I've been going to NLC for the past year and I can say that you really feel like family when you walk in the door here :) the front desk ladies are both super nice! And before coming here, I was loyal to only one chiropractor my whole life before moving to the peninsula and then I had to find a new chiro within my area - that's when I stumbled on new life chiropractic! First off- their new patient exams are super thorough with detailed medical history, asking about sleep and personal life/ stress/ mood quality in addition to taking a comprehensive set of X-rays to get a baseline of where your current anatomy. After working with both drs for almost a year I can say that my vertigo & dizziness has subsided, along with my sleep being the best it's ever been. They even did a mid point evaluation of X-rays halfway through the year and made adjustments as necessary to my treatment program. The massages here are also top notch, I haven't visited any other massage facility or spa since coming here for massages. Each massage therapist has their own style and it's been wonderful being able to try out all the different styles of massage here. There's at least something for everyone! I'll start by saying, I'd never really 'believed' in chiropractors and came here over a year ago to try to flip my breeched baby (as my local FB moms group recommended Julia Mason, and her expertise using the Webster technique). My OBGYN confirmed it was worth a shot...and sure enough after three sessions, my breeched baby flipped on her own, at 36 weeks, and I avoided a c-section! Now for what made me a true believer: during those sessions, Julia noticed my tailbone issues (pain I'd been living with for about two years and tried to navigate with a donut pillow on my work chair). In one session she released the tension, and now one year later, I still have no pain! I come every few months when back or hip pain occur, and every time Julia has worked wonders in just one session. I cannot recommend enough! read more

If I could give New Life 100 stars I would. Unfortunately we have to deal with 5. But sadly I'm a little heart broken that I won't be seeing this fantastic group anymore (since I'm moving). They've been beyond wonderful and have really made me feel cared for every step of the way - I even would reschedule times I'd go in to work just so I could make sure I'd be able to make my appointments. When I first went to them I would have chronic neck and back issues because I work in front of a computer all day. My corrective period was very often but within 2-3 weeks I could already feel such a difference in my neck and hips. By the 3rd month I was standing up straight and with my hips aligned (could definitely feel that when I'd dance salsa/etc). I go once a week now and everytime I feel great for the week and don't feel that tightness like I used to. This office itself is filled with friendly, down-to-earth, professional individuals who make you secure and safe. If I had friends and family in the area I'd definitely say without hesitation to come here. And I'd even consider making a 1.5hr drive just to come. But, we'll see ;P. But I've also felt like I could share pieces of what's going on in my life with them (despite how quick our adjustments can be) and know it's legit. Hopefully Dr. Mason takes my advice about taking Salsa!! :P. But they're really such an awesome group that I'm sad I won't be seeing for awhile. The front office is wonderful, with text reminder, taking care of insurance, and other administrative needs, while greeting me and others a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dr Janet McCaffrey is the best! The New Life Chiropractic office is lovely, and their office manager, Joanna, is warm, kind, and helpful. I look forward to my visits and always feel so good afterwards. While training for my 8th marathon, I started to have some regular pain in my lower back and glutes. I assumed it was a soft tissue issue and booked a massage with my trusted deep tissue guy. He poked around and called out some structural issues and recommended I see a chiropractor. I was a bit skeptical, but I'm always open to anything that can help me stay active and healthy. After calling around and visiting a half a dozen places, I met with Dr. McCaffrey. Unlike other chiropractors, who wanted to jump into adjustments and ask questions later, she spent time understanding my training and lifestyle. What really sold me was that they have an x-ray machine in their office, so she was able to see exactly what was going on with my hips and spine, and then help me understand the source of my aches and pains and how her treatments could help. I went to New Life Chiropractic during my last trimester of pregnancy when I began to develop sciatica pain. I had never been to a chiropractor before but during my first exam and consult, Dr. Mason did an amazing job explaining our body's anatomy using analogies that were easy to understand without overdoing the medical jargon, reviewed each adjustment & movement she made, and made sure I was OK throughout the session. My second adjustment was with Dr. McCaffrey and she was equally as knowledgeable and the adjustment was quick and felt better within the half hour. I then scheduled a 90-min prenatal massage (with Darlene) which was heavenly!! The office manager and staff are super nice and friendly. Making appointments are quick. Ok round 2 of review.. update!!! New life chiropractic gave me a new life!!!! I have had pain for years couldn't even sit from severe tailbone pain.. i could not sit an play with my son on the floor with out crying of pain. The first visit took my pain from a 12 to a 4 then after several treatments pain at a 0 to 1.. i am still in shock of how quickly I was able to be fixed after years of doctor tell I don't know lets remove the tail bone... so again sticking with 5 stars but really needs a glaxey of stars thanks for changing my life.. read more

