minute drive to La Push beaches and about 45 min to the Hoh Rainforest. We were fortunate enough to be able to rent the River House over Memorial Day due to a last minute cancellation (book early, it can be booked out several weeks in advance). The house has plenty of space indoors, with all the amenities and rustic cabin decor. The Bogachiel runs a stone's throw from the spacious outdoor deck. We'll loved our stay and will definitely be back.

I was FINALLY able to stay here and it was 100 percent worth the wait! Trent and Mary Beth are wonderful host. Along with their staff. Theresa was such a delight to talk to in the morning as well. I enjoyed conversations with them all. Everything was amazing. The room was super cozy. The bed was probably the most comfortable i've ever slept on, besides mine at home. The view was great. The homemade breads were amazing in the morning. Everything was very well kept and very clean. Relaxing on the porch or the swing reading the twilight book was great. Also, they have the movies there so you can watch them in your room if you would like to. We watched them all while staying there and it feels so different when you're actually in the location. The house is within walking distance of town. It's right up the road. That was nice and convenient. The whole place is a vibe. From the house to the city of Forks itself. I'm truly missing it now that i'm back in the hustle bustle of a big city. I'm already trying to plan a return visit. It was great to curl up on the couch with wine and a movie after a long, cold, wet day of hiking in Olympic National Park. The kitchen is updated and fully stocked, even had spices and such. There's a small dining area where we ate breakfast every morning. The price is great and way below any of the waterfront "resorts" I also found online. We ended up driving past some of the other places I considered and they looked like dumps. Our house was adorable and actually probably the nicest house in town, from what we witnessed. The location is unbeatable for trips into the Rainforest and Olympic National Park. Port Angeles is a quick 45-60 minute drive if you need a "city." The drive from Seattle airport to Forks is beautiful and was definitely a great part of our trip. A note on Forks, WA: This place is weird. Of course I'm aware of the Twilight phenomenon and the role Forks plays. There is NOTHING here. There are a couple of poor to mediocre restaurants. A main street with some everyday shops, hardware stores, and bizarre Twilight themed shops. We didn't spend any time in the town except for a couple dinners. We found Pacific Pizza to be the least disappointing. We would totally stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends.

A Wonderful Stay at Manitou Lodge in the Heart of the Forest…read more Our family stayed at Manitou Lodge in March, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The drive through the forest to get there was stunning--lush greenery and breathtaking scenery--but do be aware that it gets very dark at night. Thankfully, the lodge itself was well-lit, making it easy to find our way and locate our room. We stayed in a double room inside the main lodge, and the setup was perfect. The entrance to our room was conveniently located off the main lodge area, making it easy to come and go. The space was cozy and well-equipped, with a dining area, a small fridge/freezer, a microwave, and in-room coffee--always a nice touch! Dishes and silverware were provided, which was great for quick meals, though if you're staying more than a day, just note that there isn't a dedicated spot for washing them. Beyond the accommodations, the entire atmosphere of Manitou Lodge and its surroundings was simply magical. Nestled deep in the forest outside of Forks, it felt like a peaceful retreat, yet it was also a fantastic home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Everywhere we went, from the lodge to the nearby landscapes, was absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay surrounded by nature, Manitou Lodge is an excellent choice. Have Wayne tell you about salmon fishing in the river or let him show you what his smart little dog "Panda" can do! Angie is a wonderful cook and accommodated my husband's gluten intolerance. Many of the items for breakfast were fresh and right out their garden! You should see the size of their raspberry plants! Wayne and Angie were also very helpful when we were trying to find a good place to eat dinner and they also gave us the most perfect location to go tide pooling! It doesn't come with breakfast though, so be forewarned! I stayed in the nautical room with a half bath and two twin beds. It was perfect for me and I slept well. I was a bit jealous of my co-worker in the quilt room because he had a jacuzzi! Unfortunately, the hostess Sandy was called away for an emergency, so we never got to meet her. She had a friend step in to help check us in and make us breakfast. She did a great job, especially on short notice. I actually would love to go back in the summer with my own family to explore the area and enjoy Sandy's hospitality all over again. The town itself was pretty much closed down since we visited in December. I bet it is more happening in the summer. Bring your own lunch and dinner foods or else your options will be limited to gas station food in the winter.
