The One star is for Oren H. the leasing agent and most professional kindest person we have met in many years. The rest is Zero stars for this outdated "luxury building". At this "luxury" building you will find massive RAT traps in the parking area. You will also have a garbage or oil truck at 7 am making all types of loud noises right outside your window and possibly other times depending on the day. Expect loud noises throughout the night as people sing and play music from the Sports Bar (River Rail Cantina) right outside your window. You will also NOT enjoy the smell of all types of foods if you dare crack your window open Leaving your bedroom and apartment smelling like an OVERCOOKED Take-out Kitchen. THE KITCHEN HAS NO EXHUAST FAN that removes the air out of the apartment it only has a microwave fan that blows everything back into your FACE. You will smell the garbage which is stored in the same area as the parking lot right underneath the building. The "luxury" amenities are far from luxurious. An old pool table lounge with a bunch of outdated board games missing pieces along with a sofa and TV for this Luxury building. The other Lounge is more like a lobby where you have no access to a desk because it's not for residents to use (what?). A kitchen area with a microwave and fridge is the highlight for this "luxury" building. Now let's describe my "luxury" apt. My apt is a 2 bed 2 bath model. The paint is the cheapest paint ever placed on a wall it will turn colors from a finger touch. The kitchen is outdated with old style maple wood cabinets and very outdated counter tops. The stove is pretty decent thou. The floors are basic wood floors with no signs of any upgrade over the past 10 years. The lighting is very poor because they use yellow bulbs. The carpets in the bedrooms are nothing special or Luxurious as they are your standard rugs you would put in any standard apartment but very old fashioned in appearance. WE RECENTLY HAD A MOLD ISSUE IN THE MASTER SUITE BATHROOM, and we noticed recently that there is NO EXHUAST FAN IN THE SHOWER AREA ...only in the toilet room which has a door and has 4 walls being it is its own stand-alone room. THERE ARE NO WINDOWS IN THE SHOWER ROOM OR TIOLET ROOM therefore causing MOLD and Green Sludge to appear on our sink countertops and all over the stand-up shower. Based on my research THIS IS A BUILDING VOILATION. I WILL SHARE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOLD TO PROTECT ALL TENANTS IN THIS BUILDING ... Do I really have to give them one star? Yes. In fact, I'm not sure that they even deserve the one star I am giving them. When we moved in here I thought "oh awesome, brand new place, high-end appliances - what could possibly go wrong?". In the beginning it was great, but the first time we had to a minor maintenance (ps the maintenance staff is really nice) request they put it off for three weeks! I had to call them over and over to see when they would get it handled - um hello, you live in an apartment so you DON'T have to worry about fixing things or waiting around for a repair man. But wait I did, for a whole day at my house for the repair man - first the office claimed that he was coming in the morning, then afternoon, then the next day, then the next week. The other big let down about these apartments is the price tag. So rent is a little high but we figured it was worth it. When we moved in our apartment came with one parking spot in the garage and the parking lot was open parking. About 3 months into our lease out of nowhere they decided to change the parking policy to $600 for a second car. Also, as everyone has speculated, these apartments are in a flood zone and the lower parking lot does flood when it rains. During the spring and summer there were tons of flash floods that flooded the parking lot, yes the same lot that we paid a whopping $600 for a spot in floods :) Ok, so that sucked but I figured that was the worst that would happen, I mean we are paying nearly $3k a month to live here - I figured at least that would buy us something, perhaps decent office staff that are delightful and helpful and try to avoid making your life more difficult. Wrong again. Let me share just a tidbit of one of the awe-insipring conversations I had with the staff; Me: "So one of our cars in the shop right now for repairs & we have a rental car for the next week so do we need a guest pass for the parking lot or to give you our license plate number..." RF: "You can only have two cars, three cars are not allowed." ME: "Ok, well we only have two cars, so what do you need from me so we can park in the lot without getting towed?" RF: "You are not allowed to park three cars in the lot. ME: "GREAT! I GOT THAT!!! now since we only have TWO cars, because one of our two cars is in the shop and we have a rental replacing it, could you please tell me what you need..." RF: "You are not allowed to have three cars." Oh hey, Riverfront at Cranford Station office staff, little pop quiz for you. If I have two cars but one of them goes into the repair shop & I get a replacement car (aka a rental) how many cars do I have? Bet you'll never guess ;) read more

