There is alot of good staff however, very understaffed and burntout.,the therapy program is great though, I have food allergies, gastric bypass previous issues, and Afrid eating disorder spoke with dietary supervisors and they seemed ok ordered special foods, protein shakes ect, but I continued on many occasions to have issues so spoke with the staff because I told them when they first gave strawberry yogurt I thought it was just a mistake but I finally went to the kitchen myself when they gave me a red dye 40 protein shake,I thought things sucked but were just going by ,then after showering I went to use the restroom which I hope you can manage to get to yourself because it depends on who's there call lights sometimes take minutes but I have had them take 40 minutes and I even called front desk to check to see if the light was working, anyway I go use the restroom only to step in urine, I put a towel that they didn't even put in a bag for laundry my socks and the towel was there till the next day,my roommate was not repositioned regularly and had bed sore, The next day I had my mom shower me and as soon as she left wet all over again apparently the pipe busted they joking asked if I peed on myself I'm 45,they were upset because I wanted my bedding changed, which was not changed for 2 days before and I killed a silverfish on the first night I was in the room,so then my bathroom and the shower room bathroom down the hall both had problems, they left, all the trays of food overnight in the room on a cart till they felt like doing them,food was 50/50but they tried harder for me, then one night I was sitting waiting on my meds because their med pass usually took like a hour and a half the cna tells me get out of the way not excuse me were getting ready to work in here mind you I was in the room my insurance was paying for so I told her she should learn how to speak to people, the next morning breakfast came all i could eat from it was a couple things because again they didn't listen so I asked to speak with dietary but they brought a social worker and the director, that basically said that I was the problem, and maybe I would be happier at one of there other locations LMAO ,like I what to go from bad to worse, if you care about anyone don't let them go here or the other locations I have heard family friends tell me they had trouble getting there meds there

Sure there were days I had to wait a little bit for a medication and that was all because they were terribly busy with other patients who much sicker than myself. The nursing assistance were nothing but great. They were there to always help me and be kind. They were always there with a smile on their face and always willing to help. My rehab was great. It was amazing what they did with me and for me. I watched how they took care of other patients that were sicker than myself .. They were very kind and helpful. Now let us get to the food. Every meal was what I would say for a facility of this size. It was a four star all the way. I cannot believe some of the menus that they came up with or simply amazing . All in all my stay at Aerius was a five star all the way. I fought and fought with my doctors about going to any rehab center .My Doctor promised me that Aerius was different. It was.. I want to thank all the staff for all their help and kind wishes. They were all great. I truly hope that I never have to see all of you in the facility of Aerius again. She gave us a tour of the rehab unit and took quite a bit of time explaining how things work with the insurances. Terri was so kind and understanding and the facility was clean and beautiful. We were even more impressed when we saw her personal cell phone in every room. My aunt has been there over 4 weeks now and is scheduled to go home in 8 days. There were small issues the first week or so but , true to her word, we called Terri and she addressed our problems immediately. We certainly don't expect perfection but we do expect results when we have a complaint. The rehab has been wonderful, the food is almost always wonderful and the nursing staff is generally kind, compassionate and efficient. I would obviously recommend.

There are several things which desperately need attention. The parking lot would look MUCH BETTER if management would invest in getting it repaved. When you walk in, there is a visitor's lounge which has a badly worn chair in need of replacement. Hallways and common areas are clean and (mostly) odor free. Patients have a great selection of DirecTV channels they can watch. My disabled sister is unhappy that the bathroom is small and there's no room for a shower. She shares the half-bath with the incontinent Alzheimer's patient next door and her smell is extremely noticeable! My sister has to keep the door closed in order for her room not to stink. I noticed that the nurse forgot about my sister's afternoon medication in error. It came 2 hours late. I wanted to watch my sister's physical therapy session. Sadly, the PT department doesn't work on weekends. Rooms need updating. My sister's room looks like where Mike Brady would be if he was sick!!! Retro 70's decor.

Instead, I found a 'PT factory' environment where the therapist was juggling 5 to 10 other patients at the exact same time. For three weeks, I was never given the individualized manual attention my condition requires. I spent most of my time performing generic exercises while the therapist rotated through a crowded room. This 'gym' approach is inadequate for patients with specific, high-priority recovery needs. I have since moved my care to a provider that offers private, one-on-one sessions with a true specialist. If you need dedicated, hands-on therapy, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This facility seems more focused on patient volume than patient outcomes."

The kitchen is the perfect size for an elders needs and can accommodate visiting family members as well. The bathrooms are very spacious, definitely a luxury. I was happy to hear of the many options available to the residents when it comes to activities, such as yoga, bingo, cards, crafts, aerobics, etc. The staff is so friendly and truly go above and beyond to make sure your loved ones needs are being met! I can assure you, this is not your typical senior living building, it is beyond beautiful and small enough that each staff member treats you like a member of their own family. Years ago, when it was the Allen Park Convalescent Home, my grandmother was a patient. At that time, residents were well cared for. That was not the case for my sister. The doctor did not see her often enough. Nursing staff often ignored patient call bells. There were several occasions when my sister could not get her needs taken care of in a timely manner. I know that not every family has the same experience, but I do not recommend that anyone put a parent, grandparent, or other relative in this facility. As a result of staff neglect, my sister is now back in the hospital. Her bloodwork revealed a dangerously low level of potassium, among other things. She would not be in this condition had she been properly cared for.
