We have been purchasing from Savannah Bee Company for years so every time we visit Savannah, we always stop in, but this time we were sad to see the honey we purchased comes from Montana, not Georgia. The staff was excellent - the two men were super helpful (we cant recall their names - Jordan might have been the name of one of them), even helping us fix an issue with our account so we got the points we earned while shopping there the day before. Prices are reasonable, the honey is so pure and amazing! The chapsticks are well made and we enjoy using them in the winter months, as they help with chapped lips very well! But Savannah Bee Company, why did you do away with the cheese honey?????i It was my favorite and so yummy - and no, the other honey doesn't go as well with cheese, despite what you say! Overall, its always nice to shop here and the staff are super helpful every single time. read more

We enjoyed tasting pours of six different meads as part of one of their flight offerings. Each pour is served individually and the bartender presents the can or bottle as well. I liked how she also offered us small glasses of water to cleanse the palate. The Pollen Nation mead, which has light bubbles and blueberry notes was our favorite of the group. Less loved were the Savannah Heat (tastes a bit like Mike's Hot Honey) and the Wild Berry which tastes like grape juice! Still, I was happy to give them all a try for the novelty factor. Very nice shop in Sedona downtown that stocks a number of rare and premium honey varietals! I was introduced to Tupelo and Sourwood honey here among others both of which are very distinctive. Tupelo has a bit of a Chinese medicinal taste to it, so it wasn't my favorite, but certainly worth a try to understand what it's like. Sourwood was incredibly tasty with a huge caramel note. I liked this one so much I went home with a bottle of the Gold Reserve Sourwood (lab tested in Germany to 99+% purity from what the folks at the counter told me). Most of the floral honey that I was introduced to before didn't really taste that much different from "regular" honey so I'm really glad that I found artisan honey that actually tastes different here! I would strongly recommend any honey lovers to come give it a try and find a new favorite. Definitely a very distinctive shop in Sedona downtown that stands apart from the rest in its product offerings and well worth a stop. read more

This is the original Savannah bee company store. I own their hot honey sold in Costco but never realized it was from the Savannah bee company until coming here! So cool. The costco price is so much better, of course, but you don't get to try and taste the rest. There is something for everyone here! For those with children, they have a cute little two story bee hive for children to play. It's a tad dark underneath but still cool. Parents will need to bend down to fit. They also have a video screen to see bees in their nest. From lip balms to soaps to whipped honey to mead and everything in between, you will find a useful and tasty souvenir. The honey comb looked really yummy, too. We tasted several honeys for free and hands down. The tupelo was my favorite. Made from a tree found in only 3 marsh lands in the US. Bright and flavorful. The saw palmetto honey (known for its medicinal properties) was my least favorite. I bought the little 3 oz jar for $9.50. It was a little pricey, but the flavor was unique and a useful souvenir. We also bought all their whipped honey varieties because I love it on toast! I've never tried mead before and was excited to see what the taste was like. Water, yeast, and honey. That's it! My sisters and I just wanted a taste, so we shared a flight. The mead cider flight was $17. They do not offer a free tasting and require you to purchase a flight of either their wine or cider. I ranked them: 1. XR Cyser (a delicious not too sweet apple pie flavor) 2. Nectar of the Hops 3. Rhythm and blues 4. Strawberry cream delight 5. Monks mead 6. Dispear (none of us wanted to finish the last sip of this one). I would only choose my top three to try again, and I did buy the XR Cyser because it was so delicious, and I've not had anything like it. $16 for the bottle, and they packed it nicely for travel. When checking out, we learned that the company originally sold in one fish two fish boutique shop down the road in wine bottles because the creator wanted to reduce waste and was picked up by Neiman Marcus then he sold wholesale for a while before this store. They still sell the wine bottle honey! (For a pretty penny). Clean bathroom with the company's honey soaps to use. However, no diaper changing table. read more

We did a guided tour experience. It came with a bee education workshop and a bee hive experience as well as a honey tasting of about 20 honeys. The man who did our tour was super kind and handled the youngins well! All of the honey was delicious!!!! It was all so so so yummy and I highly recommend. This company is great! They do so much environmental sustainability and other community charities. Such a good place to support. The outdoor portion with the bee suits and exploring the hives was great and the education portion was so interesting and informative about bees! Their honey is delicious! This is a must do visit for anyone in Savanah or even just near a Savanah bee company shop. read more

