It's a pretty nice layout but the niceties end there. Greens chunky, sandy a.nd overall in bad shape. Very very few nice areas (short cut grass) on the course. Too expensive for what you get. It does have a driving range, short range and putting surface. The driving range adequate. Don't remember if they had distances marked off. Did not make it to putting surface but with those greens probably not very indicative. I'd rather play my 9 hole course in Caldwell (Cotteras) and it's two hours closer. Did not make it into the clubhouse. No water on the course and no carts. Place looks like it's dying to me. Last but not least no marshalling. Front nine in just over 3 hours. Finally picked up and moved ahead of a group of 5 that was holding up everyone all day. After one hole never saw them again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would I called ahead to book a tee time for a group of 7, and the guy at the front desk personally confirmed it was all set--no issues, come on out. We drove 30 minutes to get there, excited for a day on the course, only to arrive and be told they could "no longer uphold" our reservation. No explanation, no apology, and zero effort to make it work. This kind of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially for a public course that's already struggling with its reputation. Course is already poorly managed explains the staffs poor customer service, younger front desk guy said he doesn't have enough carts when we looked outside they had 20+ carts and barely any people playing on course. Came here on a Monday afternoon because my normal course is closed on Mondays, and I had an itch to play. Never again. Staff was rude, made me pay for 18, but I had to bring my cart back early so they could go home. The greens are half dirt. Some cart boy will come drive on the fairway while you're attempting to tee off, while you wonder how you found yourself at this pathetic excuse for a place to play golf. This course is awful and over priced for what it is, you pay for 18 and after 8 they force u to return the cart because they "want to go home". The women at the front desk is stuck up and the rudest women iv ever met. There where children at the driving range with not golf attire, I went to by range balls and she said if I didn't wear a collar shirt I can't hit the range. So after seeing the teenagers with no collar shirts I just changed my shirt for about 10 minutes to cool down and I was gonna change it back. She came out and tried to kick us off after I pojnted to kids with no collar shirt she said it doesn't matter. Horrible horrible horrible course do not go. read more

Played here many times and it's always up and down. However, my last experience was the worst. How can you charge my 4yr old son $24 to be a cart rider (when he obviously is not playing). Second, I understand there has been some not so fair weather. So course is not going to be in great shape. But due to amount of holes that have severe hog damage and greens that are simply NOT playable. $68 dollars to play and have my son sit in the cart, would have been better spent at a TOP GOLF. read more

The greens have been absolutely horrible for the last 4 months. I have only used this location for the driving range until today. Now the range has become equally bad. The mats ( required ) are covered in dirt and mud. Only a handful of mats are worth using. Today they removed all the relatively new range balls, leaving only the 5 yr old garbage balls. Where do I start? My best friend comes back to our hometown and I decide that we should go golfing, we were originally scheduled at West Fork but ended up getting sent over here because of flooding. We were disrespected, overcharged, lied to, and all to play on this sad excuse for a golf course. I can understand the fairways being a bit soggy, I can even understand the sad old woman at the front desk with nothing better to do than have a bad attitude. What I don't understand is how this place still has customers. Don't come here by any means. You'd spend less and have a better time at Top Golf. read more

I booked a tee time for 8:45 this morning through the online portal. We booked for 2 players to play 18 holes for $46. When we arrived we were told that only 9 holes were open and that they would not send off 2 players alone but we had to wait for another player or twosome to arrive. There was hardly anyone at the course at the time. Members started arriving while we were still in the clubhouse. They had no tee time but were sent off right away. How can we book a tee time and then be denied playing? How can you sell a nine hole course for $46 and not make it clear during the booking process that the course only has 9 holes open? We have played at RP many times in the past. We will not play there again. read more

I was in town visiting family and our Airbnb was on the golf course so we decided to play a round during our stay. I was hesitant to play since there were already lots of negative reviews but decided to give the course a shot. I had heard that this course was hit hard by flooding with Hurricane Harvey and has struggled since. All 18 greens were playable, rolling good, and definitely not sandboxes like other reviews have described. I would say the overall condition of the course was average. Our only complaint was the pace of play. We played as a threesome and tee'd off at 10:45 and walked off the 18th green at 3:30 (almost 5 hours). We waiting at every tee box on the front 9 and then it was smooth sailing for the back 9. Most of the groups in front of us quit at the turn. That being said, pace of play at any public course on a Saturday is hardly ever on pace so weren't that surprised that it took so long. Would play there again! read more

Old country club gone public. One of the 9's is no longer maintained/played on. Very run down entrance, parking lot, etc. How on earth they charge $56 on a weekend for this course is beyond me. The surfaces are a joke to charge that much. A few buddies and I contemplated joining the membership with Oakhurst and West Fork. This course is by far the worst of the three unfortunately. I do not recommend playing here for more than $40. read more

I live on hole 18 and I cant stop doing donuts on the green, it is so bad filled with sand. I do the donuts in a hope they'd redo it, but they haven't. I keep blaming it on some teenagers and reporting it and it just doesn't work. read more

The layout is fun and it's an easy course to get around fairly quickly... also, decent range... but: 1) THE GREENS - I have no idea what they've allowed to happen, but they seem to all be severely infected with something, and they are almost un-puttable. I don't understand how this is allowed to happen... 2) $49.99 per person - are you kidding? Sorry, but when you have a situation going on with your greens and the course and surrounding area are obviously in a state of recovery (presumably still from Harvey), you'd better be ready to swallow hard and discount golf in order to get some play. 3) They clearly do not take the COVID-19 situation seriously at all. Absolutely no precautions are being taken on the part of the golf course.but seriously folk, THE GREENS... awful. And for any real golfer, having terrible greens and clearly no idea how to maintain or care for them is a cardinal sin. I'll follow up with pics... they have to be seen to be believed! Every few months I'll re-review as I am hopeful that they'll get this situation under control. If the greens improve or the price improves to reflect the situation, my review will improve. read more