I have been seeing the doctors at New Life for over a year now. I always thought that chiropractors just worked on backs so I never even thought about seeing one. But running half marathons and constant workouts started to take a toll on my body. When I first started seeing the doctors at New Life, I had knee issues, back issues, plantar fasciitis, and a wrist injury. I was a mess! It took some time to work through my issues, but I went from seeing the doctors 3 days a week to now just once every other week. Dr. Mason & Dr. McCaffrey really listen to what I'm telling them about my body and have figured out how to make it feel better. They are personable and enjoyable to visit. Dr. Quiroz has helped me so much! As a rugby athlete she always made sure I was in good shape before every game and I know that's why I didn't get injured very often. I received a gift certificate for a one hour massage and booked it on a Saturday morning with Barbara, and really can't say enough about how sublime it all was. I can't wait to book another one! The ambience of the massage room was perfect: über-comfortable warm blanket & soft sheets, calming background music, pleasant lighting. Barbara asked about any problem areas and made me feel comfortable by explaining her massage style. As the massage went on and Barbara expertly unkinked the tension and stress from every woefully neglected part of my body, the effects gathered to a point where I was a bit stunned - did I really feel this PHENOMENAL?!! It's difficult to put the physical reaction into words, but it seemed as if every single cell in my body was singing 'Hallelujah' I had no idea a massage could leave you feeling so incredible. I left thinking "Why doesn't everyone who is able to give themselves this kindness?!" I am a board certified lactation consultant in private practice and I work with so many families that struggle with breastfeeding. One of the most incredible things I learned about recently is Dr. Julia Mason and her ability to help newborns, infants, and children. I've known about chiropractic treatment for years and have always been a huge fan, but I didn't realize it would be helpful for little ones. Treatment for newborns is so subtle and GENTLE, there is no cracking or anything you'd typically associate with adjustments. There are several families I've worked with over the past couple months who have had assisted deliveries (vacuum, forceps, planned or emergency cesarean sections) and also those who have had uncomplicated deliveries. Whatever the case may be, many of the babies were effected - they had preferences on turning their heads to the left or right, nursing in certain positions would cause them to arch back or unconsolably cry, tight jaw muscles, digestion issues, constipation, sleeping, colic, the list goes on. I've been referring them to see Dr. Mason and I'm thrilled with the results! Babies are latching on better, mom is experiencing less pain and frustration with breastfeeding, and some moms have been going for some support to help get her post-natal body feeling better as well! I'm absolutely delighted to have found Dr. Mason and so are the families I work with. If you're unsure about the process, consult with her and ask her questions. First of all, Dr. Julia Mason and Dr. Janet McCaffrey are both awesome chiropractors. And I think Dr. Julie Mink is too! I just never met her before. Due to my painful back, last October I was desperate to find any form of relief to cure the shooting and sharp pains away. What drew me into Chiropractic Care was many months before hand when I attended the Haight festival and was consulted by a chiropractor there. Unfortunately, SF was too far for me to commute just for a doctor, so I figured something else will come up in the future. Being the person that I am, I take forever to really get the ball rolling. So luckily, meeting them at the San Carlos Art & Wine Festival had to be my best bet. So I was set up for my first consultation appointment. I was scared and skeptical at the same time. Janet is awesome, she took xrays and I discovered a lot about my bone structure. I figured that my shooting pains from behind my shoulderblade were coming from my neck.... my strained and 40year old bone structured neck was causing the problem. It was so sad, I always wondered why my chin would stick out so much. I've never been a fan of Chiro's. I've always had a pretty jacked up spine, and heavy neck issues. In my younger years, I'd go to this Chiropractor Group who literally "forced" me to go 4 times a week, and made me feel like if I don't do traction for the rest of my life, every night, and hang my head over the side of my bed backwards while I slumber, that I would die a very slow painful, humpbacked lil 'ol lady. Not at New Life Chiro! They're AWESOME! THEY're REALISTIC. They are so amazingly sweet, talented, knowledgeable, and reasonable!! I'm one of those peeps who goes every few weeks, Dr. McCaffrey usually adjusts me (she rocks - but they ALL do!) and I feel FABULOUS for another go 'round. And have NEVER felt pressured in anyway. They also stay on-top of me, as far as following up ( I sooo need that!) and making sure I get in when I want to. Very accomodating! But not pushy in the slightest bit! I could not live without this chiropractic therapy. Pain pills made it worse. This natural treatment is one of the only ways to get relief from daily pain with no drugs! They have specialized tables, no twisting around, just lay on the table and half the tension is gone and more movement too. I highly recommend this wonderful place. I called Dr. McCaffery because she provides her cell phone number in case of emergencies and she was quick to help. She contacted my primary doctor, Julia Mason, who actually drove down on a Sunday morning from her home in San Francisco, to adjust my back and neck at their office. I was very thankful and felt better already by that evening. I highly recommend both of these chiropractors.