I had heard great things about the Savannah Bee Company and put it on our to-do list for our one day in Savannah. First of all, they have a sample section where you can try every item in the store. I absolutely love that, because I really love tasting the item before I commit to it. Staff were so nice about it and despite the fact that we tried 4 items, they kept asking if we wanted to try more. We ended up checking our bag home because I got so much honey. They also have a mead / alcohol tasting in the back, and I think you pay for that at at the register. They also have a ton of other bee/honey items in the store. Very cute. read more

What an amazing experience! We saw this place just walking down the River St strip and I made a mental note that we were gonna come back for a honey tasting. We finally got to stop by and I am so upset I didn't get any photos or videos but i was really living in the moment. First they had a free sample of honey comb with white sharp cheddar, strawberry and blueberry. When I tell you that was the most delectable bite I've ever had. It was savory, sweet, tart all in one bite. I wish I could have had 100 of those. Then we got to taste some honey. I tried the whipped honey with chocolate, cinnamon, and lemon. They were soooo delicious. If you have a piece of toast, it would provide the perfect flavor. My bf got me all 3 and I'm so happy. We also got to do a wine tasting of meads which I learned is just fermenting process with honey. We tasted 6 amazing meads and they let us try a carbonated one which was so good , we had to get a bottle . I don't even remember what it was called , I bought it so fast. My bf also bought a few bottles of something (I think they're bourbon with honey) type liquor. I know he's excited to try it. It was overall a pricey yet amazing experience. I was delighted by Savannah Bee Company's honey selection, in which we purchased a couple of bottles for the sake of spiritual purity. Additionally, we partook in a mead share and picked up a couple of bottles due to our experience. Moreover, they had a terrific book on the history of mead by Fred Minnick, which I also purchased, along with some Royal Jelly Body Butter with Tupelo Honey that changed my life in ways you couldn't imagine. Upon hearing that they did mead tastings, we set our sights on the Savannah Bee Company, but unfortunately the word tasting means something different here. We expected to go in, maybe see a cool bottle or read an interesting label, taste the mead it belonged to, and buy it if we liked it. We've been to this location several times over the years and tried all the honey. We've also tried almost (if not all) of the lotions, body butters, etc as well. This was the first time we actually did the mead tasting and it was great! We are huge fans of mead and I'm glad we decided to stick around and do the tasting. We found some new meads we loved and brought several home with us! The staff in this location is always friendly and so knowledgeable. If you have any questions they are quick to help. My wife discovered SBC when she was visiting Savannah, and now we have this Earl Grey lip balm that she almost never uses. So I finally asked why and she was like, I like it so much I don't want to run out. At that point, I'm like, every product has a business which usually leads to a website........ that I can order more from. Come to find out they carry a variety of different lip balms and flavors. Right now I'm obsessed with Peach Blossom lip shimmer, but next up, can't wait to try the Sweet Tea! i loved visiting this shop. Plenty of sample and testers available and they are very helpful and informative with no pressure to answer questions. I somehow came out of there with some fun items. A honeycomb for a charcuterie, some delicious body butter, and a great t-shirt that says save the queen. They have some little photo ops for the kiddos also inside. read more

Oh if you love honey you gotta go here. A great selection, and they have samples galore which is awesome so you can try before you buy. And holy mama mia did I buy. There was a guy there who was helping with samples, he's like the Wikipedia of honey, he knew all the types of honey and the flavor notes. He made good recommendations when I asked for the top ones - and he was spot-on too. My fave was the Tupelo - but they were running low so I got a couple. The 2nd was the Savannah - so flavorful. Loved the Hot Honey too - - has a really nice kick that hits you in the back of the throat. The Cinnamon Butter / Spread was really good. And the Mexican one - that was flavorful too. So glad I got to try them because I would have bought things that looked appealing but didn't live up to expectations. Another great thing here is you can have items shipped for a flat rate of $12.50. So I loaded up a bunch of honeys and got that deal cuz I can't take them on the plane. If you order online you don't get that shipping deal - it will be by weight. So I also took the liberty to ship a bunch to my BFF Conrad in Michigan. Funny thing was I texted him about this honey place, told him my bill (it was north of $200) and he was like "Hey Dumb-F - - WTF are you going to do with all that honey?". I think he was just irritable after being slammed with 12 inches of snow over the past 2 days. He's kinda right, but what I didn't tell him was I got him quite a few bottles so that's gonna be his problem too. But damn you put that stuff in tea, on toast, biscuits, and I love it on fried chicken or chicken tenders. Hell yeah! And they put it on pizza too now - so that's WTF you can do with all that honey, Conrad. And BTW - you're f*king welcome. Ok. Maybe I went a little overboard, but I don't want to run short on honey when I am home in Austin and regret not buying that extra bottle (or 2) of Tupelo and Savannah. It's GOOD! Why not 5-stars? Well, it's honey, and it's a bit premium priced, but it's still good and it's unique and I do highly recommend this place for the honey-lover in your life. I'm in here shopping with my mom and dad and this socially awkward dude starts following us around like we're going to steal some thing I open up a hand soap just to smell it and he tells me that I can go into the bathroom just to smell the hand soap when there's like five or six different ones. I'm a shopaholic I love hand soaps I love all of this stuff but I refuse to buy from a company that has an employee who likes to shame very loudly and like I'm doing something wrong. It's been a few years since I rated Savannah Bee and I have to say, they just keep getting better. I love the Honey with a cause choices, and the new Hot Honey is delightful! I love to put it on my charcuterie boards, my pizza, my breakfast sandwiches, pretty much everywhere. You can sample all the honeys, which have surprisingly different flavors. You can sample the body care products as well. And of course, the mead counter in the back is always a hive of activity. Still a delightful shop and place to pick up a gift or ten. read more