Unquestionably the most rude experience I've had so far looking for apartments. Spoke to the woman on the phone on our way to check out this place and she was a little dismissive. I didn't think too much about it. Got to this place which looks very very nice. Went into the rental office and the woman asked us to wait for a little bit. Upon sitting down with her she very quickly informed us that there would be no availability for at least a couple of months--and she said an extremely rude way. I spoke with her on the phone just earlier and was extremely surprised she wouldn't mention this on the phone. She clearly had no interest in actually entertaining us even looking at the spaces. read more

I was very interested in living here and first went to tour the property with my mother. The woman working as the leasing agent was very rude and made us feel we were bothering her. In addition to this, she was very dismissive and made me feel like I was not wanted there as a resident; and even refused to give me information on how to proceed. However, I still decided to bring my boyfriend to see it a week later. This time the same woman refused to show us around. Her response was that she accepted two applications already. I asked if we could still tour the building in the hopes rage something would be available in the future but she said no. I loved the complex but my experiences with this woman ruined it. There are so many friendly leasing agents out there whose personalities add to the overall experience. You should not allow potential customers to be treated this way. read more

I had seen negative reviews but decided the location was perfect and after a visit decided to rent here as of Jan. 1 2015 . Everything has been fine.... zero problems and have no understanding of the negative comments. Even when the snow was extreme and frequent the driveways, sidewalks and parking lot was cleared promptly. I only held back one star because someplace between the third party company that they use to accept rent payments online and the owner of the complex someone seems to want to use your money for awhile before applying it to your rent. We first visited Riverfront at Cranford Station on Saturday-- and immediately fell in love with the location and charm. We again visited Riverfront at Cranford Station on Monday after viewing other properties in the area over the weekend. However, this was the top! The rental spaces have beautiful natural light, updated quality appliances, and beautiful hardwood flooring throughout main living area. We spoke to Irma on Monday to again view the property. She was extremely flexible and very knowledgeable of the residence. We are looking forward to making this our new home! Thank you Irma! read more

I saw online that the perimeter of place and outside lot actually DID FLOOD during the heavy rains on April 30, 2014. This was quite an interesting experience. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place in Cranford. We stopped by three different buildings. I was really excited about Riverfront and definitely thought this would be the place we'd end up at. Well, the leasing office is not customer friendly. It's very odd, as if they don't want your business. The woman in the leasing office gave us a tour and really was not helpful in giving information. She didn't make us feel very welcome. Still, I wanted to live here. After visiting, I tried calling to find out if any units had become available to for the time period we were looking to move in. The same woman told me that there was a unit available but she could not help me in reserving it or signing a lease on it. I was told I would have to wait until the week before the lease began and hope that no one else had taken the apartment. This is so odd. She actually denied my business! We ended up signing a lease at Cranford Crossing up the street. It is equally as nice of a building with a better parking situation. Best of all, it has a great leasing team! Hopefully this place figures out their leasing issue. The apartments are beautiful! I would have loved to live here. read more

I have been living here with m boyfriend a few years now and have had great experiences ! Apartments are the best on the block- safe..brand new.. Clean.. High end expensive finishes.. Quiet neighbors.. And even if they weren't, the walls seem to be cement so you can't hear anything anyway... And - It's so convenient to have laundry right in your apartment... The apartments are in walking distance to everything .. Shopping, restaurant, a bar, and Starbucks.. Plus a pastry shop and Italian deli just opened up downstairs and a tex-mex restaurant is opening in a week or so right downstairs !! Everyone that works here is so nice and accommodating.. I would have to agree this place is horrible. The office staff is rude as hell!! I should have known from the beginning if the office staff is not welcoming during your initial visit it is not the place to live. I unfortunately ignored the signs and have been dealing with the rude office for years. If you are looking for a nice place to move into bypass this building. read more

We have lived in the Riverfront at Cranford Station for one year. We LOVE IT HERE! We have a spacious 2 BR apartment that gives us plenty of space, including an easy to work in kitchen, huge bathrooms and large closets The building is immaculate and it is so quiet, one sometimes wonders if anyone else lives here. The second floor gym has lots of equipment and makes it easy to keep up with an exercise routine. The polite staff is very responsive to the tenants' needs, never taking more than a short while to solve any problems that might arise. The icing on the cake is being in a low-key town with lots of restaurants and in walking distance to anything you might need, including the train station across the street. The Starbucks on the corner adds a nice touch! read more

