My go to liquor store in the area. Located next to Stop & Shop, Destination is warehouse-like without being too huge/dirty. Selection is the biggest strength here, both for wine and for liquor. The place is basically a front area with featured items:canned cocktails, a huge aisle of liquor, and a huge aisle of wine. Didn't go deep into the wine yet, but the liquor selection is pretty impressive. In particular, if you're looking for whiskey (inclusive of scotch, bourbon etc) or vodka, this is your place. Everything else looked good too with maybe the exception of rum, which was a little more simplistic. Many of these reviews seem tied to 1 rude cashier, however all I can say is they were not there when I was there. Moreover, every member of the staff--from the cashier to the manager to the other workers--were very friendly. Furthermore prices were reasonable with some things slightly high and some low. I have never been to this store when they opened on time. I have seen people wait around and leave as late as 10:30 when they are supposed to open at 10:00. They should change the opening time on the window so as not to waste peoples' time! Also, they aren't very friendly. I've switched to Ultimate Wines over by ShopRite. They open at 9:00 and are super nice. ShopRite is so much better than Stop and Shop too! read more

I like this spot for its wide selection and convenient location next to Stop & Shop. They have a huge selection on both wine and spirits. I particularly appreciate that when it comes to spirits, they carry a wide array of both 1.75 L and mini-bottles, which have been useful for gifts and parties. Sometimes volume translates to good prices, but not always. It's probably best to open up your phone and do some research before you start pulling bottles off the shelves. My experiences with the staff have been just fine. Someone usually greets me when I walk in. I don't think anyone has ever offered me assistance, but the last time I asked an employee for advice they were kind, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. But in general, if I want someone to help me curate a purchase, then I think there are better local options. I also appreciate that they sell lottery tickets, which lets me indulge in two milder vices in one stop. Finally, they do seem to take COVID safety seriously, including hand sanitizer and foot decals to maintain social distancing. They've taken the time to give customers directions on how to stay safe, and it works best when folks follow their guidelines. read more

They have a great variety of wines, whiskeys, beers, alcohol, vodkas,etc. You can found any premium bottle or a cheap one. The staff are so nice here, helpful and funny, the prices are reasonable and the place is very organized. They have a lot of good deals; make sure to ask for a card so you get point each time you make a purchase here. I always look forward shopping here. read more

I visited this store this afternoon around 1. I am a middle aged African American. I don't frequent liquor stores, moved to the area 9 months ago and thought I would try if. I walked in, There were no customers in the store. There was a woman at the register, no acknowledgement. Two workers standing in the aisle, did not ask if I needed help but rather walked to back. I thought, maybe Will get better. I walked around for about 5 minutes. The men came out again, saw I assume that I did not find what I was looking for but still did not offer any assistance. I reached the front of the store again, thinking maybe the person at the register would ask if I needed help since she could clearly see that I had not found anything. A white middle aged man entered the store and he received a friendly hello from the woman at the register. I walked out. I am a highly educated professional. I would never return to a place where I had been treated so poorly. read more

I could not make a purchase because my ID picture was a picture of me when I was 16, (I am 21, and all that has changed is the addition of facial hair)when I showed another form of identification to prove that the ID was mine the man told me he wouldn't sell me the item, because he wouldn't admit he was wrong, another customer even said that the identification looks exactly like me, but his pride was on the line and he couldn't afford to look foolish, I asked to see the manager and he claimed to be the manager, I also asked if he could maybe call someone to verify that the identification was me,but he refused. Overall it was a terrible and unexpected experience, when a mans pride has to interfere with a business transaction, one of the customers told me to go to this other liquor store near by with the same item I was looking for, since it was so specific. read more

Visited this location over the weekend for the first time and was extremely disappointed in their pricing of bourbon. They were trying to sell a bottle of W L Weller 12 year (a $25 to $35 dollar bottle) for $100 dollars. The bottle was not priced on the retail shelf. It was only when I went to check out that I learned it was so expensively priced. After questioning the retail associate about the price his only response to the markup was "Sorry man, that's just what it costs." I jokingly replied "I'd hate to think what you'd charge a poor soul for a bottle of Pappy!" to which his response was "Well, we have some 15 year for $600 dollars." What??? A $85 dollar bottle of Bourbon for $600 dollars. GTFO. I'm ashamed I even went back and bought an overpriced bottle of Rye whiskey from this store but really had no choice as I was only in town for a work function with no other options. Staff not friendly at all and I WAS a regular customer. I usually buy wine by the case but they were out of it one day when I went in there. Owner told me they probably had it in their other shop in the Bridge Plaza Shopping Center right down the road. So I went to pick it up at the other store and they were going to charge me $7.00 more for the case so I didn't take it. When I called the owner at Destination Wines to tell him this he said "different store, different prices". Really???He did the same thing to a friend of mine when they were out of Jack Daniels. I now drive over to Wine Warehouse to buy my wine. I will never go back to Destination Wines again and it is so much more convenient. That was a poor customer service choice. read more
