So far I've tried boxing, strength, and flow. When I showed up for boxing, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. The woman who signed me up for the class even showed up to make sure I made it and introduce me to the instructor. She wasn't even scheduled to work--she just came and left after. The instructor Midge was very nice and inspirational and the entire class said hello and made me feel comfortable. Strength class kicked my butt. It was packed, fast paced, and I should have arrived earlier than ten minutes beforehand (ok, eight minutes beforehand). Flow class this morning was a great choice to stretch out my sore muscles from yesterday. Onward to my last trial class this week: cycling!

Every class is 45-minutes which is perfect vs. typical 60-minutes fitness classes which in my opinion, helps you get in and out quickly allowing extra time for errands, commuting, etc. The studio is brand new so of course it's extremely clean, the parking is still under construction (but will be done soon) and the staff was welcoming and kind. You do need to have clip in shoes in order to cycle which you can bring your own or rent and there is a water fountain to fill up water bottles. Cycling is done to the beat of the music with candles and dim lights. One unique thing about this studio is that there is free child care on-site. I don't have kids and didn't use it, but this sounds like a major perk! Clip in, check out, let's ride!

I've been going to CrossFit Woodbury for a little over a month now. I have trained at chain gyms,…read moremartial arts studios, and experimented with purchasing home equipment in the past. I haven't ever experienced the sense of community or had instructors as knowledgeable anywhere else. The gym has enough space, the equipment is not only sound, but also there is enough of it, and the support group of people that train here including the coach, Matt, and his team really make it easy to get myself to the gym after work! I have yet to experience a place like this that actually makes me feel like they care about my goals, wellbeing, and overall satisfaction with the training I am receiving. I feel as though I am not just another person to make money off of. I would hands down recommend this gym to anyone looking to lose weight, get stronger, train for a specific sport, or make the transition from traditional weight lifting to CrossFit. This is the place to do it!
