Rainy Bliss! Forks receives more annual rainfall than almost anywhere. If that doesn't bother you, Olson's couldn't be a better option for your next getaway! Gil and Hope are more than accommodating and truly care about their property. The cabins are thoughtfully designed and cozy. Forks as a town will forever be still stuck in Twilight mode, but hey- who doesn't love a pizza named after a fictional vampire!? read more

We wanted to go out to the peninsula for an affordable, nature-oriented vacation, but we're not "camping people," so this cabin was an awesome find. For $90 a night (2010), you get a one bedroom cabin with a queen and twin bed in the bedroom, a hide-a-bed in the living space, a nice sized kitchen, bathroom, and a little nook with a bookcase (including the full Twilight series for you Twi-hards out there). Everything was working well, finished nicely, basically nicer than my apartment in Seattle. :) There was also a fire pit and a grill outside. The only slight downside was that it is right next to a road to Rialto Beach, so there was some traffic, but it is not one of the more populated places, so it wasn't too bad. (and the silver lining is you are right by the road to Rialto Beach! just a couple of miles away.) It was still much, much quieter There are no other cabins on this property, just the home of the owners, who were super nice and really inobtrusive. They even had a super sweet cat who would stop for some cuddles. Just don't pick him up. All in all, we needed a week without cell phones, internet, and chatter, but being city kitties we still needed running water, comfortable places to sleep, a fridge and a stove, etc. so this was perfect. They did have satellite TV, so we sneaked a few shows in (I mean, enough is enough when the season premiere of Project Runway is on!). This would be a great place for a small family, as well. read more

I stayed here in summer 2012 so I'm REALLY late in posting this but want to make sure I do! I stayed at the Mora Cabin #2 by myself. It was bliss. This cabin has a gigantic walk-in shower with beautiful tile and overall nice bathroom. The bedroom has a queen sized bed that is comfortable with a quilt that reminded me of staying over at grandma's house with a dresser. The combo living/kitchen space is small and sweet. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and a small island to use in preparation with a microwave, fridge and stove. There's a flatscreen TV - I didn't use it since I was not going to use any technology on my trip. The dining table seated four and the small couch and comfy chair were just right. The patio had a beanbag my stepson loved with a BBQ and chairs. There is also a firepit and firewood was available on request. The family stayed at a nearby campsite, and I was at the cabin for medical reasons. When they came over to the cabin, there was plenty of room outside for the kids to run around and play. The owners were a delight to work with from start to finish. When my stepdaughter had an accident on their cushioned chair, I was mortified. I was afraid that we'd have to buy a new chair. The owner wasn't frustrated at all and said that she'd take care of it. She also came by once to check on me to see how I was doing. The next time I go to Rialto Beach, I will be staying here again. read more

The perfect place to stay after a 170 mile bike ride. For some reason I have to make this longer so I'll just put in some filler here.

This cozy little place is perfectly located as a jumping off spot for Olympic Peninsula adventures. Rialto Beach, Hoh Rain Forest and Ruby Beach are all nearby. A short drive to Forks will get you stocked up on groceries. There are many great hikes and fishing nearby. Hope and Gil, the hosts, are friendly and accommodating. We stayed in cabin 2, which was perfect for the two of us and our pup, but there is room for one more adult or a couple of kids. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I loved our stay at Olson's Cabins. The place was lovely, clean, and spacious and exactly what we were looking for. It was halfway between Rialto Beach and Forks which made it the perfect place to relax in solitude while being close enough to both places to still enjoy them quickly. The owners were very friendly too and came over to introduce themselves, make sure we were comfortable and then give us some recommendations for places in town. Cabin #2 is a little taste of heaven. It is the perfect getaway spot for an active relaxing, and/or romantic weekend in the woods. It's quite secluded and private, and the hosts gave us total privacy for the whole 4 days we stayed there, only coming to the fence when we did first. The closest hike is literally ONE mile away, in the National Park just down the road. Rialto Beach is a little farther down the road, and it's a serious must see. It's a total 'bucket list' type hike, but be sure you are going outside of high tide hours (google it!). Hike to 'Hole in the Wall' and check out the ocean life. Oh yeah, the cabin. We stayed in Cabin 2. It's newer and more secluded than #1, which is very near the road and more visible. #2 is quite new (as of 4/14), and it shows. It looks like one of the little IKEA model apartments, "Living in 350 square feet!" There is a nice little kitchen area with a dorm-style micro/fridge, full stove and oven, plenty of dishes and cookware, but no spices or other similar staples. The sitting area has a comfy futon couch and a bean bag. There is a cute, small dining room table under a mounted flatscreen tv with satellite tv. The bed is comfortable and the bedding was clean. The bathroom was large and clean, with a classy walk-in shower. Everything is very sunny and airy, due to the plentiful windows and tall, tall ceilings. There's a great covered patio with nice chairs, and a grill (bring your own coals, starter fluid, etc.). We used the bbq one evening and two enormous and adorable rabbits appeared and hung out with us on the porch for a while, before moving on to eat all the beautiful landscaping features (I bet they hate those rabbits, but we loved 'em!). Parking is in the rocky driveway in front of the cabin, so it feels pretty accessible for those with some moderate mobility challenges. Our only wishes for the place: a broom, so we could sweep the sand/dirt/bugs out, and a speaker system that we could plug our phones/iPods into. The owners' dogs run around the fence that is near Cabin 2 and sometimes bark, but that didn't bug us at all since it didn't happen early or late. If you hate dogs this could be a dealbreaker, I suppose. In addition to nearby Rialto Beach, we took a road trip to the Makah Indian Reservation at Neah Bay. That takes about an hour, and it's a beautiful drive. Eat at Pat's Place, and definitely walk through the Makah Museum (both loved by Yelpers). The cabin makes for a great home base for all kinds of adventure, and it's also a great place to hang out at all day and night. We'll definitely be back. read more

