This place was absolutely cozy and there were plenty of amenities nearby to visit. Staff here was very friendly and the hotel wasn't too bad itself. The beds are very cozy though I do feel like that they are in need of a upgrade. Breakfast wasn't too bad either and they do have a pool thankfully. Overall, my stay here was fairly enjoyable for what it was.

My partner and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Detroit/Roseville this weekend, and it was hands down…read morethe worst hotel experience we've ever had. We waited nearly two hours just to check in because there was only one front desk employee trying to handle a lobby full of frustrated guests. She was absolutely amazing--kind, patient, professional, and genuinely doing everything she could. She repeatedly called for help, but no one came to assist her. She deserves recognition because she was carrying the entire front desk by herself. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. There was no A/C in the hallways, and we went through three different rooms before finally getting one with working air conditioning. Our first night was spent trying to sleep in an unbearably hot room, which made for a miserable experience. Because no one was providing a solution and we didn't know if the issue would ever be resolved, we contacted our third-party booking company to request a refund since we planned to leave the next morning. We had no idea they would process the request so quickly. Instead of receiving an apology for the two-hour wait, the multiple room changes, and the lack of air conditioning, the manager we dealt with the next day became upset that we had requested a refund. Rather than showing empathy or acknowledging everything we had already endured, we were treated like we had done something wrong. No one reached out to us while we were struggling to find a room with working A/C, but suddenly there was urgency once a refund was requested. Eventually, we were moved into a room with working air conditioning, but that was the next day, but by then the damage had already been done and he called us with an attitude and we could've just paid with our own cards, but we were ready to go at that point because that was the last straw. A hotel charging guests for a comfortable stay should be able to provide a room with working A/C from the beginning--or at the very least apologize when it cannot. The only reason I'm not giving zero stars is because of the wonderful woman working the front desk that night. She was calm, compassionate, and incredibly professional despite being left alone to handle an impossible situation. She deserves praise and support from management. But I can tell she gets treated badly and doesn't get the recognition she actually truly deserves. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying here.

Thanks fully someone came to clean it up, but I still had to buy Lysol to disinfect the place. Then two days later I asked for the room to be refreshed and when I came back. Nothing. I go downstairs and asked why and they said well they should have done it. Then I asked if someone could at least empty our trash and give us fresh towels. I was told no one is here to do that and was handed to garbage bags. She said just leave it outside your door. Someone will eventually get it. Then I asked about the towels since I put all of em in the tub thinking my room would be made up. And she said come back later. We don't have any clean one right now. This is super unacceptable and I will never ever stay here again!!!!

During a pandemic, I'm not looking for an open restaurant at a hotel, a hot breakfast...quite frankly I just want it to be clean and especially in these times. In my years of staying at hotels during travel, never an issue. But this place-goodness. I checked in about 7pm for a one night stay as I was in town on business. Had 3 wonderful nights at the Marriott Detroit Wixom but this hotel was closest to my next office I'd be visiting. When I arrived at the hotel, I was a bit surprised by the check in area. It was smaller than a hotel room and just looked really old. Front desk clerk was nice, gave me my key and down the next hall I went which was in another part. As soon as I opened the door to the hallway, completely uncomfortable. Tiny space, dirty carpets, men just standing right next to my room near the stairs. Upon entering my room, I was shocked to see the conditions. There were bug shells all over my kitchen floor, gray roly poly bugs dead on the carpet. A sign on the floor letting me know the hot water would be shut up from 8am-5pm the next day. I immediately check my bed due to the other conditions and discover my comfortable with black spots all over it and a sheet so thin that I thought it was dirty. The tv sits on a desk and does rotate so I just try to ignore the conditions, turn the tv towards the bed and I'm immediately met with sticky dirt all underneath that spot where the tv had been turned. Could I have called the front desk and requested a different room? Something told me that if all these things were wrong, another room would be completely the same so just figured I wouldn't unpack and would exit first thing in am. What a night. All I hear the entire time are people loitering in the stair area or slamming that door every 5 minutes. Perhaps I couldn't sleep because of the noise but I'm sure only having a thin sheet because my comforter was dirty played a part as well. The next morning I go to shower, and as soon as the water hits the shower curtain-the smell of straight urine. I couldn't wait to get out of there. As soon as I returned home late night, I emailed Marriott about these conditions. Wasn't looking for any compensation, not even an apology but just felt I'd want to know if these were the types of hotels operating under the Marriott name. A week later, I get an email from the Assistant General Manager, Jennifer. Let's just say I can tell why the hotel looks like that now: she was more concerned with why I didn't make the hotel aware of the issues almost as though I made them up. Refused to accept any ownership of hotel conditions and was very argumentative in all her correspondence. You can walk in a room, your hallways, your front desk and see all the things I saw-yet I need to make your front desk person aware of the 500 things wrong including bug shells, dirty blankets, hallways, urine...come on-it's clearly in every room. And in looking at recent reviews of this hotel, it's clear nothing has changed and that's sad. Run far far away from this one.....

The accommodations are actually studio-style rooms equipped with a full kitchenette, including cookware, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and more. They also offer complimentary washers and dryers though detergent is not provided although they have that for purchase. There were a few hiccups during my stay. On the first morning I requested a light bulb for a lamp that didn't have one. After waiting an hour with no delivery I left for the day. When I returned that evening I found a bulb in my room but it was the wrong type, it had metal prongs instead of the required twist base. I had to call again before receiving the correct one. On the third night of my four night stay my door suddenly became difficult to lock. It took several attempts and breaks to finally get it secured which was concerning because I hadn't experienced any issues with it the first two nights. The hotel has a lot to offer but some attention to detail and maintenance would go a long way in improving the guest experience.
