Having suffered for several months with shooting pains in my leg, glutes and lower back, I had resigned myself to a life of chronic pain that often kept me from my favorite activities. A friend recommended Joe, however, and after only a few sessions, the pain was completely gone and has not returned. In the process, Joe taught me some valuable tricks for sitting, walking and exercising that I use every day. I feel stronger and taller and walk with more confidence now that I know that getting older does not have to mean that you are in constant pain. Astonishingly, Joe also cured me of the excruciating pressure headache or migraine that I endured for 7 weeks straight this summer. I don't like to take too many painkillers, but I had to do so every day for 7 weeks just to function. I consulted with Joe who suggested we try a soft tissue treatment of my neck and after just one session, the headaches were gone and have been gone for two weeks now! She truly is a holistic doctor - specifically for me, we've been doing adjustments but she has also found additional exercises, stretching, and rolling that can be used to maintain good posture and a pain free life. Initially, I went on a weekly basis and now I'm going much less frequently. I used to have occasional low back related injuries at the gym that would force me to stop/alter my workouts for a week or 2 at time. Amazingly, I've seen no injuries since seeing her and I can feel myself more in tune with my body and core to prevent those injuries - and for me, I'm now lifting stronger and better because of it. Also - Dr. Nicole is such a wonderful human. She cares so much and it shows in her practice. She takes the time for every patient, she gets to know your life, which helps her show up better to fix your physical health - and I promise your mental health will improve when you no longer wake up in excruciating pain. She understands your pain even if you don't have the clinical vocabulary to exactly describe it. I'm a big fan of supporting independent businesses, family owned or those who go into business for themselves. Why? Because I'm an independent massage therapist and know the difficulties it takes to have to start, operate and the time required to own your own business. It's hard work but well worth the price. So when I truly believe in supporting and writing about a business it's usually because it's an independent. And as such, Rivera Chiropractic Group is a family owned operation. Matthew Rivera, DC is one of the best chiropractors in the bay area. Without him I wouldn't have lasted as long as I have in my profession. Dr. Rivera and his wife Gitte Rivera are two of the most wonderful people I have gotten to know over 15 yrs. and I can honestly say this couple will go to bat for you when you're injured, hurt, and in need of an awesome chiropractor. Gitte is the office manager and with her guidance, the office staff will help and assist you in any medical or insurance questions, issues or concerns you may have. They make it a point to make you feel welcomed Of course it's always best to schedule an appointment but Rivera's takes walk-in as well you may just have to wait a little but not long. Besides it's worth it!! Dr. Rivera is one of the best. This man really listens to his patients, takes the time to hear what you have to say. Where it hurts, how you hurt yourself, and will address all your questions with care and compassion. How many of you can say that about a doctor's bedside manner? Over the past 25 years I have gone to a number of chiropractors, both in the South Bay and in L.A., but only one has ever been able to give me lasting relief from chronic neck pain: Dr. Matt Rivera. This alone would be enough to bring me back, but "Dr. Matt" offers so much more: not only is he a consummate professional, he's also an enthusiastic, extroverted, friendly guy to boot. He listens, he fixes, he advises . . . in short, he cares, and clearly loves what he does. His staff is always warm and helpful, including the always-beaming Dr. Ro, the front desk admins, and often the beautiful Gitte (aka Mrs. Rivera). The facility is always spotless; the service, efficient, and quick -- even for "walk-ins," which I have never seen them turn away. All this and an aquarium full of turtles! PAIN - One of life's Challenges! It is something I lived with for years. I took over the counter pain medication and went from Dr. to Chiropractic Dr. and back to Dr.'s again. Never finding the answer until I started working with Dr. Matt Rivera. The word "pain" has not been in my vocabulary since! I visit the office each week because his work keeps my body balanced and healthy. Over the years I have found his vast knowledge and advice invaluable. Dr. Rivera's wife, Gitte Rivera runs the office with great precision and class. As a patient you are always greeted with respect and compassion. She and her staff are wonderful! If you are hurting and want to feel better - go here! Dr. Rivera is compassionate, talented and passionate about his profession. As a professional body builder, I would be considered a "hard nut to crack" by many. Dr. Rivera knows exactly how to deal with my aches and pains and to give me that extra edge while I am training and getting ready for competition. For me, seeing him on a regular basis is as important to me as working out, eating right and drinking my power shake in the morning! I cant believe some of the bad reviews on this place! Dr Matt is not only a very talented chiropractor but also a very nice person. He truly has made a difference on our health, I had a horrible pain in my neck a few months ago, to the point that I couldn't move my head in any direction, my husband took me to Dr Matt, and they helped me in immediately they were careful and compassionate, I will never forget the way they treated me. I have been seeing Dr. Rivera for the last several years. I would definitely say he is the best Chiropractor in the Bay Area. He is always able to identify the source of my headaches or neck/shoulder pain and fix it right away. He also gives advice on prevention and maintaining good posture. The mini-massage and muscle warm up provided by his staff prior to adjustment is soothing. I have been seeing Dr. Rivera for several years. Many years ago I hurt my back doing judo. Since I am frequently at my computer, my neck and lower back tend to hurt. Therefore, I go in from time to time for minor adjustments. This is a very friendly office and I am always made to feel welcome. Dr. Rivera and staff are the best. I have been seeing Dr. Rivera for over 7 years. Twice a month is my own wellness program - and I pay out of my own pocket. He also gets me through emergencies and injuries. I have seen many chiropractors over the years and consider him the very top of the list. They did follow up and apologize, very nice office, but again, if you are on a tight schedule I would not recommend.