LOVE this place! I wish I had bought more and tried more while I was there! I regret not sampling all of the flavors. I did not do that because I did not want to seem like I was sampling just to sample. But I ended up buying two out of the three flavors I tried, now I am home, the closest store is about 5-6 hours away, and I am wanting to buy more. I ended up purchasing a bottle of the Lemon Whipped Honey, Tupelo and the Bourbon infused Orange Blossom with one pump and some honeycomb. I am sure all the other flavors will be just as lovely, but I do wish I had tried them when I had the chance before having to now buy them online without knowing. The staff were so friendly and did not seem to mind giving out samples. If you go in and purchase some yourself, you will likely want to buy more as well. So go ahead and sample while you can. I will also be buying more of the pumps, because it is so nice to have the pump to dispense the perfect amount of honey while keeping everything cleaner and wasting less of the liquid gold. So now I want to have a pump for each flavor. They gave me a nice gift with my purchase as well. It's been about two weeks since I was there, and already I am thinking about just driving the 6 hours back to Savannah so I can try the Mead along with everything else before loading up again. read more

Who knew you could get mead flights?! Not me! We have a Savannah Bee Company in Atlanta and I knew they had mead, but I never realized I could stop in and taste some flights. And of course, when in Savannah... must stop in to taste the Savannah meads! It was great to try all the meads with a knowledgeable explanation of each mead. A flight of 6 mead tastings for $10 is a great deal! I don't think I tasted a bad one! One complaint is that I definitely heard the bartender repeat the same spiel for each tasting at the bar. Either give it to me all at once in a time slot with fellow mead drinkers... or I'm not sure. But at the same time, I preferred not having to wait for a time slot to drink my flight. Pretty convenient! There's also plenty of honey products in the store for purchase. May stop in again next time in Savannah to see if there are new meads available to try! read more

Really fun place to sample any and all honey related goods! Great stop for families and adult tourist groups alike. It met all my expectations and then some! I come from a place where honey really isn't that big so it blew my mind when I walked into Savannah Bee Co and saw all the different flavor and texture variations of honey. I loved how many options there were to sample and how they made little snack bites to show you how to best arrange honey topped snacks at home. The apple slices with gorgonzola and tupelo honey were my favorite. My two favorite honey samples where the regular whipped honey and the tupelo honey. This shop not only sells large, beautiful wine looking bottles of honey but also gift size minis, coffee bags, beers, candles, mugs, koozies, lotions and a full line of beauty and skin products. The coffee beans are a local roast that has Savannah Bee Co honey mixed in! I also got to do a mead tasting in the back area for only $10. The meads were all very different from each other and the bartender was well educated on each variety. I really enjoyed the tasting! They have plenty of great staff here, awesome gifts, tasty treats, a kiddie playground to give the adults a breathe while they shop/taste, and it's located right on the main strip in downtown Savannah. I'd recommend parking far and walking as the stroll is beautiful and parking in downtown is going to be more crowded and pricey than just walking a few blocks down the roads. read more

Very cute place in the heart of Savannah. I felt like I was supporting you he bees just coming here. There's even a little sign by the checkout line where you can adopt a bee and get a cute little diploma in return. This place is ripe with great gift ideas too. We ended up getting their mead, some of the cutest chocolates you'll ever see, chapsticks, honeycomb, a tote bag (that came in handy during our Savannah shopping spree) and of course a ton of different varieties of honey. I had never even heard of whipped honey until I came to this place. I've only tried the chocolate one so far and it was phenomenal. Very happy we stopped in here. read more