Correction! I wrote back in January that there are 2 affordable housing buildings at Riverfront. Actually, there is only 1, plus 2 high-end buildings. It's a nice mix. I recently moved into an apartment at Riverfront at Cranford Station. What a delightful change from the past challenges and obligations of being a townhouse owner. I am settling in and just starting to appreciate the amenities within the building (well cared for, clean, responsive, excellent lighting, safety features), as well as in the surrounding town (restaurants, shoppes, train to New York City, community events, and more). In addition, residents are friendly and helpful. Not much more to ask for. read more

My husband and I will have lived at Riverfront Cranford Station for almost 2 years this January, we love it here. We have a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment that has higher end finishing touches, beautiful kitchen, huge master bath, laundry room/office, and a really pretty outdoor courtyard that is offered to all residents. It is extremely convenient having the train station right across the street and being able to travel to NYC direct without any transfers. There are great restaurants walking distance from our apartment including beautiful downtown Cranford. Our most positive experiences have been with the management at Riverfront. Several of the tenants and I have discussed how pleasant it is to live here and how accommodating the management is. There is a woman named Urma who started working here not to long ago that takes care of most applicants. Urma is a sweet and kind woman who is honest and polite. I actually look forward to passing by her office to say hello because she always has a smile and a warm greeting for you. She has always been cordial and willing to help with any problem, concern or question I have ever had. She follows through and has always gotten back to us with answers to any of our questions. The head of maintenance is a gentleman named Chaba who has been very reliable and helpful to us since the day we moved in. Management is very professional here, it makes renting an apartment easy living! read more

My husband and I had an appointment today to see this property- we live in Wesfield and know the area well and looking to move into a high end building. We also went to see Woodmont Properties and Cranford Crossings - all 3 properties are close to each other and none are cheap - although RiverFront is the most expensive. When I spoke to the women in the leasing office earlier in the week to schedule our appointment she was rude on the phone but I gave her the benefit of the doubt ( we all have off days). However when we arrived she was cold, snippy and very snobby. Needless to say even though I asked if the property accepts pets on the phone earlier in the week and she said yes it would of been nice if she told me they accept 1 pet ( since we have two small dogs). Waste of time and from what I read above the same grumpy, rude lady works in the leasing office. Customer service in a high price building is required RiverFront! We probably would of passed on this property even if it did accept 2 pets do to her attitude. No a good first impression. Go down the block to Woodmont - they allow pets and have a dog park on the property. read more

When I originally called to setup an appointment I spoke to a woman who was so damn rude!!!! However a different lady showed me the apartment. I arrived about 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment and the leasing agent seemed a bit annoyed that I was there so early. Any who she tried to buzz me in but did not know how so I had to wait for a resident who was going up let me in. It seemed as though she did not even want to show me an apartment until I stated I am a property manager (so I know how this works) and if she did not it would be considered discrimination. Well lets just say her attitude changed tremendously. The website however is very misleading because the apartment that she showed me looks nothing like the floor plans and the building we were in had no elevator!!!! Are you kidding? What are you suppose to do when you have groceries, laundry, etc? The apartment was very small but it was nice and had a decent amount of closet space. Again, not what it looks like on the website. The site shows 2 bathrooms for all of the 2 bedroom layouts, well this unit I was shown only had 1. I see lots of reviews about the parking lot flooding and I will say there are signs everywhere in the parking area that warn drivers about the dangers of flooding. It is in a prime location...literally steps away from the train station; just about 3 minutes to the Garden State Parkway. read more

We have been living here for almost two years and are extremely unhappy with the entire experience. The staff is very rude at times, they nickel and dime you for all issues, they are sharing our building amenities with the low income housing. I understand the rules of low income and that they have the right to have similar amenities but they should be in their building not ours. They have access to our building from 6:30am to 11pm. I do not think it is fair that we have to pay almost 3k per month to live here and We have to share our services with those in another building who are not paying the amount we are. Plus there is not enough room in our building for those who live in the other building. There is no uniformity here either . If you talk to other residents you will find that many have different deals for rent and parking . Yes the building looks nice at first but it is not worth the price. read more
