From the attendants to the nurse practitioners Manager was attentive and caring the first visit when our son was not agreeable to go in to the appt She came out to the parking area and gently suggested he give them the opportunity to care for his wound. For those of you who are not aware, the healthcare industry is primarily concerned with making a profit and the second you no longer have a health issue the profits stop. With that said I have been stricken with the most painful condition and I have ulcers all over my lower leg and when I go to my wound care appointments it for debridement where the np takes scalpel and scrapes away dead tissue on the wound bed. Mind melting pain. Although the staff is friendly, there are issues I have with this business. Although I have made it clear that I need to have my appointments no earlier than 11 am they have not given me a consistent appointment time and try to schedule me before 10. Also, they deal with a medical supply company called Byrahm and they are highly incompetent. My biggest concern is about the fact that the business makes a ton of money but have not used that money to update their debridement tools. Still using scalples which causes me tremendous pain when they have sonic high frequency debtifement tools available that cause no pain and speed the healing process up significantly. I just want to get better. Active life is not doing a good job with that. read more

The Roseville clinic is great. Friendly staff and the provider, David Basco, is knowledgeable, patient and compassionate. And tenacious! My sisters bottom of the foot wound has been a challenge but David never gave up, finding us a solution that is now speeding her recovery. The Peach Tree clinic referred me to Active Life Wound Clinic and here is where the trouble began. Someone named Britta Anne called and after much struggle, I could only understand one word out of five, she was willing to give me an appt. in 2 weeks. I thought it would be healed by then, so I said, "too late". A month went by and the wound was still there. Not being a Doctor, I didn't know it would be so I called Active Wounds back to get an appt. I still couldn't understand her but when she hung up I had no appt. but I still had the wound. So I'm guessing that they (she?) had more important things to take care of than patients needing help! I've had this wound for about 5 months now so at the rate I'm making progress it should be healed in about 2-3 more. read more

Quite simply ... a model of what a my kind of health care clinic is suppose to be. An 11 on a scale of 1-10. EVERYONE there is awesome!

I have an abscess which I was advised may require surgery to heal properly but my insurance company compelled me to see this doctor first. I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a medical setting and I visit doctors quite frequently. The receptionist was quite nice and friendly it was the nurse practitioner himself whose bedside manner left quite a bit to be desired. After the MA prepared me--who was also very nice--the nurse practitioner came in and asked me what the problem was and I explained the situation. He then took a cue tip style applicator and began trying to jam the large end into my open wound which started bleeding quite a bit. I told him at my normal clinic they usually insert the thin part into the wound to which he responded "oh thank you. You're so helpful" in a sarcastic manner. He then tried to jam it into me again with absolutely no concern for my pain at all. He said there was no problem and that the wound was healing. I asked why is there pus still if it's okay. He then said "do you know what pus is? Do you know what pus looks like? What color is pus". I told him pus consists of macrophages and other dead white blood cells. I told him that's fine I'm not gunning for surgery if I don't have to get it. He responded by saying "yeah the good news is we won't have to know each other". I don't know what caused his attitude as I didn't say anything that could've been offensive. I just have an open wound that's been twice infected and I want to heal. I'm in no position to tussle with a nurse practitioner who brings his personal problems to his job. I will say that I too am glad I won't have to know this person further. read more

I have seen Nurse Practitioner Jeff Souza several times to care for a wound on my knee. Jeff does an excellent job and his affable demeanor has made visits to his office a pleasant experience. The building is not modern or medical-looking, but the care is great! During my appointments, he explained what the issues were and what could be done to assist the healing process. He also made sure I knew how to care for it at home and had the supplies I needed. I appreciate how he made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions.
