Pros: SJR - runs along the edge of this park and has multiple spots for you and the family to hang out and cool down from the summer sun. We take our kids multiple times a month and they love it! Playground area - very clean and this set is awesome for bigger kids but isn't fit for young toddlers. There's also a workout area with all types of equipment if you're looking for a good free workout. There's also a basketball court, horseshoe area, soccer field, walking trail and frisbee golf course (18 holes). Pavilion - The large pavilion can be rented out and is located conveniently located near the parking lot. Seating areas - there are several shaded picnic areas throughout the park with grills. Cons: Location - the traffic in this area is starting to pick up quickly so exiting this park can be a daunting task especially during the hours of 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Also if this area is known to flood easily! If you're looking for somewhere free to take your family and enjoy the outdoors check out McDade park!

Funny story, online it showed as one of the view points for sunset…read more Headed out armed with to- go dinner only to realize its a sunRISE park ... but, the park itself did not disappoint, it has a very welcome vibe to it with several nets, and teenagers playing volleyball, beachball and just having fun......., it made me soo happy to see these traditional team sports on a cool summer evening ..... reminded me of my own growing days.... There is a water front too and people were fishing and a whole lot of ducks were on their evening flying routine..... Its a small park, with considerable parking. Its adjacent to the Boat House, so that is another sport to engage in with family or friends. You can even bring your own paddle boats. A Happy Park overall.

As a child, I have seen real elephants in old temples, they don't have them anymore. Other than that its been zoo and safari. But this was different.... Kennedy introduced himself as the guy who was taking care of animals since 5 generations and he is studying to be a vet. The main mahout was a small guy and he was hilarious. He did most of the talking about all the animals. These elephants are rescue elephants which have been handed over by the zoo for various reasons, or, so I understand. There are 3 elephants Paige with longest teeth, Jeanie with a little short ones , and Krissy with none. With poaching increasing, the number of Krissy's are increasing. That will keep them safe I guess. Not sure why the previous reviews are so brief. We got to learn about them, feed them carrots, even phones if u r willing to give away ( ha ha- Paige really seemed to want them), how to keep their foot and nails in shape, bathing them so on and so forth. This was the first time I had heard a live trumpet and it was adorable. In the end we posed for pics. They are tamed and trained no doubt, but seemed to be enjoying our company and well treated by their owners. They have plenty of parking. Tickets are purchased online, most often they are open only one weekend a month. Restrooms are available. Food not allowed, but a bottle of water is ok. Got to meet Abu the camel, his partner, a zebra and a billy goat and his family too. I wanted to hold one and did not know how to- one of the helper guys I approached said just pick them up and hold - really ! Then some other fellow visitor helped.

We got to feed the camels and hold the baby goats. We also got to feed the elephants and touch them and bath them . They give plenty of chances to take pictures and everything is orderly and well run. They ensure safety of the guests and you can tell the elephants and animals are well taken care of. The entrance was kinda of hard to spot as the sign is kinda small but we found it! Come here if you love animals and learning about animals. Great for families and couples.
