Tonight I wandered in looking for a finer Cabernet--not super pricey but around the $40-$50 price range. I directed myself to those wines and asked the clerk what made these wines so special. His answers included, "They taste really good," or "The label is enticing." Well, I wasn't completely satisfied with those answers but I decided to purchase the wine anyway when the owner came to me and said, "I don't like your tone, and if you're not going to purchase the wine, I'd like you to leave." She then escorted me to the door. It was clear that they didn't have an experienced wine staff. I have no problem with that. But in the few times that I've purchased wine there, it's clear that this is very true. It's a lovely store with a nice selection, but it clearly lacks knowledge of wine.

Everything else looked good too with maybe the exception of rum, which was a little more simplistic. Many of these reviews seem tied to 1 rude cashier, however all I can say is they were not there when I was there. Moreover, every member of the staff--from the cashier to the manager to the other workers--were very friendly. Furthermore prices were reasonable with some things slightly high and some low. All in all I'll take this right down the road from me.

I've been in there many times and have purchased many bottles of whiskey, wines, and liquors over the years and never had a problem. I don't have a problem with the staff per se...but rather the young woman with the glasses behind the counter. I had purchased an assortment of bottled wines and brandies and they were not boxed. So...I asked the young lady to please wrap them in silver paper and tie them with green or red ribbon for the holidays...as they were to be given to various people as gifts. She rang up my purchase, I paid her and she slapped down the wrapping bags and ribbon on the counter. She stated that she doesn't or wouldn't be able to wrap my bottles. Now I looked behind me and there were no other people on line...so I did not understand the problem or why she wouldn't do this for me. Most if not ALL liquor stores wrap your bottles for the Holidays. I told her I'm not sure how to do this very well and that I don't have a scissors on me and that I needed to make various stops when I leave here. She told me she doesn't wrap and that was that. So rather than fight and make a scene in the store...I put my bottles in a box because they don't give bags with your purchase, I told her she was very rude and left the store.
