I've popped in and out of this shop through the years. It's fairly easy to purchase a quick, delicious gift that says it's quintessentially from "Savannah". Today not only was I able to pick up pralines to take to relatives in Kansas, but the friendly, cheery efficient customer service was A+. I'm a frequent customer of your location and today when I got there, I was told since there's no ramp there, I need to let someone know and I would be assisted. Today I asked a new lady to help me out and one of her coworkers came out and said theyre not allowed to that anymore. It is against the law for them to tell me they cant help me because of my wheelchair. This was Abigail Rivers that didn't want to help me. Personal feelings aside, if I'm trying to bring revenues to your business, you should help me an it's illegal to not help. It is by law that they have to help me out. This is not the first time I've had to speak to someone about y'all's accomodation issues. Mrs. Rivers honestly has something against me. Personal feelings aside I'm trying to bring revenues. My family and I took a trip to Savannah for the first time. After eating some horrible seafood we found this place and stopped in to look at the candy. I was pretty impressed with the variety of candy. They had samples of the homemade cookies and candies they make right there. My husband and I stopped in on our last day in Savannah, and boy, we wish we had stopped in here every day. We were greeted with a free sample of their homemade Pralines! Super yummy! Then we moved on to what was in the cases. My husband immediately got the chocolate covered rice krispy treats (yes, you read that right) while I got a few milk chocolate caramel truffles. Everything was super yummy and did not last long once it was back at the AIRBNB. We will definitely be back again! read more

Ok. So this is a local "must stop". I chose this location as opposed to the original downtown because I'm mobility impaired and you can park right in front. Downtown is a nightmare for a person walking with a cane. The people here are what make this place. Southern hospitality to a T. We tried a free sample of the praline, purchased light & dark. We also purchased the dark chocolate bear claws, dark chocolate covered almond clusters too. They are all delicious. The bear claws are my favorite. Now comes the hard, honest truth if you are not a southerner...the chocolate itself is exceedingly sweet. They LOVE their sugar (and salt...another subject) in the south. I can imagine a European coming in and trying the dark chocolate and not liking it. I'm a transplant from the north. I'm used to less of a sugary confection approach. This all is SEVERELY sweet. One per day sweet. But, that's how they roll in the south. I read other reviews where there were complaints about price. I don't agree. I think there's a lot of work going into a hand made treat and it's a fair price. You want cheap? Go to Walmart. But, you won't get this quality. read more

I've fallen in LOVE WITH THE PRALINES HERE, now that may not be good for my summer body but my taste buds could care less about that fact. Just the smell is intoxicating ( maybe the should come out with a cologne just saying ). Anyway if you like sweets then you need to stop reading this review and get down there as fast as you can. Both locations had terrible service. The employees at both location lacked manners and work ethic. Not friendly or patient in describing what was what. The pralines are very good, the rest of the chocolates that we got were ok. I couldn't take a picture or tell you what it was, the woman just threw it all in one bag and they kind of melted together. Although, I saw she had boxes not sure why she wrapped all of ours together and threw it in the bag. Probably won't be back. read more

If you're visiting family at the hospital (Memorial) or just passing through, make sure that your stay includes a treat for family and yourself. Granddaughters were very unenthused with their child Easter Baskets. The chocolate apparently melted in transit and the chocolate selection did not appeal to their younger tastes. This is a hidden gem. I visited this location to pick up a gift. They had what I wanted, but not the exact ratio that I had hoped. When I casually mentioned it to Celia Riddick, she gladly and quickly whipped up the exact gift I had imagined. She went above and beyond to make sure that I had the exact experience I wanted. I prefer the other location solely for the taffy making machine. This location is a bit on the small side and doesn't offer everything the store on River Street does but for the location I think they offer a lot. They even have a little party area towards the back and what could be better than having a birthday party in a candy store? read more

Stopped here en route to Charleston and wanted to pick up a gift for the family our son was visiting. We picked out a selection of pralines and other sweets to complete a basket. The young lady helping us was extremely helpful, kind and pleasant. Much to our surprise she went above and beyond by individually wrapping each item. This made for the perfect gift, and I understand the basket was very well received and didn't last very long. We also got a small box of pralines for ourselves and it lasted under 24 hours. I also had a small cup of blue moon ice cream while we waited. We enjoyed these pralines so much that we stopped by the other location to stock up on our return drive home. In-store experience was great and tasty. Unfortunately, we ordered online when we arrived home. What we received was NOT freshly made as described. EVERYTHING was PRE-PACKAGED and sitting around on a shelf:( The ingredients were listed on the pre-packaged items and they were NOT fresh/wholesome ingredients as described!!! Using corn syrup and Polysorbate 80 is not FRESH quality ingredients!!! I was expecting butter...not corn syrup or soybean or hydrogenated oil!!! The staff is always warm and friendly at this store but the candy is the star attraction. If you're a visitor to Savannah or never been, (unless you're diabetic), don't deprive yourself of at least a sample of pecan pralines. OMG, they are so-o-o-o-o scrumptious! The holy grail of Southern candy cuisine...even New Orleans can't offer better. (Cuz I've eaten them there too, so I know.) You can get salt water taffy, gummies and Jelly Belly beans in your favorite flavors. Glazed pecans, sugar and spice pecans,peanut brittle, fudge, caramel apples, turtles, whatever your sweet tooth desires they're sure to have. BUT- don't forget the pralines to take back with you. You'll be putting them on your Christmas wish list. They are pricey, but as thousands of people already know- so worth it. I ship at least a pound half way around the world at least once a year. This is convenient if you don't plan or want to visit the Savannah waterfront where the original (and larger) store is. You can still (usually) watch the candy they are most famous for being made right before your eyes. The ultimate sweet treat retreat! read more