We stayed in the #2 Mora cabin for a few nights on a recent trip to the coast. It is a cozy little modern cabin nestled back in the woods. It's perfect for a couple or possibly for three people who don't mind that the bathroom is through the bedroom. There is a fully stocked kitchen as well as a gas fireplace for the chilly nights. They also offer satellite tv and wifi which is nice for down time. Hope and Gil were both friendly and accommodating. If you need anything at all they live right down a short gravel road and can take care of it. It was extremely peaceful and quiet! Be sure to watch your step for the little resident slugs and frogs that enjoy the beautiful garden out front. It was awesome to watch these guys munch on some flowers. The location also can't be beat. You're a short drive to most of the coastal beaches and about an hour and a half from the Hoh rainforest. read more

This is the second time we've stayed at the Olson's Cabins. They have 4 in all and each are big enough to accommodate just about any family. It's close enough to Forks if you need to make a trip to the grocery store but far out enough to enjoy total peace and quiet. We stayed in the HOH house our first trip with a group of seven and it was very comfortable. This visit we rented the Mora cabins 2 and 3. The cabins are a short drive to Rialto Beach and a little over and hour to the rainforest. The WiFi is a little spotty but who needs it when you're surrounded by so much beauty. Hope and Gil are awesome. They made sure we had everything we needed and then some. If you're planning a trip to the Olympic Peninsula this is the perfect location! read more

Tried to book a room with Gil at Olson's Cabins today. Unfortunately, we had to call with only a couple days notice, so we missed out on the room that we wanted...no big deal. The next room was $35 more, and with the pet fee, it was just out of our price range...again, no big deal. After speaking with the nicest gentleman (Gil) on the phone, I told him that I would call him back after I talked it over with my wife. She suggested that I ask about a military discount (we are active duty military), as many places offer them. And if not, since the room hadn't been booked for the weekend yet, and since it IS the off season, maybe they would wave the pet fee and bring it a little closer to our budget. No harm in asking, right? WRONG! I called back and asked about the military discount...nope. "No problem", I say. Gil then starts explaining what a good deal it is, and that he is related to someone in the military, and how the Native Americans in the area are getting all of these Federal subsidies, and so on and so forth. I then made the mistake of telling him that I am sure that his property is worth every penny of his asking price, but that I only have so much money allocated to spend on this. At this point he really gets going and starts telling me how much the other properties are going for, more about the 'Injins' and their marina, and how nothing has been good for people around there like 'The Movie' (Twilight) has. He then tells me that "I get really insulted when a military person would have the nerve to call and ask for a discount without knowing the local state of things"! He then went on with "how dare I" and so on and so forth. I then tried to explain that he was going a bit overboard, and that I was only ASKING...nicely at that! Gil kept on interrupting me the whole time I tried to explain ANYTHING! And needless to say, the whole nice guy act quickly vanished. I ended up hanging up on him, as he started ranting again. I sent him an email too trying to explain that I was not trying to insult him, I was just asking about a very commonly found discount (something that is appreciated by military members, but not expected). In closing, I told him that I have pretty much had it with the terrible service, WRETCHED food, and crazy people on the West Coast of Wa (aka, "the Twilight Zone, as the signs every P.O.S. gas station and crappy trinket shop proudly display). Good luck with all that, people....they can only make so many sequels to that crappy movie! Anyway, I think we are headed down to Oregon's coast for the weekend instead. read more

