If you have a child with any type of behavioral condition, even if it's just normal toddler…read morenaughtiness, they will discriminate. Mostly due the fact that it requires more work for the teachers/caretakers. Their goal is to do the least amount of work. They have no issues lying and making up facts so they don't have to do work. I had three professional evaluations completed and the only condition identified was a speech delay. I submitted the paperwork to the daycare for review. At the end, the reason behind not continuing my child was that he was "not a good fit" They will email you several pictures throughout the day of your child in an activity. In contrast, almost every time I've picked up my child from daycare, I've seen the teachers just standing there or talking to each other with no interaction with the children at all. The director takes several days to reply to emails or may not respond at all. Not every injury to your child is reported. They will lie to you and say your child did not get injured at daycare when you know well your child did not come in with a scratch. Things you give them can get lost. I dropped off a bag with 4 extra outfits and they denied it, essentially it's lost. FYI, in terms of safety, they leave the door to enter the classrooms unlocked at times. The system to type in your keycode never works. Essentially anyone can come into the building. I've had friends send their children to this daycare but it's not the nurturing environment and caring institution it once was anymore. I agree with the lack of ethics. I never expected a daycare could be manipulative and discriminatory as this one. I also caught them allowing my child to watch cartoon on an iPad. My child is has not acted out or had a behavioral complaint written up on him once since starting his new daycare. And no longer cries when dropped off in the morning.

A Disheartening Experience of Discrimination: Our Encounter with The Goddard School of Englewood…read moreCliffs: MUST READ THIS. I am a very fair person when it comes to giving reviews, and this is the most important one I have written so far. On Thursday, August 1st My husband, my son, and I went on a tour of this school on the recommendation of my almost 4-year-old son's doctor. We met with the owner, Ms. Stephanie, who was very professional. She explained the entire school system, gave us the costs, and showed us the facilities in great detail. We visited the classroom that would be assigned to my son, met the teacher, and my child was even able to enter the class and wanted to stay. We expressed to the owner, whom we believed to be the director, that we loved the school and agreed to bring the application and payments on Monday. We left happy and excited. During the interview, she observed our son playing and tidying up the toys before we left, and she even praised us and our son. We couldn't go on Monday, but on Tuesday August 6, at 9am in the morning, TWO BUSINESS DAY AFTER OUR TOUR.... I went to deliver the registration form, the registration fee, and the monthly payment, because we also told Ms. Stephanie that we are going on vacation and we want to enroll him before we leave and she agreed. This time, I was received by Ashley, who kindly took the documents and payments and asked me his age before scheduling the integration days, so she knew perfectly well what group he would be assigned to. She gave me the dates for our son's two integration days, which would be Monday and Tuesday, August 12 and 13, 2024. I went to work happy about the new beginning. But no more than five minutes after I left, the same director who had just received my check and documents called me and said I had to come back to pick them up because there was no space for my son for the school year. I was literally in shock and speechless, but when I managed to articulate, I told her it must be a mistake, and she insisted it was not. I asked to speak with the owner, Ms. Stephanie whom we met on our tour, but she was not available and wouldn't be for two days. In the end, the story is that my son has a mild autism diagnosis, which is only evident in his communication expression. He is a child without any type of bad behavior, trained to use the bathroom, follows all kinds of orders, is completely verbal, and extremely sociable to the point where he makes no distinction between strangers and acquaintances. His doctor recommended this school because of its structure to take advance of his fantastic brain, because since two years old he can read and already speak THREE LANGUAGE.... but I never imagined, especially after such a wonderful tour, that they would be DISCRIMINATORY towards a child because of such a common and normal condition as autism. I don't believe, nor will I ever believe, that the class was full because even if it were, it was inappropriate for this so-called director to call me after scheduling my son for a trial class. Such lack of ETHICS, how sad. And above all, I do not accept their apologies because, after telling Ms. Stephanie that we loved the school, she gave us the start date and all the details, accepted that we bring the payment, and then they did this to us. They played with our time, played with our hopes, and discriminated against my son because of a condition. When I returned to get my money, the director was completely rude and inconsiderate. She treated me like nothing, without elegance or education. She didn't even give me the option to put him on a waiting list because they are simply discriminators. I would never, ever recommend this place. And I have already sent an email to my doctor so she doesn't recommend it either. In a country as developed as this one, a country of inclusion and freedom, it is a shame for someone who has this business and is a teacher to behave with classifications and discrimination towards a child for any condition.

Their approach to music is sustainable and they make music fun and easy to learn. My daughter started going to Arete music academy at 3 years old. She is now playing short piano songs and getting much better. My son was also part of the meet the instruments class and also started at 3 as well. He loves to sing and has developed a lifelong appreciation for music. I even took a few piano lessons myself and was very impressed with how much I was able to learn in such a short period of time. Their staff is top notch with the best credentials. In addition to being scholars of music, they are a nice group of people that interact well with people of all ages and backgrounds. Other things that I like about Arete are: 1) The academy is very neat and clean and well laid out with many sound proof music rooms. 2) They have the finest pianos, Steinway, Yamaha, Kawai which are excellent for taking lessons on and are perfectly tuned! 3) The office staff is very nice and easy to talk to. 4) Top music staff from all the best music universities. Not only do they know music in and out, they can teach it very effectively. 5) They have many programs for all ages and instruments. There is something for everyone. This is definitely hands down the best music school in the area. I wish this Academy was around when I was a child. I am looking forward to having my children become music scholars in the coming years.

Both days were unacceptable and honestly upsetting. I'm extremely concerned and disappointed with the level of care my children received. My daughter came home in a dress and without any underwear on, despite me packing a duffle bag full of extras--clothes, underwear, socks, wipes, a blanket, and a towel. Why wasn't her bag checked? Why was she sent home improperly dressed? Worse, I found her belongings scattered all over the floor in an unlocked classroom during pickup--no supervision, no help. I had to gather her things myself. My son wasn't cared for properly either. His clothes were falling off of him, and his face was covered in dried snot that I had to clean myself. I packed his swimsuit, towel, and shoes, yet he didn't participate in water play because no one bothered to check his bag. The level of security is also concerning--there's no check-in or ID process. I could have walked in with his cousin, who is not even registered, and no one would have noticed or stopped us. Their lunchboxes were untouched, which means no one ensured they even ate. That's neglectful. To top it off, communication is nonexistent. No one returns phone calls or answers emails. I also witnessed a teacher berating a child with visible annoyance. Completely inappropriate. These are not minor issues. This is a pattern of carelessness, poor supervision, and unprofessional behavior. I expected basic safety and attentiveness. What we experienced was the opposite. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: The business owner gave me a call AFTER I posted this review and left a voicemail message. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and very family-focused. The summer camp is exceptional. Our kids have been going for years, and there is truly no other local camp that compares. The camp includes daily swimming and tennis lessons, provides food, and--most importantly--really teaches kids how to swim properly and play tennis. Even if tennis isn't a child's sport of choice, it's such an important life sport, and the instruction here is outstanding. The swimming program overall is fantastic and genuinely builds strong swimmers, not just confident splashers. The tennis program is equally excellent for both kids and adults. Adults can jump into matches, enjoy friendly competition, and feel part of an active, social tennis community. What really makes EFC special are the shared moments. Friday summer nights are the best--kids playing in the field with friends while adults relax on the patio. In the winter, family skate nights are such a highlight: kids skating, great dinner service, and adults hanging out with friends. It's a super fun place to spend time, build friendships, and make lasting family memories. We're so grateful to be part of this community.
