This was our first time driving into Duluth through Superior Wisconsin so we had to make a stop at Pattison State Park. Our favorite view of the Big Falls was from the parking area across the street from the park entrance ( you still need a park permit to park there). Short hike to the viewing area and they also have a selfie station to get a great picture in front of the falls. The colors were beautiful as we came in the fall time but I would love to come back in the spring to see the falls raging!

The bathrooms were clean for the most part but the showers were kind of gross- however some of that was due to other campers. They are also in the process of building a new shower/bathroom facility. The most standout part of our stay however was Ranger Chris. He was incredibly nice and helpful, especially towards my 5 year old who always has about a million questions and observations. Ranger Chris hooked him up (pun intended) with a series of much treasured "fish cards" and a neat activity book that we had fun completing as a family so my boy could earn a Wisconsin patch. He also was helpful on giving us the most logical pricing options. About the location: this is located downtown inside the adventure zone building. You will need to find parking and most likely pay to park either on the street or the lot. Looks are deceiving. It looks small from the outside but there was plenty of wall and a back area for bouldering. There was also a seating area upstairs. Along with Ben, Anthony helped us get set and both were very patient and friendly with our group. We had many first time climbers and they both encouraged them and made them feel comfortable. Thank you so much for the amazing experience. Many of our youth said it was a highlight of the weekend.

Everything ran as smoothly as possible. Check in was quick and flawless. The workers were interactive with the kids and encouraging. They challenged the kids that were looking for challenges and they were so helpful to the kids that were hesitant to climb. It is always a great experience for our 8th graders and I recommend anyone with middle schoolers, looking for a fun and challenging activity, to go to Vertical Endeavors.

Walking into the curling club you get this classic ballroom vibe that overlooks the club. You walk past the overlook of the lanes and you hit this little bar. Everything about this room makes you feel like you belong to the club and you have curled for years. The tables have signatures from special events held there. There are locals always there ready to talk shop and help spread the love of the game. So at least go a have a beer, grab some food and watch some skips and sweepers! Curling for beginners! I got the best crash course from the great staff/ experienced curlers. I can't express my gratitude of how patient they were on each detail and every step to overall get our team to be able to PLAY a game! They started us off by explaining some rules and etiquette. I have never curled before so this was a first for me. They taught us how to push off from the block. Slide the rocks back and forth. Teach us the lingo and hand signals. How to "curl " the rock and the correct way to sweep. Then after we got the basics out of the way, they taught us how to score. We got to play and it was an absolute blast. I was using mussels I didn't know I had. It's so easy to get into it. We got so competitive. Once we got a rock in the area you were actually supposed to. We were all Jacked. It's was a lot of bonding that we needed and something that I can't wait to do again.