Booked it by phone. Gave my credit card number for deposit, and received a confirmation email. Three days later, receive another email -- here it is, in full: "Hello Phillip- Regretfully, due to a record keeping error, we must cancel your July 11 & 12 reservation. We have refunded the $110.00 deposit to your American Express card ending in 2004. We are sincerely sorry and apologize for any inconvenience-" Some things wrong with this: 1) The reason given is pretty unbelievable. I see from other Yelp reviews that the same thing happened to them. Either the records there are kept by a monkey, or the owners are simply canceling reservations when they find a better opportunity, such as someone wanting to stay longer or pay more. 2) No offer of any credit for a future stay. Such a unilateral cancellation suggests that they're not really sorry, and that this is par for the course. Goes hand-in-hand with #1. 3) This was just a single notice by email -- not a phone call, even though I called to make the initial reservation. Email is neither real-time nor reliable. Maybe I won't check my email for two weeks. Maybe the email was misfiled into junk mail, or maybe it was even silently deleted by the server if it's considered junky enough. When canceling a reservation, the least they can do is call. 4) My name is misspelled. Come on. read more

Without a doubt the best place to stay in Forks, WA. Hope and Gil make you feel right at home (yes, it is owned by an adorable couple) and both times we have visited they have made us feel right at home. The cabins are simply enchanted in my opinion but that could also be in part to the located of the cabins. It's truly a Twilight experience. The residents of this quaint little town made famous by the movie are as friendly as you would expect and the area is a perfect getaway from the busy city life. Olson's Cabins are the best for peace and quiet. Since the first time I visited there have been additions made to the place with a couple of new cabins but not overcrowded at all. If you are ever in the Forks, WA area stay here. read more

I am totally in disbelief of the other persons review... My husband and I have stayed in their Mora #2 cabin on multiple occasions over the past two years and have NEVER had a negative experience with either of the owners. The cabin itself is a great little cabin and priced extremely well! You get a full, updated kitchen, a queen sized memory foam mattress in the bedroom and a full sized futon in the livingroom. There is a beautiful gas fireplace as well. They are dog friendly, and even remember our dog from past visits. On this visit Mrs Olson actually came out and greeted our lab. We totally recommend staying here, I'm not sure if the previous poster rubbed the owner the wrong way with his request for a lower rate or what but rest assured that on our multiple stays here we have NEVER had ANY issues with the owners! The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because there's no tub in the.cabin and I looovveee relaxing in a bubble bath...however the shower is great here! (It's HUGE..!) As for western Washington residents... again we have had no issues staying here, going to restaurants, museums etc. I think you get what you give and the above poster perhaps has an abrasive approach to people. read more

Completely ignore the other review giving this cabin 1 star, as it is obviously biased toward the reviewer's experience with the owner. This place was fantastic. We took a loop tour of the Olympic area and wanted to stop somewhere about halfway from Seattle and back, heading from the south and looping around. We were extremely fortunate that there was availability on a Saturday in August at Cabin #2. So I booked it because the rest of the state was full...and I'm so glad we did. First, upon arrival the manager (Gill) was there to meet us and gave us a complete tour. The cabin is very private, located on a large piece of land. No other tourists, no screaming kids, etc etc that we saw while visiting the popular places along the loop (Crescent Lake Lodge, and the likes). The cabin was brand new, small but perfect. New appliances, gigantic walk in shower, fireplace, and panoramic windows. Outside you have acres of beautiful grassland, with a built in fire pit (we made a huge fire and roasted marshmallows), a covered patio with a table and Weber grill (we grilled steaks and had a wonderful dinner), picnic tables, hoses, and just a fantastic scene. We brought two dogs with us and they were thrilled. Gill has 3 friendly dogs that occasionally come up to the fence by Cabin 2's property and they got along fine. The inside of the cabin is fantastic. It's small for sure...2 people, maybe 3. But there are details there...running ceiling windows, fans, fireplace, satellite TV (we never turned it on), and get this...a Tempurpedic mattress! Our sleep was so comfortable! A five minute drive takes you to Rialto beach which was beautiful, see other reviews for that. A note on the customer service...we realized we had forgotten toothpaste, and so I called Gill and his wife answered. I asked the closest place to go shopping (it's Forks BTW which is 20 minutes) and no sooner had I finished this question then she arrived at the cabin with samples of toothpaste and floss. The price was wonderful...$120 for a night in the busy season. It was better than many 4-5 star hotels I've been in. We will be back, for sure. I can't speak to Cabin #1 but I will say this was one of, if not the best, one night cabin stay I've experienced. read more

Our 2015 Thanksgiving trip to the NW coast was centered around the comfortable, clean (spotless!) and warm Olson's #2 Mora cabin. The photos posted online show how nice it is, and when you see it in person it's even better. A very well built little cabin that feels spacious. The combination of the electric heat and propane fireplace kept us warm even when we woke up to 20 degrees and sparkling frost. We had a friendly greeting from our host Hope when we arrived and privacy during our stay. The cabin was well stocked, and everything worked. Our Thanksgiving was a fillet of delicious fresh smoked coho salmon from La Push and a beautiful Rialto Beach walk. Staying at Olson's made for a very memorable trip. read more
