Not the hotels fault. But this is the horrible air quality in metro Detroit from the Canadian Wildfires. 6/2023.

I'm only here because it is the required hotel for the event I'm attending. The staff has been fantastic. Super helpful. And they try to be accommodating. The problem is that the hotel does not have any modern amenities you would expect * no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. I'm paying $10 per day rental for my fridge. * no water bottle refill station * No housekeeping. We are here for 4 nights. We were told point blank that we would not get housekeeping during our stay. So we have 3 towels to last 4 days. And we have to put our trash outside the door every day. * It's noisy. Unfortunately I got stuck with a room next to the elevator. But that is the least of the noise. There doesn't appear to be any soundproofing anywhere. Noise from the lobby carries up. And I have the neighbors from HELL - yes I'm talking about you room 304 -- who just won't shut the F up until midnight. Not that I plan to be in Detroit again anytime soon. But if I am, I will most definitely NOT be staying here.

Great, classic hotel to stay at for any occasion. I came here in the winter. Therefore, I was not excited about galavanting around town every evening. The hotel provides the comforts of staying in. The restaurant and room service are incredible. The rooms are close clean and cozy. It helps that the staff is friendly, doing their best to make everyone's stay comfortable. This hotel has free Internet and a gym to work out in. Of course, my favorite was the food. I was signed mpressed by the tastiness of the meals. My favorite was the salmon dinner. The Salmon was cooked to be perfection. My second to favorite was the French onion soup with a crispy breadstick on the side. The breakfast is not the typical breakfast buffet found at hotels. The breakfast is served in a elegant restaurant with many entrees to choose from. The wait for food is not long. Overall, a great hotel!

We held our annual staff meetings here over the last three days and everything was ran very smoothly at the Somerset Inn. All of the staff involved were very nice and we would definitely come back for next year's meetings, if available.

No amenities my uncle fell in the court yard because they have no light. Bar and restaurant is closed. Not worth the price

Very un-helpful staff. Rooms not very clean. Food is awful. Never stay here - overall terrible experience.

Avoid room 114. Otherwise a decent hotel stay…read more Room was spacious and clean. Full sized fridge, microwave, small stove top. Close to the freeway, shops and stores. A basic hotel with basic fares. It had a small gym, but no breakfast option, which is fine. The front desk was courteous (except for the young lady who put me in the worst room of the hotel). Room #114 is next to the laundry room and the big, loud, noisy vents. The vents started at 6:00am and were extremely annoying. I would stay here, IF they provided another room option.

On the first night, we requested extra sheets and comforters, and got them quickly. We also requested late check-out on our last morning, and that was super easy too. We stayed in a spacious 1BR suite. There is a big desk that can also be used as a dining table. The queen bed in the bedroom was quite comfortable. The kitchenette was stocked with plates, cups, cutlery, some salt & pepper packets, a toaster, coffee machine, microwave, a full-size fridge, hot plate, one pot and one pan. I wouldn't plan on doing any serious cooking here, but it was enough to heat up leftovers and make some pasta, which is all we needed. They also have some extra appliances (crock pots, rice cookers, blenders) in the lobby, which you can borrow. The sofa bed is incredibly uncomfortable. I could feel the springs digging into my back. It was also pretty narrow and it would be difficult to squeeze two people on it. Having one person sleep on top of the sofa (not converted into a bed) seemed like it would be okay, though I didn't try it. There were 10 1BRs on the first floor and 25 regular rooms. The building is three stories tall. Overall, given the price that we paid, I'm happy with the value that we received. The furniture is a bit scuffed, the pleather chairs are peeling, and the appliances are a bit old. The fridge was a bit loud, though we were able to close the door, since we were in a 1BR. The shower dispenser was out of shampoo. The dishwasher was dirty and had bits of food stuck to the inside of the door. But none of this was a big deal or an inconvenience to us. I was worried about other reviews that complained about dirty walls, stained carpet, weird smells, and broken doors, but we did not experience any of this. Next time, I would request a room on the higher floor, as it feels nicer to be a bit higher up, even if your view is still of the ceiling.