Don't waste your money playing this course. At one time it was maintained well and playing conditions were good. The last several years the fairways and greens are horrendous! Worst greens I've ever played!!! I recently called the course manager and he assured me the conditions had improved since adding a new course superintendent. This was the worst golf course I have ever played on. It was over 100 degrees outside and they had no Carte ladies or water stations.you can't fully use the driving rang because it is so short. The greens had more sand on it than the beach's of Galveston. The sand traps where as hard as concrete. All of the photos on line have more filters than instagram models. Greens are very rough. I'm 17 and make 4 figures and they still did not give me a cart. There were pedestrians standing on the course like physically in the fairway filming and watching. Course is in rough shape with over half the greens that are more dirt than grass. Poor fairway and bunker management and has been this way for years.But that's the least of it....8 minute intervals for tee times, so your round will take 5+ hours at minimum. And then today, after years of going here I was told to leave because of not having a collard shirt to practice at the range. Yet I was wearing a nice Nike dri fit golf shirt without a collar. Just to hit at the range. Even being a member and spending thousands of dollars here. Yet its ok for girls to wear without collars or sleeves but not guys. Bit of a double standard I'd say, let alone it being 95degrees out with 100% humidity. What a mess. What should have been a pleasant summer day on the course was a nightmare. The marshal would be better suited as a rent a cop at a Chucky E Cheese (and I only say that because Chuck E Cheese is now closed ). First off, he had a face mask but didn't wear it over his mouth when he approached our group less than 6 feet?!Second, he complained that our pace of play of 3hr :45 mins was too slow? WTF? Our foursome shot an average of 6 over on this dog track and finished in under 4 hours...wouldn't think this is slow?? He basically hounded people on the course ...for no reason. I wasn't expecting the course to be in great shape for the money .....I would hit there again ...as soon as they fire that Marshal..... ps. The lady at the pro shop was pleasant...so they got that going for them ...which is nice. Lol read more

The course was in very good shape. Greens were great. I played Augusta to Biloxi and both nines had a nice layout, with plenty of challenging shots. Plenty of room to hit your tee shots, but the fairways are cut pretty narrow. So, even though it's not that tight, if you're not accurate, you will be playing from the rough a lot. The greens putted very true and pretty slick. Friendly staff throughout. Worth paying a little more than average. The course conditions were well worth it. Where do I begin? If I could give 0 stars I would. I can't say I have ever been treated courteous or witness good customer service from the staff. They always seem to have an attitude and a superior, "I'm better than you" mindset. You work at a public golf course...in CONROE...get over your selves. I did enjoy playing this course at first in 2016 as it was a great value for a round of 18. So I put up with the poor service. I have brought a few friends to play at this course and all have noticed the poor service. My wife purchased a players card for me to use in 2017. I was able to use it for two buckets of range balls. And left about 9 rounds on the card useless due to the change in ownership. I was told, "Yeah, you got ripped off if you bought that card, the new owner doesn't accept it." I'm not paraphrasing this, I was literally told this by the attendant in the "Pro Shop". What a way to do business? The last straw was when I was at the range and was harassed for going to grab a few more range balls. When I first used this course I was told I could help myself to as many range balls as I wanted. I guess that's not the case anymore. I'm not upset with that rule as it makes good business sense. But if you change rules or have new policies please train your staff to relay those changes in a polite manner or at least put up a sign. The guy couldn't even come up to me, he yelled across the patio like a scared little dog. The new ownership has also removed the club from Golf Now which was very useful to keep traffic on the course. This is a discount course, not a private course. New ownership is setting themselves up for failure with allowing their staff to mistreat customers and not honoring past discounts and programs that were purchased and are treated as unearned revenue. I know I'm not the only one who is unhappy with this course because the weekends look pretty light even with beautiful weather. The only reason I will return to this course is to blast driver and clear as many balls as possible over the extremely weak driving range. I may buy multiple buckets until they kick me off of the range. We'll see. As for now, don't waste you time going to this place. Thanks, Brandon read more

After reading the reviews I feared the worst for this course. I was desperate for a round and they had tee times, so myself and friend took the gamble. I enjoyed my round here, The greens are in a bad state but some weren't too bad. The rest of the course is in good condition. Bunkers need some tlc. For $50 the greens should be in a better state. Fabulous venue for our wedding! This is the venue we chose for our event, and I must say that the staff and venue were five star worthy, hands down. Location - if you live in this area it's perfect. If not, like some of our guests, we had everyone stay in the Woodlands at the Marriott and Hyatt. It's a gorgeous little area and there are lots of things to do nearby, such as the Woodlands and Lake Conroe. Venue - the grounds are gorgeous and the golf course is nice for those that play. The inside is very nice and elegant, and looks stunning at night with the large windows. The wedding planner on staff, Edith, does an amazing job. They can decorate the place however you like. Staff - Michelle Crain, the manager, was fabulous to work with. Edith was an angel, and the chef was like having a personal chef. I felt like we had the red carpet treatment the entire time! they thought of everything and so much more than I could have, it really was like having a whole team of planners at my side. The food - this was the best part! The chef created custom dishes for our event and we received so many compliments on our food - that never happens at weddings, so I was so grateful! They even have a DJ if you need one and he does a great job. Other nice part was we had the entire venue to ourselves the whole night, and were able to take over the whole downstairs dressing area, so my bridal party and I had a huge party before the big party. It was seriously fabulous! I can't say enough praise for this place and Michelle Crain, they just really gave us a wedding that was better than I could ever dream of. Thank you RP! read more
